This is the only transferrable role - it will pass on via a death to someone else of that side.

Since stoners are on either side (also on the OP), I took this as stoners also having the chance to become ninjas. Though, I might have put two and two together after reading Hylian's response on the topic.

Well that is kind of ambiguous. Based on past Phallas I would have assumed that the power goes to a random vanillager. Plus I took "side" to mean the group of players with similar win conditions, which would exclude the stoners hidden among the team.

:( It wasn't meant to sound abusive. I greatly respect Ardor as a player.

But what I said is true. Go check through the last several games. He has routinely mediated a deal between two factions at the expense of the third. Casualties typically include large number of villagers.

That's not true. Just look at Les Phalles--hardly any villagers died there.

Zalbag does have the goatee working for him, and the Summoner does wicked Headbutt attacks.

...but the Chemist has a silly hat.

I had the very same question myself Shamus. Perhaps Jdarksun is a confused noble that first entered as a man and now has donned a very convincing costume? How else would he gain entrance to this august council's chambers?

I was not informed there was going to be a costume party.

Well I certainly don't trust Tehspectre or Infidel at all, and I don't find any of the reasons against rygar or Ardor all that compelling. As luck would have it, I have this handy Random Number Generator to help me to decide.

So if there's ever a huge amount of death one day, we can assume it was you?

    EDIT: Jdarksun, I'm flattered.

I don't know how the game is going to turn out, so as you mentioned, I can't say yay or nay on attempting to team up on a single faction. This is a different type of game then what we're used to, so I'm not sure what to expect as far as balance goes. We'll know more as time goes on and if I even live long enough to be able to comment on things.

That being said, hey Frosteey the thief! I've got some gil handy and I've got a chocobo that's been very bad recently. I think we can negotiate a deal here so I stop getting kicked everytime he and I cross paths.

I don't know, a Phoenix Down seems like an unlikely item to me, simply because people's lips tend to be fairly loose after someone dies. The existence of a dead thread also makes that item seems implausible, because anyone who's revived will have information from the dead that they didn't have before they died. I think a Phoenix Down would be a spiffy idea, but I kinda doubt we have one. Seems very likely to lead to abuse, I think.

There was a dead thread mentioned in the OP by Hylian. Of course the fact that he mentioned it himself might imply that he's going to institute some controls on it (a la Jeffe in Phalliad).

That would be cool, perhaps we'd be like undead Zalbag and we could vote on someone to blood suck each round.

I suggest letting a single tear roll down your face as you jam the torch into the kindling.

    Personally, I'm mortified. :o

So I'll just say this: Read about FF conventions in general. Don't get too focused on FFT's story, because the plot will suck your soul away and leave you a gibbering corpse, but if you read about it in general (job types, so on), that should work.

    For example:

bahamut.jpg This is Bahamut. He is a fancy dragon that blows people up.

summonerspritealpha.gif These guys are Summoners. Bahamut uses them to say hi.

    chemistspritealpha.gif lol autopotion hax

PS: Phoenix Downs raise 'fainted' characters after their HP gets knocked down to 0.

Did we ever get clarification on if the stones are treated as items or as roles? As in, if a Zodiac Brave is seered, will the Oracle always see that he's a Brave, or is it subject to the same percentage chance that other items are subject to? Also, I think it was the general assumption that the stones don't pass on to others after the Brave dies, as that would make it really hard for the rest of us to win, but I don't recall if that was officially confirmed either.
