Well, that was a nice little presentation. Min Min looks like a very neat fighter, and the new costumes are cool (though I don't see me getting most of them). Was also fun to get some anectodes and history of the game from Sakurai.
Happy with Min Min. But the moment it was clear it was not Twintelle, I started keeping an eye out for what would happen when she used items and... she didn't.
(Well, she picked up a crate. But there was never a point where she attacked while holding something.)
So I'm still curious about how that will look. (ie. Will she "put them away" while she jabs, or will the item travel.)

Her A button ARM is always the dragon, so I imagine the dragon will bite down on the item to grab it, and she'll swing with it that way.
Her unique setup (her right arm is controlled with the B button) means that she'll still be able to do normal attacks with her right arm even with a one-handed item, probably.

And Sakurai continues to be quirky as hell. No other game announcements come with a brief tour of his living room and an explanation of his twin TV setup.

And yet it was one of the best "peek in a living room" things I've seen throughout this summer of broadcasting from home.
I loved that he showed off the specific equipment Nintendo sent over to make the broadcast so professional.

Can they please put ARMS on a big sale now? I still want to get it, but not full price. It is one of those games I played the crap out of the betas, didn't grab it at launch for whatever reason, and now I feel like it is too late.
I am probably gonna grab the Mii costumes. Wish they would give you old costumes you've already purchased for free though.

Very happy with today's reveal. I was hoping for Twintelle or Min Min as they are the two best characters in Arms. She looks so very fun and difficult to master. So very happy!

The bestworst thing about that tweet is that I can actually see them doing something like that for a stage (if on a vastly smaller scale) and now I really want to see it. Maybe as a super-special Spirit match?

If I understand correctly, the ARMS ability will turn your arms into springs basically at random unless you have one of those masks. When you have the mask, you can turn the springiness on or off at will.

In the ARMS universe, nobody cares until you put on the mask.

Now that I've said that, it occurs to me that that doesn't make sense with what we saw in the trailer. That would be a reason to keep the mask on at all times, especially when at her job, since you don't want your arms turning into noodles while carrying a full bowl to a customer.

Maybe you need to keep the mask on your person? Some kind of field effect maybe…
Speaking of noodle arms, Min Min there (in regular mode) looks hella buff – do you think working out with regular muscle makes spring-mode stronger too?

Actually, can we just take a moment to appreciate that Kirby in the trailer just inhales his noodles, literally, bowl and all?
I wonder if they charge extra for that?
Also, Maid Falcon at the end there…
There was a reply to this saying how Kirby & Falcon just hanging out eating ramen was so cute.
And I'm like, 'Well yeah, it's Kirby, he's like the ultimate expression of kawaii culture. They turned a bottomless pit that consumes or destroys everything in its path into something adorable'. Like, Kirby + character X doing activity Y is always going to be cute.
So the Smash community has a deep rot within it, and a lot of people are getting outed:
-Girthquake (Dedede Main): accused of beating ex-girlfriend.
-Jtails (Pro Player): Chat logs of grooming and sexting a minor 15 years younger than he.
-Nairo (Pro Player): Committed statutory rape on CaptainZack when the latter was 15.
-D1 (Commentator): Accused of rape.
-Keitaro: Let a minor drink and have sex with him.
-Cinnpie (Commentator): Statutory rape against Puppeh, when the latter was 14.
This is heartrending.

It's rough, man. Better to route it out than let it go unnoticed, but damn. It sucks.
It has to happen, and it’s good that it is happening. Sexual crime brought down the biggest Smash tournament (Apex) and it has prevented who knows how many talented players from joining the scene out of fear of predation.
It still sad to see some of my favorite players and personalities turn out this way, and all those relationships among pros destroyed like this.
Maybe one day we can return to a time when Salem is the greatest villain in Smash.

I thought the big villain was M2K? I remember when he was god and everyone trashed him, now he's not even Top 8 in the scene.
Edit - I looked up Salem's placings, damn he placed first a lot. Nevermind.

This might be something better off in another thread. But reading this has brought up one of the issues I've sort of had with the whole e-sport thing, and is being exasperated with the metoo talk.
It is incredibly hard to take most of this seriously when everyone is still using their made-up names. Even more so if you have no idea who any of these people are. I've no doubt that "Cinnpie" raping "Puppeh" is extremely serious. But when said like that... I can't take is seriously. Or at least as serious as it should be treated. But then we get into a real nebulous area, where it's still highly important for some people not to have to use their real name. And the fact that having your real name out there in no way stops you from potentially being a fuckwad. But... it's just like I said. It is very hard to give this the gravitas it deserves when the names sound like My Little Pony background characters.
I think at the very least, the one being accused should be called by the name that'll be written in the court docket.
"The sausage of Green Earth explodes with flavor like the cannon of culinary delight."
I think both should be used in tandem. Within the community everyone would be known by their handles and it makes it much easier for them to quickly identify who the abusers are. Having their real names included would be, mostly, a benefit to people outside of community.

Update:
Not a fan of the Minster (Byleths utter lack of urgency in her movement keeps me from maining her), but I think she'll be a good fit for some people.

The game doesnt explain it but the mask is how you control the ARMs power. Thats why characters with artificial ARMs like the mech girl dont wear one

Which has got nothing on Pikmin
As is another pile of character adjustments, many of which increase launch distances.
