mobile phones! the pinnacle of communication technology! they call, they text, you can play Snake on there, we cracked the fucking code
but then we kept going, for some reason
these still call and text and probably play Snake, and now you can watch pornography and get elected president on them, but you can also play literally millions of video games! some of them are actually not
blatant cash grabs targeted at 6 year olds and Wall Street morons! but how do you figure out which is which? before you'd just have to scroll and pray
but not any more
Apple's gotchu, fam
uh, erase the "this fall" part up there, it's out in like an hour
and there's games!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3GCGOfeNLg
here's Assemble with Care, it's a junk reconstruction simulator with occasional story
this is Card of Darkness, the Really Bad Chess guy and the Adventure Time guy made ithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-RyxYcxSQ4
here's Sayonara Wild Hearts which I'm probably going to get on the PS4 but man it looks cool
here is OH FUCK CHU CHU ROCKET?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?! wait it's not out at launch ugh never mind
so there's some stuff, there's gonna be more, it's 5 bucks a month with a 30 day trial
or, whatever! don't subscribe to that and get mobile games some other way! which ones do you like? I'm seriously asking I have no idea what is good anymore
I am not sure if i can love again
This will be here until I receive an apology or Weedlordvegeta get any consequences for being a bully
We should play some digital boardgames together, folks
I’m pretty sure they’re specifically curating it and cutting deals with devs themselves?
I only play mobile games for 6 year olds and Wall Street morons though, and that Chu Chu Rocket looks kind of bunk
by doing what they claimed they were going to do with the app store in the first place... which is actually look at what's being put on there and have standards
also they're financially backing a lot of these games (not all, but a fair bit) so they have some publisher authority over how the games are, feature-wise
The apple arcade experience looks like its so far very disposable games you'll spend 20 minutes on
Will be interesting to see if they come out with anything more in depth
I felt silly and went to edit the OP to include this info and saw that it was already in there!!! your reading comprehension made me feel dumb!!!
reading is for nerds
Please check out Spelldrifter if you like strategy/tactics games.
It's one of the top 5 games on the arcade*!
That's awesome man, congrats on the launch!
yay that means my iPad becomes an actual worthwhile appliance now weeeeeeee
like, I can load Facebook and a bunch of other apps, but all my games time out while connected to it :bigfrown:
I have an iPad that is just for games and watching movies and running D&D off of. What does 13 add?
I'm still playing WWE Supercard, like three handsets and ~5 years later. And Solitaire.
as far as i know its supposed to add real multi-tasking and a few other power use things.... mine hasn't been given the update yet though *edit* the ipad version doesn't come out until next week whoops
this seems really good and slick and may destroy the games industry all over again
This looks to be right up my alley. Downloading now.
i'll probably do my free trial, play around with some of these and cancel, since nothing looks like something i'd want to play for any real length of time.
Really hope this shows up on other platforms.
(I'm still playing pokemon go)
They're launching a competing subscription service that's available this week. It honestly appears to me as kind of...half-assed? It's especially weird considering Stadia is due to roll out before too long.
It's honestly a little embarrassing
