It is a lovely day in the village, and you are a horrible goose.
Untitled Goose Game is a lighthearted indie sandbox stealth game from Australian developer House House, in which a peaceful British village has its tranquility shattered by the arrival of a feathered asshole - better known as a goose. That's right, you get to take control of a honking menace, and inflict goosey terror on the people of this sleepy hamlet.
The game plays like a more PG rated version of a game like
Hitman - the goal is to still sneak around accomplishing objectives (classified as your "to-do list"), but instead of murder and mayhem, the goal is feathery chaos. Some tasks are pretty straightforward ("rake in the lake" - there's a rake, there's a lake, put the two together.) Others are more open-ended (it doesn't matter how you get the groundskeeper wet, just that you do.) Your goose has several things they can do - flap their wings, run (you lose some precision in control if you do), grab things with their beak, lean down (necessary to hide as well as grab items on the ground)...
And, oh yes, honk.
The game is out today, September 20th, for both the Switch and PC.

I'm already well past that part. Everybody has no-geese signs.

Law and Order ≠ Justice
sometimes i just lower the neck, spread wings, and creep about honking madly.
Law and Order ≠ Justice
"They see me honkin'
They hatin',
Patrolling and tryin' to catch me honkin' dirty,
Tryin' to catch me honkin' dirty,
Tryin' to catch me honkin' dirty,
Tryin' to catch me honkin' dirty,
Tryin' to catch me honkin' dirty!"
Honk!
I wrote a stupid fanfic thing about this game & Remedy's Control, plz love me (and I'm happy for feedback/edits, esp for making entry more Goose)

Might be too spoilerific to use the above, hence my vague wording in my original response. Nonetheless, I quite enjoyed the crossover.
Law and Order ≠ Justice
That was with a decent amount of time spent doing non-'to-do list' things, because for that 4 hours, I was that goose.

I really hope they continue this idea and presentation in some fashion. Some of it screams to me to be the bones of some kind of crime game or detective game, where you’re finding clues and manipulating the crime scene somehow. I’m not saying Goose Detective but I wouldn’t be against that either.
I'm willing to accept variations depending on the specific creature you're playing. For example, Okami has a bork button, because you're a dog, and that's good.
You're all a bunch of SILLY GEESE!
And so am I.
NO
ONLY HONKS
Sorry, had to

I had thought about using "The Glorious Edict: The Game" for the thread title.
I just reached the pub, and there’s certainly a continuing bespoke charm and the challenge is changing in new ways, and it’s more of everything I’ve liked so far and even, hey, some people do get along with the goose and that’s cool...
I just find myself wanting new skills, or something I could do in the third stage I couldn’t do in the first.
It just...I want more concrete rewards. Don’t get me wrong, I’m charmed by everything this game is doing, I just wish that opening up a new area was more than another to-do list. Does that make sense?
I am the terror that flaps in the night
