i'm sorry this was stupid and not really directed at you and I feel bad about it but once the idea wormed its way into my brain there was no stopping until i had created whatever the fuck this is
"Old Faithful, But With Dust" they called it. After the first particulate explosion, the Governor demanded they be put into a secure facility to prevent further incidents.
You can only increase heat once you best the final boss though, which I feel is counterproductive for acquiring a resource that makes your weapons permanently better.
I would argue otherwise. The primary method of improvement is darkness to increase mirror abilities. Blood is to succeed at progressively harder runs.
Sure, darkness is the primary method, but that doesn't mean that blood isn't a method?
Like, the way that the game is set up now, it's used for succeeding at progressively harder runs, yes. But that's only because that's the only time you can get it. If it were more available earlier on, it would also be a method for succeeding at the easy baby runs that some of us still think are very hard.
Getting blood earlier would definitely increase the odds of success, but my response was more of a philosophical one to the use of the word "counterproductive". I think Supergiant's design philosophy is that blood is for later runs rather than for the first runs. Whether that's a good idea or not is certainly up to interpretation.
Yeah, it’s pretty clear based on the development timeline that Blood (and to a lesser extent, companion summons) were added as an additional power boost/flexibility for heat runs, as the final boss and heat runs were added prior to the addition of Blood etc. You can still get blood upgrades early, but design-wise it is not intended that you get over the last hump to clear the boss with grinding Blood boosts.
The election was a sham! It was rigged! There was no competition the establishment candidate ran against a nerd and a mute plutocrat squid! It was all fixed! The fix was in!!!

yeah yeah congrats to the cat, I'm sure the position will do her cause a world of good
Yeah prophecies are where I'm focused right now - the final boss is a fucking bear and I honestly don't even particularly want to beat him with the current game state
There is some cool stuff once you do so that ties into the fact that the game isn't complete.

but NEW STATION TIME! CHOO CHOO, NOTHERFUCKERS
I must say I have set aside the railroad for the moment because I straight up do not know how you get dreaded to 15, I must be missing something on the wiki cause to my eyeballs all the non fate dreaded gear adds up to 11
It's a game dev having a meltdown and threatening a socialist Seattle council member on Twitter for vague accusations of illegal activity. Gita's post were about how strange the comments are in light of the game being part of itch.io's Racial Justice bundle.

Conceptually I agree with the idea of being stuck with the clothes you put on in the morning. I would in fact potentially literalize it that way with Fallen London, where you choose your outfit when you first sign on for the day and then you're wearing that all day (possibly with an option to change at a small action cost or whatever).
But when you've built your game around trying to get a 13% chance of success and wearing a different hat turns that into a 15% chance of success or whatever, it doesn't seem to be a great thing to me. If the game was less grindy or outfit ability bonuses were less significant or failure was more consistently interesting and not just something that you would have to try again tomorrow, then it would work. But as it stands, it feels like a punishing change.
That said, if they're making skill checks easier because they're not expecting you to constantly be changing clothes, I'm in favor of it on the basis of being the sort of person who would always forget to change clothes.

Yeah that is definitely a Good Change but also it's a change the game wasn't designed around even a little bit

It's like I have a mummy's cock over here. Little puffs of dust, like Shai-Hulud erupting onto Arrakis' surface.
Usul, we have sperm sign the likes of which even god has never seen!
well, if we're doing this
(legitimately forgot this wasn't the youtube thread for a second but I'm posting this anyway)
