Oh christ I need to put that Thorax BPO on to ME some more. Someone do me a favor and find the BPO with ME 17 and set it for 3 more to ME 20.
Do you have that down in SP? Cuz uhh...I hear Gallente pilots like that ship, and you should put a few runs through if they give you the minerals for it...

It's in Hoshoun in the corp BPO hangar. It needs 3 more bits of ME on it and no one will run it from me and I don't want to CJ back there, nor pod jump because I'm lazy. So someone already there should do it for me.
Na'Tel is sitting there bored as hell waiting for jita to release its grip on Pi so I can refit my brutix (travel fit atm from when I flew it up from Stain) before clone jumping back down to SP, but someone would have to give me BPO hangar access. I mean, what's one little role given out in a corp of spies?
The first time I tried the demo I played as Caldari, I loved the missiles. All I remember was taking out droves of pirate frigates one salvo at a time. However, the ships are ugly as crap (IMO), so thats kind of offsetting.
I later tried Gallente, got the little tiny sexy looking ship ( The fatman or something) but then I realized something; turrets were not doing near the damage my missiles where. Was I just using them poorly or is this true at the low levels of game play?
Anyway in summary..
I like damage.
I have no idea how to tank, so the "easiest" tank to learn would be cool.
I like ships that are pleasing to the eyes.
Gallente (my preferred): up-close omgwtfblasters and drones
Caldari (my original style): fire ze missiles, tank ze shieldz
Amarr: chargin mah lazors, omgarmor tank
Minmatar: bastard use of all of the above, but very effective at it (best to train into it from another race)
edit: according to your prefs, Gallente would probably be best. High damage, all ships are armor tank, way fun. Amarr would be next on your list.
And training missile stuff isn't stupid as there's...well, not many, but a couple that use missiles as well. Offhand I think the celestis and Ares. Plus training matari ships as gallente, there's a couple ships which are faction or whatever and require both.

The hell are you taking a cruiser bpo to 20 for? so you can save another 10 isk per run or what
I must say I was expecting more of a MWD. I thought it would be more like...a micro...warp...drive. 1.2km/s is hardly warping. Also, the 25% capacitor reduction, does that happen just for equipping the MWD, or just when you activate it?

Hahaha your skills fucking suck. I do 2k in my slowest non battleship. 12km/s in my fastest (this is old, i havnt flown a crow in foreeeeeevverrrr so I dont know how fast it goes now)
Also yes, the 25% is just having it online on your ship.
Then how do you improve the speed like that? I think high-speed maneuvering increases speed, as does navigation. But what else would speed my ship up? I'm running an Omen (cruiser) by the way.
Well, I think I'm gonna start heading towards Interceptors--I made myself a jump clone up in Empire with some implants for the particularly long training sessions. I sorta wish now that I hadn't semi-quit and sent most of my money to the corp, though.

There's the problem. Omens are slugs, as are the majority of amarr ships really, except for the crusader/malediction/executioner and riced out Curses. HSM doesnt make you faster. Acceleration control does, as does fitting nanofibers or overdrives.

Fine! I'll take it to some place with factories and make Thorax's to give to people to fly as unique snowflake blaster setups on fleet ops!
Our man did a fucking bang up job on that Logo. It had it's detractors but I backed it fully and I'm glad it was the one we finally ended up with.
It really looks great in game. My computer is total shity, requiring me to play Eve on minimum settings if I want to run two clients, or run anything like Firefox/TS/Vent/EveMon/Pidgin/mIRC in the background, so the screenshot looks crappier than it really is. Fokus did a fantastic job, and CCP didn't fuck with it. Can't wait to see it on ships.
Thanks fellas. Its good to see people like it. Though honestly, if I had known they werent going to touch it I probably would have pushed for more of a worn paint look. So that when the day does come that it goes on ships it looks like it belongs there. Maybe we will get the chance to resubmit before that happens or something.

No no no no!!! If you do that it'll never match my pink and green battleships when ship painting comes in!

Eh? Omens have lower mass than every other T1 cruiser except Minmatar or the Vexor. They have higher speed than every other T1 cruiser except Minmatar. It's the fastest and lowest weigh T1 cruiser in the game except Minmatar.
So yeah, Amarr are slower than Minmatar, but faster than everything else. Like most every ship class.
There's the whole "MWD on 95% of Amarr ships is stupid" thing, but that's a bit different, and more related to weapons than hulls.
I know I posted about this earlier, but, well, on my Minmatar, I recently trained Cruisers.
So, quick question:
Should I get into one as soon as I can afford it, OR...should I save/train up for the Rupture, which I hear is apparently like one of the best cruisers in the game?
What are you using the cruiser for? If it's missioning/NPCing, save up for the Rupture, train up Minnie Cruiser and Medium Turret, and maybe some other support skills.
There's the whole "MWD on 95% of Amarr ships is stupid" thing, but that's a bit different, and more related to weapons than hulls.
Say what, now? For serious, small-group PVP, I can't live without an MWD. I've even got one on my Maller, which is my standard everyday ship, right now (until it blows up). For closing range, powering to gates, and many other situations, it's just a must. You can't run it indefinitely, of course, but then you don't really need to once the target is in range and webbed to hell.
I've tried setups with ABs, and not only do they not work, but I get mocked by my fellow pilots.
1) Roll caldari, train to ravens & siege missiles for ratting easymode
2a) Crosstrain to minmatar for small ship ownage (Best frigs, cruisers, BC, HACs, Recons, CS, good inties)
2b) Crosstrain to gallente for capital & battleship ownage
You think Minnie have the best cruisers, BC, recons and CSs?
I'd say this:
cruisers: Gallente (Vexor/Thorax is on par with Stabber/Rupture, but they also get the Celestis)
BC: Gallente (Myrm is unarguably the best, and the Brutix is the only tier 1 BC that isn't made obsolete by the new ones)
recons: Amarr
Command ships: Gallente. Though the Sleipnir is awesome, Eos and Astarte are awesomer
Sonelon: Just like all faction frigs, the Hookbill is a novelty. However, it is very fun to bust out and have some friends shoot at its awesome tank.

Raven bah. It is the best for ratting, but the domi isn't that far behind it. That is a lot of effort for a marginal gain if you are going gallente eventually anyways.
So anyone have an opinion on caldari navy hookbills?
Give me the money instead, and i'll give you a rifter which will be better anyways.
edit:
Caldari Frigate Skill Bonus: 10% bonus to Shield capacity and 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret optimal range per level . Yay? 4/4/3 layout, with a lovely 2/2 split on launchers & guns in the highs.
merlin:
Special Ability: 5% bonus to shield resistances and 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret optimal range per skill level.
4/4/2, same launcher/gun splitting, and more 25 more cpu, 2 less grid. Same speed, much lower HPs.
Yeah, if you're planning on going capship someday, Gallente's the route to go. However, if you aren't, having Caldari already helps crosstraining into minmatar to some degree.
And yeah, the Eos is awesome, I just expect it to be nerfed, while I don't expect the Sleipnir to be. Eos is the one with the extra guns for no reason, right?
The reason I prefer Minmatar recon&BC is most of the fighting I've done is against BoB. BoB flies 4 things: interceptors (doing 7k+), dictors (doing 6k+), HACs (shitloads of vagas doing 5k+), and command ships. Once in a blue moon you'll see battleships, and never cruisers. Having minmatar recons is ridiculously good against those, obviously, and the Hurricane is great for sniping at their inties+dictors, as well as doing all around good damage. The myrm isn't as useful in these settings, whereas it's much much better in lowsec and NPC space.

no. MSN, not phone!
true, but i like the thought of CCP having a red phone in their office that rings when a BoBship is caught, or when a tower goes into reinforced.
Then they pull the head back on a nearby bust, press a button, and slide down poles to an underground lair (where the servers are kept) to activate console commands.

The problem with saying "Race totally has the best Ship Class" ll is that it's really based on preference and situation. The Myrmidon doesn't hold a candle to a Hurricane in a sniper situation, and if you've got your Myrm set up like a mini nos-dom, there's a high chance you'll lose your drones before a Hurricane would ever run out of ammo. If you're pvping in areas without stations or markets, this sucks pretty badly.
I've never flown a Thorax, but a Vexor is a drone boat, and that's enough to make some people (like me) want to fly something else already. Drones are all well and good, but it's really too easy to get jumped and have to warp out leaving an entire rack of drones in space. Better than losing your ship, sure, but any other cruiser can escape without the potential of it's DPS being left in space for the enemy to scoop or pop.
The Eos and Astarte are awesome, I'll give you that. You can't really go wrong with Minmatar or Gallente command ships, they both rock.
Recons are kind of a tossup. Drone DPS is another disadvantage, imo. Though they are seriously awesome recons, and most likely the best in general, it depends on the situation. For solo and small (really small) gang pvp, it doesn't get better than Amarr ships. For larger gangs and fleets, it's fucking awesome to have a Rapier or Huginn around, to almost instantly nullify any interceptors or other fast tacklers the gang might be using to kill your capships or bs's.
edit: I'm kind of biased though because I hate the concept of drone ships. If you could refit drones in space, they'd be fucking amazing, but I've had a few nights where I've taken out a drone ship like 20 jumps into 0.0 with no dockable stations around, and lost my drones for one reason or another, and blammo I'm worthless. Everyone else just reloads their shit and I'm flying back an hour to get another rack of drones.

well 25k/s isn't that hard to reach.
Overdrives MWDs Snake implants and such do it.
Oh, almost forgot about the Megathron, same boat there.
The 25% cap penalty is just for having the MWD equipped, although some faction ships negate that (Vindicator and Vigilant).
