First day back from "Vacation" (in quotes because Missouri + In-laws + Drama, doesn't a vacation make) and one of my better technicians told me he has to resign and move back south to help care for his girlfriend who had a psychotic break a couple weeks back. I'm going to try and get HR to get some options together in case there's a way we can keep him, but he's only been here 6 months, and I already know HR isn't going to bother going out of their way. We likely won't be able to fill his position either.

At least it's not Monday.

Nothing to see here. move along...

Anyway I got into work about 30 minutes ago. Not too bad of a delay I guess, but still annoying.

I took the bus to tacoma to get on the bus to seattle

when I was about to get on the bus, they announced trains were running again, but given that 3 or 4 trains were delayed I figured I'd actually get in sooner taking the bus. I've been on the train when there's been ONE train ahead of us, much less three.

Yep, Dynamics is fine too, just the surrounding support is worse (fewer independent shops/consultants/integrations) and less robust training. If you're a hard MS shop - definitely give it a look, but given timetable it's about ease. Also CRM is clearly not incredibly core, so realistically the easiest solution that doesn't break the bank is the right choice as the best tool will be one you don't even think about.

I can't listen to podcasts while I work, since typically I get distracted by people talking

If I do listen to music I can tune out the words enough, at least. But a lot of the time I just listen to weirdo vaporwave shit that has no vocals anyway.

It's too loud here to listen to podcasts and actually pay attention to what's being said. It's not loud enough to play music quietly in the background though. I've found myself to be the most productive when listening to Jazz.
