So this weekend started out great. My sister had her college grad party on friday, got to drink and hit on college chicks again, a whole pig was roasted, crabs were had, a rollicking good time. Then on Saturday, I went to a cousin's med school grad party and it was more of the same. I lay my head down last night content that this weekend was one of the bestest ever.

Then at 1 am last night, I get a call from my dad. My grandma in the Philippines passed away a few hours ago.

Needless to say, that really sucked. Now I'm trying to get off work and help my family with plans to go to Philippines, while I stay here and try to work, even though thats the last thing on my mind. Can't really take off work to go there for a week. Stupid work. It is weird, because two years ago, my grandfather passed away two days before my college graduation. I missed his funeral too. Maybe my family is not meant to graduate college, whatever. Anywho, yeah, just wanted to vent, sorry for filling SE++ with this stuff.

You ever have those moments of synchronicity, where really really good moments in life are followed by really really bad moments? Yeah.

TL;DR - great weekend, then grandma dies on sunday night. Feeling blah.

I was walking across a field on my way home from work, and I saw a wet, kind of ripped magazine on the ground. It looked kind of like a Sears catalogue, and I kicked it open as I passed it, and it flipped open to a two page spread of a chick prying open her ass cheeks.

I shouted, "Ohohoho. It looks like they're advertising the new summer swimwear line!"

    My life isn't very exciting.

I made these really great beans on Saturday. Take one huge can of Bush's traditional baked beans, straing all the juice/sauce out, dump in crock pot. Add a bunch of brown sugar, slice up some shallots, add fresh crushed garlic and sliced onion, add one can of beer. Cook on high for 5 hours.

Then I pissed blood a few minutes later.

Friday night I left the bar where I was having a good time to go to a party. The party consisted of girls falling asleep on the couches and the 360 not being turned on. -1

Saturday I found out that an instrument I own is worth about 5 times more than I thought. +1
Also we just up and went to Blackhawk and gambled all night. I lost 20 bucks; not bad for a good night out with the guys; +1

Sunday I tore apart my little brother's Jeep, only to find that the damage he has done is far worse than I'd imagined. Now I gotta redo almost the entire bottom end of his engine and he's not paying for it. -1

Until his Jeep is repaired he's driving my mother's Geo. So not only is he bitching that his Jeep is broke, my mother is bitching because he has her car and stepdad is bitching because, well, everyone else is bitching. So I'm just going to sink a couple hundred bucks and get everyone to stop being such whiny little bitches.

    Fucking stoners.

I think they made a movie about that.

Actually I almost rented it last night, there were a ton of movies I saw at blockbuster I needed to see.

Children of Men, The Departed, The Good Shepard, PotC-2, Sharry Baby, a few others. I went with Batman Begins.

About two years ago, coming up on early May 2005, I'm in the zone. Exams are coming up that I'm prepared for, me and the girlfriend have never been happier, and my family has a trip to Sydney, Australia planned for July, in which I'll finally get to see loads of family I haven't seen in years.

First week of May, my grandfather (who I've been told I'm more like than my own father) dies. Less than two months before we were going to see him again for the first time in about five years. So I know it's not quite the same, lostwords, but I wish you the best and hope you manage to deal with it well, because you seem like a really decent guy.

You’re the first person I’ve talked to who feels that way.
It’s just so long… for so little to actually happen.
I liked little bits and pieces a lot, but I left the theatre feeling rather disgruntled with the thing as a whole.

Not a movie for everyone for sure.

    But I enjoyed it.

    when
they threw the girl out of the airplane, someone in my theater started laughing hysterically.

    it wasn't that bad
i thought it was pretty interesting
you just can't go into it expecting an action movie...at all

then again i saw it for free
    with free popcorn and pop

so maybe i'm biased because of the overall experience
