So is anyone else hyped for this game? It comes out August 28 and sounds like it's going to be even better then call of duty. I know it's another world war II game but the ability to start anywhere on a level you like and the dynamic missions, not to mention choosing your own weapon loadouts, sounds cool.
The land anywhere fight anywhere trailers of the game.
I have hopes for Airborne, in the same way I hope a 1 legged man can win an ass kicking contest. I would love for it to be a return to ye awesomeness of old, but this is EA, and it's still WW2, so, I don't expect much.

Pretty much sums it up. EA has had a lot of time to do something with the Medal of Honor series and none of the games have remotely interested me since Allied Assault/Spearhead. I'm definitely not holding my breath for this one.
Really, in my opinion, this game would be perfect for 2 or 4 player coop, what with the open levels and stuff. Imagine how cool it would be to parachute into a level with 3 of your buddies, and two of your take an objective on one side of the map while the other two land somewhere else and take another objective. If Halo 3 has four player coop this game should have it too.

Now they also have competition for the WW2 game title. the earlier MoH games didn't need to innovatrmuch becasue they were rttop fo the WW2 shooter lineup. they have since be dethrone by Call of Duty and have something to prove.
After Allied Assault I have been pretty disappointed in the MoH games.
I got hyped for Pacific Assault but got pretty sad when I actually played the demo. The graphics kinda looked good- but thats all the game had going for it.
This is the first time in awhile that the MoH franchise has ever looked interesting.
Thread does not deliver. You really need to link to the trailers EA put out, like the land anywhere trailer. The game looks hot, and they're moving in a completely different formula than before. I'm glad to see them remove the linearity of it while keeping the production values so high. I am definitely looking forward to it.

I guess not that many people are interested in this game. Or maybe this thread is too early. This could be the king of all WWII games though, from what I've read and saw.
I'm not saying they should stop making WWII games or something, I am looking forward to this, but it is kinda getting to the point where there isn't that much to talk about anymore. "I hear there will be more Nazis this time around!" "Awesome!"

But there WILL be more nazis! And from what I've read in the previews, they won't respawn. No more call of duty esque shooting 100 nazis who keep on streaming out of a two floor building. It'll be cool to actually be able to kill all of the enemies on a level.
So the game's out, and I bought it. The training level was pretty cool, and the first level, which was also in the demo was alright. I'm looking for some PAers to play multiplayer with though, playing with randoms isn't fun. So, is anyone up for a game?
I made a short review in another forum
Gameplay
First off, it is not realistic. Don't go expecting that. In this game, if you have a gasmask, you can survive 3 panzerfaust shots. It's more arcade, which is pretty fun for a short time. The jumping from the planes is pretty nice, except in sniper heavy levels where you are almost out of health before you land. But it can be used to your advantage when you know where to drop.
The covering system is pretty nice for consoles I think, but I prefer to be able to slowly strafe sideways when aiming, and leaning with Q and E when I'm in a good position. But otherwise it is implemented pretty well.
The more irritating things are sometimes barely noticeable, sometimes kicking your teeth in. One thing is the AI of both enemies and friendlies. We'll start with friendlies.
They are idiots. They constantly run into your line of fire, and constantly think you are playing catch with them when throwing grenades. They will often prevent you from leaning when you just had a Nazi in your sights. Also, they can yell some odd things (Get on the roof! in the middle of a field and so on).
The enemies, are just weird. They will run straight into your sights. Really. You don't really need to aim in close quarter combat. They run straight for you, as if they want to kiss you (With a rifle butt). Also, when landing close (Close) to a panzerfaust soldier, he killed me in one shot, and didn't get killed himself. I could have melee'd him from that distance!
Anyway, the soldiers are pretty irritating, because htey have no fear of fire, they can hit you while only exposing a gun from cover, and they spawn instantly, as if the germans had some crazy teleportation technology. It is really irritating, but good if you want to level up your weapons.
Which brings me to the next topic. The weapons and levelling of them are pretty decent. You get the standard fare of extended magazines, less recoil et cetera. But one thing is weird. When you level up the MP40, you will get a knife for melee... But only if you have the MP40 equipped! When you throw it away, he throws the knife away as well.
The gameplay has some good sides, but only if you can look past the bad sides. It is generic, except for the jumping part, which is sort of a gimmick since it doesn't have too much impact on the whole gameplay, and only changes things in one objective per map. Most objectives after the initial ones can only be approached from one way.
Also, you'll encounter a breed of super soldiers, which seem to be getting their super powers from a gas mask (atleast they look normal except for the gasmask and MG42 they carry around). They did increase the arcade feel alot, and htey take atleast three grenades to kill... You will encounter a lot of theese, and my suggestion is to get to a place where you can barely see him and he can barely see you, and kill him with a assault rifle.
He is more accurate than snipers with a machine gun that isn't even mounted anywhere
Overall, I'd give the gameplay a 6.5/10
Sound
The sound is pretty awesome. You'll hear the germans screaming "Mich getroffen!" when killing them, and so on. It sounds awesome, but not really special. The soundtrack is the standard orchestral WW2 thing.
9/10 for sound
Graphics and Physics
Graphics first. It looks almost awesome. Almost. It does however suffer from the shiny syndrome... It's itneresting to see an ally shoot his way through 10 nazis, and then, if you could, you would ask him how he keeps the damn buttons so POLISHED while killing solders and crawling through mud. Atleast almost only metal and shiny thing shine.
However, the snipers do occasionally have a cheap lens flare like effect, so you can notice them easily... I think it looks bad personally.
Also,
Physics are decent, nothing extra ordinary... Except when the soldiers fly when going ragdoll... It happens more often than it should, really.
Graphics and physics 8/10
Misc:
The damn EA intro sucks. Unskippable intros to every level suck (which doesn't inspire me to level up all guns). Short single player. Otherwise, it's decent enough.
Conclusion:
I haven't played multiplayer, so I don't know how that is. It seems as if it could be better as a console FPS, but that might just be me. The single player could have been longer though. If you don't walk into this expecting too much, I guess it might be worth a rental for the short singleplayer.
6.5/10
That's my opinion anyway... End score is based on mainly gameplay, and graphics and such can only make it so much better when misc gets on my nerves.
Nice review. I've only played through the first level but I agree with most of what you said. The ally AI is weak, enemies rush to melee too much, and the respawning enemies are annoying.

Either way, it sounds like an awesome game. I'm a huge MoH fan.

Thanks, heh, I'm pretty bad at remembering game names.
It's okay, I guess...
... but I demand... a shrubbery!

That is sarcasm I won't spoil more than that.
