Industry Meet N' Greet?

I know a lot of conventions are important professional development opportunities for a lot of people. I was thinking it's too bad there aren't some industry meet'n'greets scheduled off-site. Did I miss the announcement, or should I organize one for designers, publishers, and business/legal professionals? Any interest? I'm thinking probably at some local pub or restaurant, a fairly informal kind of thing.
