So, one thing I like is an ability to toggle from First person to third, to keep myself from being scared shitless by approaching monsters, I need to ask. How are the monster encounters? Are they more like Skyrim/FO4, where you get ample warning that you're about to get into combat? Or like Fallout NV, where you're creeping through pitch black caves, unable to see a damn thing. I loved FO:NV, but I almost never went into caves/vaults unless I absolutely had to. Especially Vault 22.... *shudders*

You get some pretty solid indicators of enemy activity. You get a bright red arrow on your compass at the top of the screen, and if you crouch you can get diamond icons above enemies heads, which also count as 'we notice yer ass' markers that'll fill up yellow, then red as they start to spot you. I also believe there are perks that extend the range of that as well.
I'm only playing on normal, but I've just suited up Felix and Parvati in the heaviest armour money could buy and flamethrowers.
Pretty sure I've gone through Monarch the reverse way that it was intended (there was a warning not to go there which I hadn't seen before) but my squad has been carving a path through while I plink over their shoulders.
Ran into a 95 difficulty lock and my brain didn't process that there was such a thing as a lock I had to work for to open.
Also a heads up, if you're finding you're hitting carry weight often, check that you don't have a ton of rapcidon steaks sitting in your inventory.
Found a Doom tribute along the way with a soldier in heavy armour that died onto top a mountain of ferocidon corpses.
Gosh I hope this lady bandit I freed shows up again later. I really like what she was all about.
I really, really enjoyed her character if you're talking about the one in
Roseway, with the research notes. At first I was seriously considering just killing her because I was sick of Roseway's (read: Auntie Cleo's) bullshit in general but found her general mien very respectable and allowed her to live to fight another day. I had the exact same feeling of "dang I really hope I see you again"
Spoilers for rest of game:
I was super duper disappointed I didn't encounter her again, but I don't want to say that's impossible. I may have just missed her elsewhere, although that feels unlikely because she's literally the only Outlaw you get to talk to so I can't imagine a zone where you'd see her again

I just wish the perks were more specialized and weird like Fallout ones, or that you got some interesting ones through gameplay decisions / quest rewards, or that some were locked by requirements
How easy will this game be to mod, I wonder

flaws are a lot like some of the weirder perks
case in point: I got offered the Robophobia flaw
great, I think, because the drawback is significant but not debilitating, it's interesting, and also I actually do hate fighting the robots in this game
and then, [certain crewmember spoilers]
every time I interact with SAM, I'm offered the option to just scream in terror at him
There's some items you're gonna want to hold onto for a late game quest.
Certain armor sets.
More specifically a full set of Marauder, Iconoclast and Spacer. The Spacer set is just work gear you can buy from the human armor by sunlight offices in the groundbreaker. The Iconoclasts can be bought from their quartermaster with a certain rep, I don't think there's anywhere to buy the Marauder armor.
Jesus, I don't think I ever seen a character fall for another character this fast since maybe SR4. Nice to see the ace representation though.
I'm not up to that part, but in Fallout 4 you can essentially proposition everyone from essentially the second line of dialogue. See below:
Real* verbatim** transcript*** from my Fallout 4 playthrough:
Me: "Hey, I'm Gabriel. I'm looking for my son. HAVE YOU SEEN MY SON? SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUN!"
Cait: "Nope."
Me: "Oh ok. You said that so hotly, do you want to share my bedroll? There's only room for one but I can make it work. It's OK, I just found out an hour ago that my wife is dead."
Cait: "Sure!"

For bonus points, she has to pay his gravesite rental fees because she is his closest living relative
Only they aren't related
She found his body so she was the closest living person in relative distance to him upon discovery and is responsible
I was playing some quests out of order, so before making my decision in “ Here congress the power “
I decided to finish the grave site fees, I literally just read your spoiler and short while later got to it in the quest line and it STILL made yell out
“ FUCK. ME!” when I got to the same dialogue.
Yeah I did not GAF about Felix and was kind of insulted he insinuated himself into my crew
Like he BELONGED
I kept him on board, wasting away, because I mean no harm to me, but I was secretly hoping there would be a mission where you could sacrifice a companion to cannibals
I really enjoyed the other companions though, they all immediately jumped out as interesting takes on usual archetypes. I think in that respect Felix is actually pretty interesting, in that he's this complete nobody who is just latching on to you to be somebody and is very open about that
It would actually have been kind of disappointing if it turned out he was a super spy or something (maybe he is???)

Mine was from getting caught stealing stuff a lot
Because I know I can bluff my way out of it I'm not always real careful to do it discreetly
I'm pretty sure most of those were actually landmines
Fuckin glowstick ears everywhere
I decided not to take it, it's
Mine was a reduction in perception and some other stuff if I haven't done drugs recently, so my plan is just to be on drugs ALL THE TIME
