There are two other folks who donated but used their real names and who I can't figure out who they are on the forums, so thank you two as well, you know who you are.
I was one, you are very welcome! Congrats on your goal.
I just learned I have been usuing titan quest's inventory system incorrectly regarding their.....socket system.
Also, just reached outer mongolia, a nation that should be in more games considering how big an impact it had on world history, and I am not just talking about flying corpses.
Picked up Life is Feudal: Forest Village for a bit over $5. It’s been called a copy + paste of Banished with better graphics. I never played Banished, so I couldn’t say how accurate that is.
It’s very slow. Even with time sped up 10x it takes forever for things to get built. I’ve enjoyed it so far, though. It’s a nice little built-this-thing-to-get-that-resource-to-make-that-other-thing city builder in a medieval setting, with a pleasantly chill soundtrack.
Starting a village from scratch has some... disturbing implications. The only way your village population grows is by your villagers having children, and you only start with two people if you start from scratch. I imagine my village being populated with people of the Shadow Over Innsmouth variety.
OK, "a copy and paste of Banished with better graphics" sold it to me.
Well, actually, solid it to me to give to the Mrs, as the amount of time she put into Banished probably hit triple-digit hours.
I need to look at these Stardew alternatives for the same reason...

What do you do for 300 hours in banished?
As far as I can tell, watch the little people die in a variety of gruesome ways, whilst swearing a lot.
Still love him despite this major shortcoming. Thank you Isy.
Planescape:Torment is one of my all-time favourite games and I am pretty happy to see a thematic successor to it.
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare Animated Calling Card
$30:
Kingdom: New Lands
Bastion
Rapture Rejects
Kings II: Dynasty Starter Pack
19 more items to be unlocked
So this is obviously $30 for charity (or more! Noone will stop you) but fair warning because it's not a usual Humble Bundle offering: Jingle Jam is mostly a bunch of crud.
Crud as in DLC for shovelware games, a skin or two for a 10-year-old shooter, a flash game they converted over to Steam, etc. There is no big headliner game on the last day or anything.
Chances are if there's anything even remotely decent ($5-$10 worthy?) anyone that frequents this thread already owns it. But go in with the mindset that you want to donate some cash near the holidays, and you're all good!
Edit: Yogscast is a streamer team. So they partner with games that have been featured on their streams. They dont give out the latest and greatest but I would hardly call it names.

To each their own! Personally, I didn't even bother redeeming 70% of what was unlocked last year.
Still buying it to donate, though.

I just wanted to follow up and say it was 386 hours in Banished, and 872(!) in Stardew. So alternate recs in that genre are very welcome as I start looking for Christmas gifts...

The Mrs will feel right at home in Forest Village, then. I had a nice little community going and forgot to get rid of some bodies of people that starved. The entire village then caught the plague and died.

This Turkey Dale I snagged Imperator Rome ahead of it's big update on Dec 3rd. I decided to play as Ptolemy I, one of Alexander's generals who set himself up as pharaoh of Egypt in Alexandria. I even got to build the Pharos Lighthouse!
Then I decided to join a cult so that the commoners would accept me as a living god (and divine marriage of siblings)
unfortunately with all the cult-related partying that commenced, I ended up dying of a venereal disease
but fear not! Egypt has a new, strong leader, worthy of being worshipped as a living god...
all in all, Im having a fun time getting my Egyptian on, though perhaps I wish there were more flavor events and cat kings ala CK2
I've been enjoying Oxygen Not included now more than I ever did when it was in Early Access. Its a bit of a learning curve but once you learn how to do something like get a running shower in your colony then you can apply that to ventilating the carbon dioxide your dupes are producing with their selfish breathing. Its also macro controlled so you dont have to micro manage what each individual dupe does you can design a building and they will prioritize what they need to do according to their skills. Im nearing the end game now and each success comes with a new challenge to process and overcome, which leads to new equipment to help overcome the challenges.
I remember people thought Imperator Rome was pretty bad when it first came out. But I also didn't pay it much attention, because Rome doesn't hold much interest for me.
I take it Paradox' constant tinkering has improved the experience a bit since then?

Yeah they did a big update called Cicero that fixed a lot, and the next big one is called Livy which comes out on the 3rd. Paradox does post launch support the best out of any publisher/developer IMO https://youtu.be/gCxb-tIs3BE
Finished Guacamelee 2! Really good platformer! I believe I got this from a Humble Monthly. Some of the platforming can be really crazy hard though. But it's a very good game!

Just when I thought I was done with Steam and lost to the Switch, I decided to have a look at what Civ games were on sale.
I ended up buying all of the DLC for Civ V and the complete Civ VI.
MY BACKLOG IS ETERNAL
Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
To be fair, 6 is a whole 'nother can of worms with it cribbing all sorts of Endless Legend stuff like adjacency bonuses and what not...which I find didn't really work and would have much rather preferred Civ 5? But I also found out I'm kind of terrible at 4X games or just got really burnt out on them?
Edit: Speaking of Stardew, the artist who used to frequent these forums and currently is drawing the webcomic Speak of the Devil did some Stardew Valley portrait redesigns

Two nights ago, @Big Classy was flabbergasted to find out that I had gifted him Halo Reach without owning it myself. Well he certainly rectified that, by sending me the entire Master Chief Collection. Thank you so much.
@Viking and I were having a super awesome conversation about how great ODST and Reach were, then he thought it would be amusing to gift me even more Halo. Thank you very much for Halo Wars, I had this on my 360 and played some of it, but now I can get back to it.
You're both amazing and two of my absolute favorite people in the whole world.

Why would you buy the DLC for 5 and then the whole package for 6?
For the same reason that everyone else spend money on Steam.
BECAUSE IT WAS ON SALE

I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

For anyone planning on replaying RE4, I would wait just a little bit longer. Albert is almost done working on the RE4HD mod. His work rules and should have been done by Capcom for a proper HD release instead of stretching textures to fit widescreen resolutions.
