Everyone says this game is fantastic, and I confess I've not actually played it myself; but that's because I bounced hard off (what I've heard, and seen in LPs, is) the premise, presented with positively Spielberg-ian levels of sentimental manipulation:
That it's better for someone to die remembering not their actual life, full of regrets and disappointments and awkward moments and loose threads, but a cleaned-up, sanitized, dramatized, fictionalized, professionally-crafted version of the life they wish they could have had - rejecting truth and reality in favor of a more pleasing lie.
That it is just fine for people - enough to make a successful business out of it - to want to replace their real pasts, the relationships and experiences they had (or didn't), with "the movie", and for our protagonists to enable them.
I'd hang up a "CHANGE MY MIND" sign, but that's basically the issue, isn't it? :?
I would absolutely pay a fortune to go to my death remembering the life I wish I'd lived instead of the one I have. And I guarantee I'm not alone in that sentiment. If this were a real possibility, it would be a *booming* business.

I read the original in the library as a kid. This is not quite as grimdark a version, but damn if it doesn't hurt.
alan moore wrote the original, so...
The animated adaption is actually one of the only adaptions he approved of and allowed to be added in the credits. Even Alan Moore realized the Batman The Animated Series universe was legit.
He also wrote it at the request of the artist, right after he got approval to do Watchmen, so he was actually in a positive mood when writing it, which is very un-Alan Moore!
Also, where's my superman game already dammit
when I was a dumb kid, I preordered Superman 64. I was a really, really dumb kid.

I actually traded in a bunch of SNES and Genesis games for it.
An action game starring Superman would be silly because he's invulnerable. No, if I were making a Superman game, I'd make an adventure game where 75% of the time you're playing as Clark Kent, investigative reporter. You'd have to come up with creative ways to quietly sneak away from Lois and Jimmy when a giant monster is tearing up Metropolis and you'd have to pick believable excuses for them from a dialog tree afterwards.

They already made a Superman game. Multiple ones. Most recent, not counting things like Injustice, in 2006 as a tie-in to Superman Returns.

I'm fine with being invincible except for bosses/late game enemies, and have the game be about minimizing collateral damage reflecting in how the public views you. Let too many buildings get smashed and people elect Lex to take you out. I dunno, there's a lot of ways to be creative with it
Who's played Prime World Defenders? What should I be using my stars on?

A sad day today. Set Monster Hunter: World to downloading overnight (and a good bit of the day). Start it up, get past the opening options and... stops loading.
Three more attempts to start it up and I'm afraid to say it just won't go. MHW will have to wait until I get a new computer.
EDIT: Six minutes later, @Blackhawk1313 pegs me with Garfield Kart. Guess I know what's getting played on Friday Funday, eh?

His abilities were subjected to power creep as successive writers had a go at him. There's at least one recent series that's used some of his more classic interpretations as the basis so stuff like no heat vision, enhanced hearing, and only able to leap tall buildings at a single bound instead of full on flight. Playing as that would throw a lot of people for a loop though. A game based on his slightly later interpretations where he has some more of his iconic powers but isn't yet invincible to almost anything not kryptonite or magic could be compelling.
Superman's invulnerability is extremely variable. Also, Thor is also entirely immune to bullets (and honestly almost anything under the level of "superscience laser") but you don't see people complaining that you couldn't make a game with Thor being playable!

When was the last time they made a game with Thor?
It's been quite a week so far and I've been exhausted and yet unable to sleep enough, which has made for some interesting times, but then I wake up to something like this and I worry what y'all get up to sometimes - for I have also, been karted. If there isn't lasagna used for boosting or some such, I shall be severely disappointed. Thanks (you crazy late night monster) @Blackhawk1313 for Cats (and dogs) in Karts!

I've played it, @Talus9952 ! I loved it. Fantastic TD game (assuming you don't mind the terrible voice acting and eye-rolling character costumes).
I don't remember! I installed it and booted it up, but I'm totally lost. It looks like I've already bought all the talents, so I can't help sequence them for you, and the game seems to have added a lot of stuff since I played way back in 1897. Sorry - I'd hoped my memory would be jogged, but it was not. Not helpful I'm afraid.
EDIT:
Here's my card loadout how I left it:
I think I strongly favored lightning and dragon towers, and lots of direct damage/AoE for spells. I seem to recall prioritizing talents that gave you more prime to work with during rounds?

The thing with THOR is that he hasn't been made out to be a god in pretty much all the media he's been in. I recall the last episode of Justice League Unlimited being one where Superman basically says the only reason he doesn't beat Darkseid x Braniac outright is because of the damage it would cause to everything around him on Earth. That is hard to work with.
THOR is strong, but he isn't the strongest, and he's clearly able to be bloodied and beaten as we've seen. Superman can't even feel "cold" unless he's severely weakened by lack of yellow sun.
That said I'd like for someone to take a stab at it.
I don't remember if it was the Superman Returns game, or just an idea somebody had for a Superman game, but their idea was that since Superman is mostly invulnerable, his "health bar" should really be the health of the city.
It was an interesting idea that I'm not sure how it would ever actually work.

Yeah; you test Superman not by pitting him against problems he can punch but by testing his morals and threatening the things he loves in ways that he can't (again) just punch his way through.
Making the fail condition be colleratel damage is probably the easiest/best way to let the player control Superman at his full power. The other idea of "playing as" Clark Kent more than Superman is real good. Could even let the game then still have some Superman sequences, but only after Kent has done the investigating and made excuses about his bladder acting up or whatever.
It seems pretty clear that Superman games are hard to do, if approached as a "traditional superhero game", because the character isn't threatened or tested by physical contests like the other stars of popular superhero games. Batman/Spider-man being the two examples that come to mind first. And even Spider-man is pretty well above the mortal base-line.

As a video game, yeah it is. Very much so. But in media, it leads to some of the best stories. To use the ur-example:
That man won't quit as long as he can still draw a breath. None of my teammates will. Me? I've got a different problem. I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard, always taking constant care not to break something, to break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control even for a moment, or someone could die. But you can take it, can't you, big man? What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut loose and show you just how powerful I really am.
And just in case it isn't clear from the above, I'm a big fan of Superman.

Most of Supermans enemies are more powerful than him, especially because of his weakness to magic there's even D tier magic based DC villains that can pose a threat to him. That even opens up 'grounded' Clark Kent journalist levels where you team with Constantine to tackle magical threats. And there's tons of mcguffins in the comics that take away or neutralize his powers. None of the Superman games ever really leaned into that, was just 'fly around and beat up bad guys' or only used kryptonite.

Boy that was a long game not helped by the grind.
It was still really god though, but boy am I glad to be done with it (although I might check weekly for armor pieces to buy).
But that's not the real reason I'm posting right now.
The real reason is I just watched this trailer and realised I have another couple more months before Doom Eternal comes out!

Getting started with BATTLETECH: Part 1 / Part 2
Actually, the most recent game with MARVEL's Thor in (not counting mobile games) looks like LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes 2 in 2017.
The last game Thor was in on his own, which is clearly what I was talking about, was Thor God of Thunder in 2011 for the movie tie-in.
That it wasn't done on a Monday seems like a missed opportunity for extra lols.
