When the winter sale ended I had 0 euro in my Steam wallet. Decided I would slowly start selling some of the CSGO items I had gotten over the years to see if I couldn't get enough together to buy a Valve Index. Also trading cards and other random stuff for a small % of the money I needed. I was only just over 50 euro away from my goal when these items sold at the same time. So I kinda..overshot my goal a little bit.
Bless Russians and their CSGO money.
Please ping me if the Valve Index is back in stock. Don't want it to sell out again before I have a chance to buy it.
I think I've gotten through most of the story beats of OBRA DINN and phew, boy, those poor bastards. I've identified 15 of em, their untimely ends and who (or more ominously, what) did them in and I can tell you now I hope I wasn't Shanghai'd in a past life because if this is any indication it would've been rough out there. 45 lost souls to go
Noticed something conspicuously absent from the Rockstar sale - no GTA4.

The game is still on Steam, but the ability to purchase it has been removed. A spokesperson from Rockstar explains why:
"Grand Theft Auto 4 was originally created for the Games For Windows Live platform. With Microsoft no longer supporting Games For Windows Live, it is no longer possible to generate the additional keys needed to continue selling the current version of the game," a Rockstar representative said. "We are looking at other options for distributing GTA4 for PC and will share more information as soon as we can."The game is still on Steam, but the ability to purchase it has been removed.
I wonder what the actual chances are of them stripping out GFWL and making it saleable again. It's happened with other games/publishers, but R* hasn't shown much interest in doing that before that I've noticed.
It's the only main series one I don't have on Steam, which is why I was curious.

They will replace all the songs with Kidz Bop versions.
I'm finishing up the last of the Shadow of War DLC, and it's certainly the best Assassins Creed game I've ever played. It's also an extremely Tolkien story, even if it takes liberties for the sake of fun and cool.
Eltariel and Baranor are extremely cool side characters that manage to feel quite different from Talion with unique combat animations for each. The Numenorean gauntlet is awesome, and being mortal makes you consider your tactical approaches much more carefully. It makes Lord of the Rings seem bigger, since you're exploring events like the fall of Minas Ithil or what was going on in the South during the time between the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. There are also some EXTREMELY NERDY references like an ancient Orc sniper going by the title "Bow of Morgoth" and like all things First Age, he's just unstoppable.
I repeat the third game should be called "Shadow of the First Age" and kick things up to Platinum games level insanity.
It almost feels like cheating. Being able to voice com completely changes everything. You know who the killer is faster. You know where the killer is at more often. You can work together to do things or split up to cover more of the map. You can even change around your perks to help each other out & stuff. For example, one of us would always put on Kindred so that both of us would have more information. Plus you know that at least one of your teammates is competent, guaranteed.
I can't imagine what a 4-person experienced group playing together would be like. I can't see them losing too often.

I never did play through that second DLC in Shadow of War. I was intrigued by it, but by the time it came out, I was also fatigued by Shadow of War. This was before the big patch that apparently altered the endgame content of the base game.
Having played through Shadow of War twice (Once at launch, once after all the DLC and patches) it's definitely a much improved experience, and the minor dlc tribe additions add missions that make it very easy to recruit high level orcs to your side, making the already truncated endgame even easier to get through. I think it took me over 70 hours on my first placethrough while I did it in half that time on my second.
I repeat the third game should be called "Shadow of the First Age" and kick things up to Platinum games level insanity.
Did you finish the main game, and more importantly the Eltarial DLC?
Third game is absolutely going to be "Shadow of the Bright Lord", both from where Shadow of War/ the DLC ended up (Calebrimbor obviously being a grade A douchebag, and escaping from Sauron when the ring is destroyed) and because of the word play between "Shadow" and "Bright Lord"
I got a friend of mine to start playing Dead by Daylight with me. It's a night & day difference when you're duo queuing as opposed to solo queue.

Oh...yeah, voice coms are total fucking cheats unless the killer is in them as well.
Or like, they are distance restricted but if the killer gets close they can hear in and survivors can't hear you if they get too far away. You know, like real people talking to each other.
I remember going against a group of four doing survive with friends on discord while streaming and had to camp one or two to even get a kill since they would immediately swoop in and save their friend.
Rewatched their stream and they were a bunch of rage babies calling me a filthy camper because hey, if you immediately go and save your friend and the exits are open and you've hooked them too close for comfort to one of the jexits then I don't have much of a tactical choice.
It basically encourages the killer to do camping which is a tactic that no one enjoys.
As I'm sure you can tell, I really do not like survivor only voice comms in DBD.

Has anyone else tried the Disintegration tech demo? First, terrible name that takes me a moment to stop and think when typing it. (slightly kidding) Second, I feel like I'm piloting a 20-tonne wheelchair accompanied by 1995-quality AI companions.
Is this a real game? Am i missing something? Snark aside, I'm mainly wondering if I'm just not the market or am misunderstanding how to play.

I wouldn't mind that at all. But the First Age is the time of Tolkein's god-heroes. And artists and technology have finally reached the place where simple one sentence lines like, "Earendil took his flying ship to fight a dragon the size of a mountain," or Morgoth confronted Ungoliant" can actually do it justice. And then Rules of Nature kicks in.
I know, the estate has a death grip of the Silmarillion. But it's such a rad period I want someone to have a go at it.
Not done with it yet. Gonna do some Hue stuff on the backside of the monitor, get my old Dell g-sync monitor running as secondary (it developed a stuck/flickering LED) and my RTX 2070 Super is coming in tomorrow. So, to celebrate, here's some stuff.

Streamer Oroboro is master class at playing killer and he thrives on the salt of pre-made survivor teams. He does lose occasionally, but most of the time he gets nearly all of them or full wipes. At end of match he just types "GG" in chat and waits for the salt to roll in.

The second dlc was so much better than the first elf one
Also being able to cut regular orcs into giblets with the grappling whip thing was so awesome
I want them to make an alien vs predator game with 3 campaigns for humans, predators and aliens using the nemesis system. Ie, unique captains for each race, not necessarily recruiting enemies. Instead maybe recruit your own race, like as a queen making a new hive for aliens, predators recruiting to their clan, and humans hiring mercenaries as soldiers. All set on like a planet where they’ve crashed together and have to take over territory.
Also I think 3rd person would suit the franchise more than the traditional FPS direction, because first off I wanna see my character if I’m a predator or alien because the monster design is so badass and iconic. Secondly with lots of movement and hanging upside down with aliens, or jumping from tree to tree with predator, I feel like 3rd person would be easier to control and less disorienting.
Man thinking of doing stealth kills as an alien or predator in the shadow of war engine with their animation quality...
I may have thought about this to the point of getting upset that it isn’t real
I've ranted about this over in the doom thread, but i'm still pissed so i'm going to swear about it over here!
Looking at getting Doom Eternal. Because gotta rip and tear right. Check the price: 120 NZD.
Wait what.
Check usd price: 59.99. Which is 92 NZD.
So apparently living out in NZ requires some sort of pixel-shipping tax according to bethesda. If i go elsewhere on the net i could get it cheaper, but with a bethsenda key only. (And really, i just like having a single interface to boot all my shit through).
Oh and i could even order a physical (read: code in box) for cheaper too in NZ. So.. what the fuckity fuck, Bethseda and steam?
So, I mentioned that I was looking at VR setups, and trying to find ones that ship to NZ, and it prompted @Spoit to drop what appears to be quite an interesting game - and one of the worst puns of all time.

There's still some Dead by Daylight DLC that I need & don't own but man, I'm really struggling right now to not just buy the Auric Cells. So many pretty cosmetics in the store!

Buying cosmetics for a game that is perpetually dark and foggy seems silly.

Or this one:
It's less to do with the bopability of the song and more a bunch of kids singing they want to take their clothes off.
