I'm sure there's at least one regular reader for every "meh" comic. Even the weak ones have the occasional good strip.

This is where you get to validate your loyalty to the strip to internet people.

    this is one of those comics that i don't so much read

    as i do get linked to when it's a good one by a dude who reads it regularely

    saving me having to read the shitty ones

    I have noticed a significant disparity between the art and the script.

    If he had someone good writing for him it would be 100% gold.

    Back in high school I was going to do some comics for the school paper, and the dudes running it said that I needed a writer.

    The two comics I submitted involved rape.

    "Where's the punchline?" They would ask.
    "There's a dude getting raped in the bathroom stall. There doesn't need to be a punchline," I would reply.

    Also, it's usually pretty visually funny when Jon gets really scared by something.

    Man, I don't read VG cats but every one I get shown is great.

    There aren't many comics I've read with a visual joke as well executed as "rape is never funny"
