Per Hollywood Reporter, Taika Waititi will write, direct and executive produce two original animated series based on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

The first series will be based on the world and characters of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, while the second is a wholly original take on the Oompa-Loompas
Per Netflix, the shows will retain the quintessential spirit and tone of the original story “while building out the world and characters far beyond the pages of the Dahl book for the very first time"

Ok. Castlevania season 3 (mild spoilers)
It starts out slow, but holy shit the last few episodes are insane.
P.S: Definitely deserves its 18+ rating.

Out of sheer boredom I started season 2 of Altered Carbon. It's... better. Anthony Mackie solves the sheer charisma vaccuum issue that season 1 had for a protagonist. But it still just feels like an immense waste of an incredibly cool premise.

Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

Overall I think season 2 does a lot less interesting things with the premise, and even Anthony Mackie can't save some of the ways the plot goes.

Babylon 5 - Sleeping in Light is up there

(also The Deconstruction of Falling Stars was filmed to be the series finale. Does that count?)

Wasn't that the other way around? They filmed Sleeping in Light as a series finale during season 4 (because they weren't renewed on the current network), then got picked up for a 5th season on a different network, then whipped up Deconstruction to just be the season finale. And saved Sleeping in Light to use at the series end.

Yeah, that's why Ivanova shows up in Sleeping in Light, but not in Deconstruction.

The Last of Us doesn't even need the sequel it's getting, let alone other media adaptations. It was perfect as it was. Leave it alone.

I really like The Last of Us, but like Uncharted is one of those games that just doesn't need an adaptation.

At least live action clickers should be cool if they use practical effects.

The problem with a lot of game adaptations is that are already based on movies so now you’re making a movie based on a game based on a movie.

It’s a xerox effect. Each copy of a copy is worse than the previous copy

also, games are based around the notion of interaction

    movies aren't

I liked The Last of Us a lot, but all of the moments that would work really well as a TV show or movie (that smash cut at the end of the first chapter, the whole ending sequence, the giraffes, the framing of the Winter chapter) all... Already worked just fine as a game, so I don't find myself dying to see it live up to it's potential or anything. It kind of already did for me.

Do we know if it's just following the game story or is it a new story in the game world?

Because the latter I think would be super cool.

Supposed to be covering the first game, maybe some from the second. Apparently the TLOU movie that was floating around has been ditched for this as well.

Dunno, liked the first game, been pretty upfront about being seriously cool about the upcoming sequel, kinda sick of zombie-apocalypse stories (or any apocalypse story where the excuse is to show humanity being the absolute worse to itself). We'll see.

Kinda funny watching Mazin being "guy who wrote a bunch of Scary Movie sequels" to this hot prestige producer now, but good on him.

Also a lot of video game movies are bad because the ones they make are already badly cribbing the stories from movies that did it better

They're not really similar at all. This take is very cold.
