So when I'm sitting at my computer, or watching TV, or at a friend's house playing Halo, or whatever, I usually like to be drinking something. The problem is lately this has been, more often than not, soda, and for the first time in a few years I'm beginning to gain weight from it. I drink plenty of water already, and hate most diet soda.
What are some good drinks without the sugar and/or caffeine of soda?

Really what options are there.
Fruit Juice (still contains sugar)
Alcohol (Beer and wine are full of empty carbs, spirits less so but you usually mix them)
Diet drinks (your don't like them)
Milk (better but still has carbs in it though it isn't full of sugar)
tea. fruity, girly tea! I favour a raspberry and lemon blend. It can also be consumed cold, although you have to wait a while for that. Its like using cordial to flavour the water, only without the heaping dose of sugar.

Most of the world drinks tea regularly because: It's good for you! It doesn't have much sugar! There's so many varieties! It can wake you up (or not!) It can be iced too!
Seriously, tea rocks. We often have entire threads in H/A devoted to tea.
Oh yeah, I tend to drink Propel in vast quantities too. Gatorade is too sweet for my tastes and I end up cutting it with about 50% water anyways. It's also cheap in bulk.
When I'm not boozing or soda-ing, it's almost always tea. I particularly like Yogi Tea brand, some Twinings (some of their teas are actually awful), most Market Spice, and Golden Sail Lychee Black in addition to teas I get from specialty shops that don't really have a "brand" per se.
Green tea is the only thing I can stand to drink regularly without sugar though, and I get mine direct from the Seattle's Best Teain the ID which is practically unknown to the non-Chinese. Just avoid the Ten Ren boxes... worst tea ever.
Try Diet Dr. Pepper. Tastes the closest to regular soda of anything I've ever had.
Also, Crystal Light. If you buy the canisters with 5 mini-tubs of it at Wal-mart, it's way cheaper than soda, and it's only got 40 calories per 2 quarts, which is probably around 5% of soda.
Hopefully you live in the NW, otherwise you might be hard pressed to find anything other than Twinings. Also, stay away from the big name brands like Bigelow's black tea. Their herbals are passable. Stash is passable to poor on most. The best thing you can do is find an honest to goodness tea shop and get loose tea from small growers/importers who know what tea is supposed to taste like.
Where chai is concerned, Yogi tea makes some mean bags, but Morning Glory makes the best premixed bottles. Nothing beats the stuff my fiance makes on the stove though... I'll ask her what it is when I get home from ye olde night shift. That stuff even beats the best Indian restaurant chai.
I love straight Earl Gray myself. Let that sucker soak for a bit too. No sugar, no creamer, no bullshit. Just a packet of delicious tea and some steaming hot water. Has a real earthy taste.
Also I down San Pellegrino mineral water like mad. It's sparkling natural mineral water that I get by the case at Trader Joe's. The carbonation makes it feel like a soda, but it's just cool refreshing water and a pinch of sodium. I used to drink soda every day, and then I realized I was going to drink myself into some horrible health problems, so I switched to this stuff.
For starters, try some different diet soda's. Personally, I cant stand diet coke/pepsi. I can drink diet dr.pepper, but I dont like it. I found my love in diet sprite(or sprite zero, or whatever they call it). Tastes better, to me.
Tea's are good. I work in a coffee shop, and we actually have some good tea's, which I try to drink often(too many fattening drinks at my work, I need something to relieve the temptation).
Not big on caffine? Try some decaffinated coffee's. Something like a decaf nonfat latte with sugar free vanilla and caramel might be right up your alley(please dont hate me for giving a suggestion like this :P)
As well, if juice is ok, diet sprite (or any clear diet soda) and orange juice can make what almost seems like an alcohol free mamosa, which is pretty tasty. Crystal light kicks major butt too, as far as calories as concerned. They even have those little straw things with just enough for about a 16ounce water. Glorious
I have very weak teeth, so I'm always on the lookout for good drinks without sugar in them.
I've pretty much ended up with: black coffee (mornings), ice water (you said you drink enough, but still, it's great no matter where you are), and unsweetened iced tea w/lemon (my favorite).
One drink I highly recommend is SoBe Adrenaline Rush Sugar Free, it has that cool guarana/taurine taste without the sugar crash later. You can pick it up at gas stations and the like. (I only drink these on the weekend though, and even then only one a day - coffee is enough during the week.)

Are you a Software Engineer living in Seattle? HBO is hiring, message me.
I really am partial to Newtons Own Limeade, it's really quite good. And not all that "sugary"
Also, if you really like soda, there's a bunch of different carbonated waters that have flavor--some are really sweet, some just have a little bit of flavor, it really depends on what your tastebuds like.
Personally, I can't stand how sweet Crystal light and that stuff is.

Fresca is a diet soda that doesn't taste like a vogon armpit.

Energy drinks, even sugar-free ones, should be avoided as a regular thing. One a day on the weekends isn't bad, but you don't want to make a daily habit of them; Pounding multiple stimulants through your body every day isn't the best idea for health.

That limeade is good but it's got more calories than non-diet soda (140cal for 8oz limeade vs 110-150cal for a 12oz can of soda)

He's already drinking soda/coffee, which contain as much or more stimulants. Energy drinks are the most over-hyped thing ever. I don't think he should drink them because they taste like acetone, but that's just me.

Energy drinks have more caffeine, and usually multiple other stimulants. They have way more than soda/coffee.

No, they don't have more then coffee. A few do (Cocaine, BooKoo, a couple of brazillian Guaranacolas) but most of them have far less then drip coffee. They're stronger then most soda, though.
Regular rockstar and redbull are only about half as potent as regular coffee. The other stuff in them is actually mostly stuff to make the stimulation 'smoother' - ie taurine, ginsing, ginko - The only other real 'stimulant' in most of them is l-carnitine.
I'd say definitely go the tea route. I green tea with a little honey is good, earl grey is very tastey so is chamomile right before you go to bed puts you OUT!
Try pink grapefruit juice. I like it a lot and find that after a glass of it your set for a while.
I'm fond of cranberry juice mixes, personally, particularly cran-raspberry when the supermarket has the frozen concentrate in stock. I water my juices down all to hell, though.

My friends also like Chai.

Otherwise, yeah, tea is good, since there's a lot of flexability; strong/weak, hot/cold, non/caffineted, etc.
