There is going to be an all out war for songs and style between Guitar Hero and Rock Band. And TBH, I think Rock Band will win, because Harmonix were the ones creating the jewel patterns. And MTV has a better name with rock bands.
Also, I'm willing to bet that the button change is specifically to fuck over Harmonix going forward, so that Rock Band can't use GH controllers.

Gameplay can't evolve much... Otherwise the large amounts of people who just bought an X-plorer would be pissed as all hell.

Well, that's true, but it would have been easy to do Tribute and just hide the curses with guitar noise.
This will be my first GH purchase (only have a Wii), so the controller issue isn't a problem for me.
I would quite figuratively kill a man for Beelzeboss. Tribute would rock the cocks too.
Beelzeboss would rock for two player co-op, one person playing the metal guitar, another playing the acoustic. It would be sex on a stick.

There are a few fingerplucking songs that would be quite nice to play. Blackbird for example.
