The eskimo and the Gorons in WW were both merchants who came from faraway lands (obviously, the Gorons left Death Mountain), so I kind of expected them to be addressed since the sequel should be set far away from the Great Sea of the first game.
As for these chasers, think SA-X. It was executed really well.
Chasers sound scary. I hate wallmaster I can't imagine something like them that can actually kill me.
Hey, what if they combined Wallmasters and old school Likelikes. Takes you to the start of the level and eats your equipment.
That sounds awful.
Granted, I have a passionate dislike for both enemies named, but still... Awful.
As for the chasers, I'd be willing to bet that they were replaced by the sand/life loss mechanic mentioned a few updates ago. It seems to be in the same vein, really. I'd be surprised if both were present, anyway. Now it could also be that the main dungeon has the sand/life loss and some sub-dungeon(s) have chasers present, but that's purely speculation.
I like the looks of this game. Being something of a Diablo veteran, I think the control scheme will be easy enough to pick up. Hopefully, I won't be flat broke when this drops.
Oooh boy I can't wait for this. I love the Wind Waker style, I think it's held up really well, I was replaying WW a few months ago and I still think it looks wonderful.
I'm seriously hoping for some kind of special edition gold DS lite with Triforce decal like they did with the SP for Minish Cap. Finally give me an excuse to upgrade from my DS heavy.
In the "master dungeon" and other locales there are enemies known as "Chasers". These enemies follow the player, cannot be defeated, and can kill Link with one hit.
Apparently that's from Nintendo Power July 2006. If that is or still true I just became very sad.
I'm hoping that's out of date info because having to worry about a time limit AND invincible one-hit-kill monsters chasing you is pretty much my worst gaming nightmare.
As long as it's fair, I welcome a challenge. The time limit thing needs to be done well, usually it takes away from the experience more than it gives.
My problem with the game is that some of the environments, especially the dungeons, look far too bland and simple. I think the game should have remained 2D. Using simple sprites, we might have had the most gorgeous Zelda of all time.
Challenges are great. Invincible 1-hit kill enemies that follow you around are a bridge too far and can be better classified as "just here to annoy the shit out of you"
I dunno... most people agree the Dahaka was the best part of Warrior Within, and he fits that description to a T. I imagine these enemies will be very similar, only appearing in certain spots and only for prescripted events.
Thanks Vangu Vegro! The interview doesn't give away alot new informations, the girl in the commercial is cute though
That trailer is fantastic, and the graphics look stellar. I really can't wait for this one. I loved TP, but it's great to see that Aonuma's not afraid to experiment.
I still don't understand how the touch screen handles all the different commands. If you tap the screen to use your sword, won't Link just move into the enemy instead, since that's also how you move?

It could work the same way as Animal Crossing WW. Tapping certain things in that game such as signs or people didn't make you move in that direction.

Because the game can see if you tap the ground or an enemy?
It's all context sensitive. Link is smart enough to chop an enemy instead of walking into it when you tap it. If you really want to walk into an enemy, you would drag the stylus around or tap past the monster.

Logically, they should all be at the bottom of the sea, the fat bastards. :P What happened to the Zoras is worse; it can't be nice for a fresh-water fish to be salted to death..

Use the stylus to poke boobs?
Though seeing the Painting-face shop owner and Old Man Ho Ho brings back warm memories.
And I wonder why the eskimo in WW didn't have those nifty antlers. Wait did we ever see if he had real hands? Because these new guys have flippers.
Edit: The more I look at it, the more I think I'm stupid and Zennari was just a guy in an eskimo suit. He didn't really look like those new beasties.

and Medusa Heads that push you down the pits!

Intriguing.
Having all four agree on a game is a rarity.
Drawing notes on maps? Yes please!
Also, I noticed the water is not flat, and essentially resembles WW pretty damn well.
No "I" fully endorse this game!
I like the intro art.

Forum paradox.
But... I see 7-7-7-7, 8-8-8-9, and the like all the time...
this will be the first zelda game i've ever played.
There were those three gorons in the Wind Waker.
