ESA needs people to believe that without E3, there would be no expos or events centered around video games. They desperately need people to believe that they're filling a need that no one else can fill.

I like E3 as a time in which lots of announcements all drop at once with multiple stage shows, and there is a bit of fanfare to it
The ESA is fucking clownshoes though, the E3 event itself is largely superfluous and kind of seems bad as both a consumer event and a business event these days, and the whole thing probably just needs to go away, as much as I'd miss the concentrated announcement blitz since most publishers would likely space themselves out from other publishers shit
I've started playing Divinity: Original Sin II (on PS4)
I will say it already feels better to control on a console than Pillars of Eternity did. Still too early to say much else! I picked the Red Prince as my main and I like his style so far
Reminder that the ESA has doxxed everyone who has ever been to nearly any E3, and that they had internal presentations about how to cynically use wokeness to sell horrific gambling schemes to children, and has had absolutely zero accountability or consequences for any of this, nor have they even hinted at the willingness to not do it again in the future.
FF7 is delayed a month and Avengers is delayed 4 months
The delays aren't that long and this close to release it is actually a refreshing thing from a developer to decide to delay and polish things up rather than push through and have a mad scramble for a patch
It was around the time that Mike Mahardy started recounting half-remembered Sopranos scenes that my soul left my body and I started imagining a new, less tedious podcast

IIRC, Dan was responsible for the Homer drawing for the "Back off man, I'm a scientist" t-shirt from a Jackbox T-KO session.
Tetris is good.
For once, a non-controversial Dan opinion
Sometimes I will manage to squeak into the top 10 but I've never won
I think my best is... 3rd place? Maybe?
I’m guessing it’s basically them giving the heads up that they’re about to go on strike?

It's an expression of feelings but my hunch is that it probably precedes a strike
As Tube mentioned, if no action is taken, there will proabably be a strike.

It’s the first step in chancellor Palpatine’s scheme to take power.
I just did that in real life at the Scott Aukerman joke, "Do you think Kevin Smith ever makes jort films?"
E3 is handling Sony just fully jumping ship very well
I've gone from thinking it would be sad if e3 died to fully rooting for its demise
The fact that they actually responded to that, and did so with basically "E3 is good, actually" is something else, man.
Just wow.
The thing I'd miss is the Giant Bomb E3 panels, and a bit of the fanfare, but both of those could easily transition to a PAX type event

Honestly if the death of E3 meant that Vinny would come out to PAX West again, then by all means, kill it to death.

Every company should sit out of E3.

Still doesn't stop it from being funny to me.
Have YOU been there lately???
