Which one should I wishlist and maybe play some day?
I know I'm biased, but I genuinely think that FFX has the best combination of interesting gameplay mechanics, an incredible aesthetic, and really solid storytelling and character development.
It, uh, is also a particularly relevant story given our current political climate of corporate death-cults.
Would the spoilers be interesting for someone who knows barely anything about original FF7, aside from the one thing with Aerith thats been memed into oblivion?

six is like what if star wars but fantasy and there's a death clown instead of an emperor. It's pretty much the pinnacle of the early FF series, which had expanded on how classes worked and vastly expanded the amount of people you had access to. It's easily the best of that generation of FF games.
Seven is what it is. I love it and I think it stands up, but you have to get over the early 3d art and it being a product of its time. It also just doesn't have a strong magic system. The materia system seems interesting on its face, but basically means that by the mid-game, no character is different from another so the party can feel very bland.
Eight is a bad game don't @ me.
Nine is probably actually the best of the PS generation. It goes back to the straight up fantasy routes, it has a great party, and the magic and skill system is actually really fun and well implemented.
I basically don't have an opinion after than because I fell off of playing them, other than I think X is a bad game and I could never finish it.

There are elements in FF7 that have not aged well at all (in terms of being PC) that I think would bounce you right out of the game, so maybe avoid it?
Alternatively new FF7 might be a really fun way to hop in from what I’ve heard so far, though I’m spoiler free so i don’t know what buckwild changes they apparently made in the last act of Midgar.
Yeah that's basically the same layout of buttons as the ps4 controller. It just has a more xbox shape. Which considering I like holding the xbone controller more than the ps4 i'm fine with that.
The big thing I'm interested in with the PS5 controller is the adaptive triggers
I think in that big Wired article they talked about how they would like, adjust resistance based on context? Which I could see being really interesting in games that use it
Like imagine if webswinging in Sony's Marvel's Spider-Man 2: Spider-Men somehow integrated that, that could feel cool as hell

I have a feeling it'll be one of those things that only a handful of games will actually use in any meaningful way. Like how the PS4's touchpad was pretty much only used as a giant menu button.
xbox controller shape with centered sticks is really bad.
i'm also mostly done with listening to corporate speak about how this time, the controller rumble technology is going to completely change the game playing experience.
it never does, it never will, stop it.

adaptive triggers worry me cause boy you wanna talk about a feature that will suck absolute shit for people with certain disabilities if it isn't optional.

Oh yeah, obviously that's the shit you want to work out
If you want to spring for the classic hardware, it might be worth your while to go a step further and buy one of the ones that's been modified with an adjustable-brightness IPS screen. I hear tell they look real nice

Or if you don’t want to go that far there were two different models of the SP, one with like a front light and another with a backlight which is supposed to be way better. I think it’s the AGS-101.

Six/three, or any of the playstation ones though of those I lean 9 and 7 over 8 just because they are more representative of the series.

10 is probably the best for newbies to the series imo.
I don't think so.
PS5 breaking the all black Playstation launch aesthetic

...huh
I don't hate it
Not sure about the microphone, but I sort of like that the lightbar is a thing you can actually see now, as silly as it is as a feature
If it were all black or all white I would like it, right now it just looks like someone put a cover over a Dual Shock 4

It is the best one on the playstation by a large margin and ten has really bad voice acting I feel like will hold up very poorly without nostalgia.
They're pretty much identical to the DS4, so they're probably good.
"Is there somewhere we can be alone?"
"The only place around is the train graveyard, and they say there are ghosts there"
"...damn"
And I can't help but read that damn in Austin's voice, the whole exchange has enormous FaTT energy.

Man, those two are cowards. There's nothing scary about ghosts, trains or ghost trains in the FF universe:

Are there still snes classics in the wild?
Snes classic ideally
PC/Mobile is less ideal but okay
I could see myself playing a bunch of old GBA games I never did, including shit like Final Fantasy ports
I did this last year and it ruled
I have now joined the "where's Mother 3" people because hey that game, that I definitely played in the original Japanese, is fantastic
