The sword put out a remaster of gods of the earth recently and it sounds so much less muddy its kinda cool.
I really like how heavy this axe from that album
Also I was playing my guitar a bit earlier and I'm really noticing a bad habit of picking between the pickups which are kind far apart on my guitar. Makes the treble strings kinda quiet unless I play directly over the pickups. I suppose I could add a little more gain back.

best foo fighters is probably still the colour and the shape
It doesn’t have quite the same highs as The Colour and the Shape (“Everlong” being one of the best songs ever written, obviously), but I think as a whole There is Nothing Left to Lose is probably my favorite Foo Fighters record.

i'll be honest in that I haven't listened to anything post wasting light, but there's good stuff on every album between that and prior imo.
in your honor is kind of burned into my head as I listened to that whole double album on loop back in college grinding stuff in WoW for a while
And because of the instability of bitcoin they're using static dollar values for tracks so for $40 you can get their magnificent "Mortals" EP. Or you get it from Bandcamp without the 10,000% markup?
I get wanting to diversify away from Bandcamp but looking through the website for this thing I cannot for the life of me think of what benefit or innovation this has. Why does everything have to be about proof of ownership?
I am all about bands getting paid in the streaming hellscape but this is setting off all my "blockchain bullshit" alarms.
The one about the fucking space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tinfoil pal and a pedal bin
This reflexive assumption that many people seem to have that the blockchain must have some value or use. They can't say what it is but certain people are always talking as if the problem is just how it's being used.
Nope! No one has been able to demonstrate a single actual use for it.
I just find the people leaving bandcamp for other sites kind of odd and sad. I know many bands want to get their music out there and get a wider audience. As I do show people I work with some of the music I listen to but many never heard of bandcamp

Well, Bandcamp has its own problems since getting acquired by Epic, so that might be part of it

I've seen people who know much more about the fields in question say that there are some actual use cases for it that would be good - shipping/supply line management, apparently, could benefit from a largely inviolate write-only ledger to help track shipments. Unglamorous, but an actual use case maybe.
No one's interested in solving actual industrial problems with it though they want to do something flashy and make fat stacks and, well.

Same. But at least so far, in terms of my worst fears of a megacorp buying an indie music website, they haven't done all that much to destroy it. For which I'm thankful. We still even get Bandcamp Fridays, which is probably the most surprising thing.

There’s a lot of music I don’t like…it’s rare that I HATE a song though.
Luke Combs cover of Fast Car pisses me off.
These fucking white boy, bland ass country boys singing music written by an LGBTQ Person of Color about the life she saw around her growing up…I hate it.
Not only that but it’s basically the SAME song. Just with a little country “twang”
It makes SO ANGRY that it’s being played on Top 40 stations…

The Five Finger Death Punch method of covering a song after they tried to ape Disturbed's success with "Sound of Silence" and "Land of Confusion" and not understanding what made those covers appealing.
I wish I didn't know that Luke Combs cover existed. I listened to it (in privacy mode, I don't want Google to think I like garbage). Holy hell - how a dumb fucking white country singer thinks he has any right to take a story of a minority woman, in urban poverty, and decide that's his tale to tell is just horrific. Imagine in concert that cover is buried between two songs about trucks and drinking from garden hoses in the good old days as he hoists a red solo cup.
I'm actually glad the squirrels ate my car antenna wire because I hadn't had a chance to be exposed to that thing yet. Popular country is just such a continuing sesspool at this point. It's actually embarrassing hitting the country section of the record store - but they don't separate the Sturgill Simpson or Margo Price from the Jason Aldean yet!

Normally I would have never heard it but it found it’s way onto the top 40 station that’s always on in the car.

There's a new Oceanator single. It's awesome, and it was co-written with Greg Katz (of Cheekface), which is wildly exciting to me and probably like 8 other people. Song rules, regardless.
They play a lot of covers on the radio at work. I have tried to look up who sings some of these poor renditions. Like the Game of Love that Michelle Branch and Santana did as well as Smooth which are pointlessly similar . Fast Cars comes up but it's not the country one. The odd thing about the Santana covers is they are sung by different people a woman does smooth and a guy does game of love
I've neglected playing with a metronome so much I turned mine on last night and really bummed myself out because I just couldn't keep in time with it lmao
I'm trying to follow along with this to learn it but the chords are a little tricky because I'm still not good at sliding barre chords and the melody is just hard to follow because he's going through it fast.
I need to really scrub through slow and write it all down as tabs to help remember it

"Everlong" being one of the diminishing few 90's tracks to still have a secured place in such a prestigious appointment.
I am collectively happier with my decision, for a variety of reasons.
Biggest of them might be that Youtube Music recommends albums to me. Not 3+ hour playlists, just regular ol' albums.
As a result of this, I have listened to so much more jazz than I would have before hand.

I can't see what the benefit is beyond your "collection" being "on the blockchain." There's now a public record of tracks that are in your collection.
Now what does that remind me of

They just sent out a email newsletter that was a little vague but it would be about time. The last one came out almost 4 years ago now.
Edit: fuck though if they put something out soon that means I'll need to order the vinyl. I have to have the full collection lol.
I hope the mastering is better on it though. And they do a headline tour for it and end up in Ohio or Detroit.
They've only just recently introduced oars in their dragonship allusions.
