So I've been having a problem as of late with the forums making iTunes skip. I have visited a bunch of other web sites and have not been able to replicate the problem. Any help on fixing/diagnosing this?
Ha, you know I had that once! I was actually able to replicate it on other pages that had a lot of images loading at once. Opening a forum page here throws all sorts of graphics at you from the avatars and sigs, and while not large files, add up on a full page.
But restarting my computer fixed the problem.
As for general iTunes skipping problems when loading something, typically it's a problem with the ram. Not enough or faulty. There's no reason I know of these particular forums would cause a problem over other web pages, other than the image loading thing I mentioned earlier.
I'll do you one better than iTunes skipping, when I load certain pages on the forums (specifically the Post your Desktop thread) it causes the wireless on my router to crash. Joy. I have to walk into the room with the router, unplug the power and plug it back in then wait for my computer to reconnect.

Oh yeah, whenever I go in SE++, my desk punches me in the junk.
Right click on the taskbar, go to Task Manager.
Go to Processes, Right click iTunes.exe.
Set Priority, Above Normal.
This will put iTunes first in line for any processing time it needs. It shouldn't cause your other programs to run slow, since it shouldn't need more than 5-10% of it at any given time.
It skips for me with everything, the only time I can use it as a player is if its the only thing open (WinXP, Opteron 170 OCed, MSI K8N Plat Mobo).
I find the "auto-load" of songs onto the iPod is annoying. I am most angered by the fact that they didn't include a way to make folders and put songs in those folders. Thats all I want.
My nano has been collecting dust. I should find a third party app for song managment.
Namel3ss on
May the wombat of happiness snuffle through your underbrush.
Primary problems are:
The fact that iTunes is soooooooo much slower than even MPlayer11.
The music skips and stutters if I try to listen while playing a game.
You can't create folders on the iPod.
The god damned ads.

I know, it seems too weird to be true. I never did find a reliable way to fix it.

Why? iTunes is rad when you get used it.
I hate iTunes.

You know you can turn that off, right?

Why do you want to create "folders" in the first place? Are playlists not doing it for you?
