    I dont know what happened with them, but how does DNA prove it? He admitted to having sex with her, how does DNA prove or disprove consent?

    That was what the pre-trial turned on, basically. He claimed it was consensual sex, she said otherwise, and as often the case there was little other compelling direct evidence.

    His victim had vaginal lacerations inconsistent with consensual sex. He admitted to having sex with her once the detectives said she had submitted to a rape kit. And the lacerations could only have been caused within 24 hours of the rape.

    The only reasons he ever got to do any kind of paid spokesmanship after that are because he was a rapist who happened to be good at a game, he was rich, and we don’t believe women who are raped.

    I’m not, like, happy he’s dead. He should have had to face justice. And calling it “karma” or whatever is insensitive to all the other people who were killed in the crash, none of whom deserved it.

    Ok, thank you for highlighting the physical evidence. I dont need to be particularly pedantic, I'll accept that was what was actually meant by the DNA proof (not that I never needed proof, I was just honestly confused what was meant by that).

    I found out about this news from a friend who always makes "rip" jokes on facebook. When I saw the second one, I realized he wasn't joking.

    I did not know anything about the rape stuff until this thread.

    That's a pretty good point. I was never saying he wasnt a rapist. I was never making a case at all about the likelihood that he did what he was accused of. I was just confused about how DNA figured in.
