So I started Metro Exodus a few days ago, and I have to ask... was the writing always this bad? It's been forever since I've played the first two games so I don't remember if they were as bad, but the dialog is pretty terrible, in terms of both the script and delivery. Characters will talk over each other, but not in a way that sounds organic, it just feels like the scripting fired off someone else's lines before the first was done. I don't know if it's a translation issue with the original lines being shorter or what, but it's really unnatural.
Also, while hiding on a roof from some bandits, I heard pretty close to the following repeated ad nauseam within the space of a minute:
"There's a bitch up there!"
"Find the bitch!"
"We'll get you, bitch!"
"Where did the bitch go?!"
Terrible.
Every time I hear repetitive generated dialog like this, my brain replaces it with, "Don't forget to reload Dr. Freeman." "Reload Dr. Freeman." "Dr. Freeman, you need to reload."
in Division 2 when you find a location with a lot of food in it your AI buddy says "Rations nearby" but it 100% sounds like "Russians nearby" so everytime I hear it I start saying stupid shit in a russian accent. Its the little things that make you enjoy games.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
There was an achievement I got in the Master Chief Collection recently called "enemies everywhere!" and even though I didn't remember what game it was from until I googled it, I still heard it in that exact voice.
World of Horrors is neat. Gave the tutorial a spin, saved the school from a scissor lady.
If you ever played the old Macventure games(Deja Vu, Uninvited, etc) then you have the idea for what this is like. It has a roguelike twist to it however - on game creation you can select the character you want to play as(each with different stats), adjust the game parameters, pick the overarching mystery for the run, and it builds a campaign from a pool of various encounters (or you can just jump in with completely randomized stats). I'm going to try a full campaign and I expect to die in various gruesome fashions.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

Is "Frog Blasting the Vent Core" some new sex move I haven't heard about yet?
I can't keep up with you kids and your damned slang.
To spoil the joke @SmokeStacks - Marathon featured the BoBs (Born on Boards). Mostly they were pretty halpless crew people you tried to not accdientally frag. Later games introduced fake-BoBs who would charge and explode at you, while yelling nonsense like "Frog blast the vent core!"
Also, hey, if you've ever wanted to play Marathon, check out the Aleph One project! - Bungine legally realeased the source code and all that goodness, so you can go play a classic piece of gaming history.
I think the first two (especially the second one) are well worth a play. I honestly miss the text heavy storytelling approach old school games used at points, and Durandal is a treat of a character.
Well it's got a Synthwave 80s track for it so looking nice.
But I bounced off hard from Age of Wonder 2/3? Even though you can have smelly halflings and I've fallen of 4X games in general so I'm not the right person to ask.

I've seen the, "came out as a huge racist" thing a lot and go in expecting to be let down, but no, this is the real deal. Hitler's ashes just crawled out of the river to ask him to tone it the fuck down.
Going through the Twitter thread, apparently he came out long ago, having previously declared himself the Hitler of the New Age, called for the extermination of the beast races, and said that women don't have the nerve it takes to put their face on a company*.
*-he deleted his Twitter several hours after this last rant, after trying to pass it off as having a fever and sleeping in too late.
Apparently he's both the CEO and the only voting member of the board, and owes 60% of the company. Sounds like (repeating from Twitter rando with a blue check, know nothing of locally applicable law) unanimous vote of the other 40% (mixed claims of this being two or three other guys) could force him out, but would likely require a lawsuit to enforce.

Didn't the Dangen CEO and team also come out as creeps? Sucks that they're publishing Wonderful 101

edit: oh sexual harassment. He "stepped down" from the company in Dec.
Digital Development Management (DDM) has dismissed Ben Judd as Partner, Executive VP of DDM Japan. These actions were initiated by DDM as a direct result of the recent, serious allegations made against Ben. DDM takes workplace conduct and client confidentiality very seriously. DDM has now restructured its leadership team to address and accommodate the company's ongoing workload and client representation needs.

Am i the only one that feels dissapointed whenever a game comes out with a game named 'planetfall something' and it turns out NOT to be a remake/sequel of the old Infocom game?

I'm disappointed that they're never actually about planets falling out of the sky.

They are not movies of stars having wars or going on a trek. Sorry.

The CEO of the indie game developer PanicArt Studios decided to go down in flames with a lot of racism.
Warning: extremely racist

Apparently rob devs and sexually harass women, and it wasn't just the CEO that was being shady according to devs:
