The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Supposedly George Broussard has confirmed this 2nd image is also real and from within the game (rendered and not any special scene).
Again, it's tiny which makes one wonder why they are only ever that size, and what's with the super dark background. He said it was a very dark environment.
It also looks similiar to Unreal Engine 3 - but that's nothing against the claims or realness, just an observation.
That is the native resolution most games played at when DNF started production.
200 x 150?
naww... 320x240 was common, and pretty soon 400x300 and 640x480 were in the mix too, especially by the time DNF started development (after DN3D which supported 640x480)
Yeah, I'm pretty firmly convinced that this game does not exist.

...and I thought of how all those people died, and what a good death that is. That nobody can blame you for it, because everyone else died along with you, and it is the fault of none, save those who did the killing.

I think your sarcasm detector is broken.
Oh I thought it was having to do with claims of legitimacy... like there was something suspicious going on with the resolutions of these images - which there IS - but I thought he was just off slightly.

But I have to admit I really liked the look of that trailer from several years back. Not the pre-Half-Life one, the one with the civillians waiting for monsters to batter down the door and the cigar-chomping colonel explaining that they have the President.

The only things we've gotten from this build are the one shot of Duke in the car for the Gamasutra ad, and this. Everything else is from scrapped versions of the game.

My EIC joked with us yesterday that this is the second time our site has been hit hard because of a new DNF "screen". Gama got tons of hits from this. Wacky.

I have always said that is one of the best trailers for a game, ever.
It still is.
It's the 2001 trailer (look for high quality version)

Complete this sentence:-

If Starcraft 2 and DN:F are released in the same year then....
I'll eat my own cock.
Then I'll eat his shit which is made of his cock that you made him eat.
Just to let you guys know, I'm sigging this, so IF this does happen (though DNF will never release) you will have to do it. Not like those assholes from the SC thread who said that SC2 will never release and if it is announced they would eat their cock, like 2 pages before it was announed. Still have yet to deliver.
For each Duke Forever thread I step in and point out that the Duke 3D source ports are the greatest things ever, and give that game alot of new life.
Duke Nukem + Modern controls and high resolution = awesome.
Honest to god, work out a circle strafing control scheme, map the boot to the right mouse button and you're playing Halo.
so... are you going to link to the Source ports.
because i looked around for that exact thing with no success.
Nononon. He said source ports, not Source ports.
We're not talking about Duke on the Half-Life 2 engine here. That'd be crazy.
(I mean, didn't DNF already switch to that one, and then switch to some other one?)
ohh, okay. that makes more sense - i found the source ports the other day in my already mentioned quest to see if anybody was trying to port DN3D to the Source engine.

I'm surprised 3Drealms haven't released DN3D as freeware yet. I mean, does it really still sell? There's a whole gaming generation who aren't familiar with the franchise.

Joke thread of the week right here I suppose.
Oh hey you're right.
Not sure why you think this is a joke thread though - unless you mean simply because it's about DNF and those are always joke threads.
>.>
Thing looks awesome, though. My frothing demand for this game grows with ever titillating announcement.
*cough*
That was my point lol
It's a tie between this and Superman Returns The Game for most unfortunate title.

How about an actual screenshot, eh George?

It could be at the cleaners.
Maybe he just stepped out of the shower.
Maybe Duke walked into a pig bar mirroring the Blue Oyster and that guy was up on stage singing "YMCA."
Surprised? I'd expect them to anyway.
