Halo 2 Vista worst launch ever?

I know most are not following this but it seems to me that this is one of the worst game (or platform if you consider Windows Live) launch ever.
First it was delayed from the 8th to the 22nd but I can understand that. Then only one store releases it (Circuit City) and now it seems there is a hold/recall on it until June 1st.
There are some wild rumors out there such as the possibility of nudity :roll: , tray and play install bugs, and missing content.
Now I can't speak for everyone who were 'lucky' enough to get a copy before the hold went out but I just finished the Quarantine Zone and was asked to insert my DVD. Put it in (disc wasn't required to play up to this point) and I'm kicked back to the main menu. It seems the levels past that are missing or some such.
Did any of you guys happen to pick this up and get past the Quarantine Zone?
edit: Ok it seems that you can manually select the next chapter in the menu but it clears all of your checkpoints. But at least this way I can get on with the single player game. The multiplayer still seems hit or miss. There are a couple of servers with 5-10 players each but its up to luck if you can actually join the game or not.

I wouldnt call a port a launch. Its not like anyone has been eagerly awaiting it.

See, that would be fine (olol, Tranzor Z/Mazinger Z flashbacks FTW), it's when the nude human form is shown in a mundane, positive light that it's a completely evil, bad thing.
As for this being the worst launch ever because of bugs? Please, they're about 50 million bugs short of *insert random Bethesda Elder Scrolls title here* before they get to take that title.

According to the GFW guys, it's exactly the same story. I think I remember hearing them say they even had framerate problems.

Absolutely.
You rarely, if ever see the original developers handling ports. (which is part of the reason they are often such shit)

Well, you'd expect Halo 2 to at least have similar requirements to Halo 1 (which was still way over the top for an xbox port). Here's the minimum specs

Pretty much. Its a bloated port for an OS thats really still not ready on the support/driver end of things. Only upside is I'm set with a copy of Vista so when that must have DX10 title does roll around all I gotta do then is swap my 7800GT sli setup in for a DX10 card.
Outside of all the bugs and whatnot one thing that really pisses me off is the nerfed mouse movement (we can't play with xboxers so no exuse there). Its really sluggish feeling. Almost like its trying to emulate a gamepad's thumbstick (like the xbox k/m adapter).
