    OK real answers:

Favorite movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (runner up: Bring It On)
Movie that makes you remember your childhood: Willow
Favorite Tom Cruise movie: Cocktail (runner up: The Last Samurai)
Movie that makes you cry: Bicentennial Man
Favorite 80’s movie: Better Off Dead
    Favorite comedy: Wedding Crashers
Favorite sports movie: Any Given Sunday
Favorite courtroom movie: From The Hip
Favorite horror movie: In The Mouth Of Madness
Most overrated movie: The Big Lebowski
Movie you can watch over and over again: Die Hard with a Vengeance (runner up: The Last Boy Scout)
Movie you’re most embarrassed that you love: Cool World
Favorite Christmas Movie: It's a Wonderful Life (runner up: A Christmas Story)
Favorite sequel: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (if this doesn't explicitly mean "second movie in a series")
Earliest theater memory: The Great Mouse Detective
Favorite movie recent release: Sorry to Bother You (runner up: Knives Out)
Movie for which you have had the dialog memorized: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Note: My first movie theater-related memory is The Great Mouse Detective. I don't recall actually watching it. I was six. I vividly remember my father and mother driving through a torrential downpour to get to the theater. And we were late, which would mimic so many other family events in my youth. My first actual memory of being inside a theater watching a movie was Masters of the Universe (which I never knew until today does not actually have "He-Man" in the title) and The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, which came out within the same month in 1987.

Also: I have a lot of difficulty defining "favorite movie." From an artistic perspective, I think Lilja 4-Ever is the best film I've ever seen. But it's so unbelievably depressing, and in such a matter-of-fact way, that I probably can never watch it again. I'm not sure if I can call a film I literally can't watch my "favorite," but it is the best film I've ever seen from a "I respect what this film does and how it does it" perspective.

Favourite movie: Fight Club - but I think you can't pick a movie that's recent (less than half your movie watching life) to be your favourite movie, regardless of category. There's movies I've enjoyed more, and that are better made - but they've been replaced or forgotten in the meantime. If it's better than half of the films you've seen, then it's the one to beat as your tastes change.
Movie that makes you remember your childhood: Flight of the Navigator
Favourite Tom Cruise movie: Day After Tomorrow
Movie that makes you cry: Up
Favourite 80’s movie: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Favourite comedy: Shaun of the Dead
Favourite sports movie: Dodgeball or Baseketball, the two have blended together in my mind
    Favourite courtroom movie:
    Favourite horror movie: Split
    Most overrated movie: Forrest Gump
Movie you can watch over and over again: Hot Fuzz
Movie with the best soundtrack: Inception
Movie you’re most embarrassed that you love: Two-headed Shark Attack - wait no. I'm not embarrassed about that, I constantly tell people about it. Matrix Reloaded
Favourite Christmas Movie: Die Hard, but only because the 80's spot was taken and this is a worthless category. Muppet's Christmas Carol is in second.
    Favourite sequel: Aliens
Earliest theatre memory: Mrs Doubtfire I think. I had to look this up, that's definitely the first time I remember going to the cinema but at the same time I remember remembering that this cinema wasn't as nice as before, so it might have been the Little Mermaid.
Favourite movie recent release: Into the Spiderverse - only one I've seen again and enjoyed. There's a lot of others that I've liked but not done either of those two things.
Movie for which you have had the dialog memorized: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, not entirely by choice.
Favourite movie leftover after all of that: Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
Favourite movie you wish had a category on this here list: 4 Lions

    One more: Dredd

Well that's painfully generic. Oh well.

I love Flash Gordon. I don't think I even have anything else to add to or soften that statement. I just love Flash Gordon.

On a related note, Brian Blessed is a god damned treasure, and it's a crime that he never got to play Professor Challenger in a film.

Flash Gordon is amazing. Not an inch of scenery survives its cast. Sam J. Jones is the weakpoint, but it's just the perfect camp movie.

I think my favourite line reading is Topol's Dr. Zarkov attempting to force his assistant to board the untested rocket to Mongo and telling him to "Get your toothbrush and whatever."

A Flash Gordon, Rocky Horror Picture Show double-bill would be good times.

Reading my list, I notice Spielberg is on there three times. Hanks is on there twice. Surprisingly the actor on there the most, even if it's not a starring role, is Rick Moranis. I now realize he's really an excellent comedic actor, up there with Bill Murray, with much greater range than Bill, who is honestly kinda one note.

So my parents were pretty good at filtering movies our family saw for content when I was young kid. Except this one time we went to blockbuster and got Raising Arizona thinking it was like 3 men and a baby. My parents were pissed but weren't going to spend 4$ on a rental and not watch it.

Raising Arizona is pretty soft. I can’t imagine anyone getting too upset over that.

Rick Moranis is a fucking delight, and imagine what we could have had from him over the last twenty years if tragedy hadn't intervened.

    Earliest theater memory: Avengers

I remember hating The Avengers when it came out, but I was (am) a pretty big fan of the series. Especially the Diana Rigg years. I wonder if it'd be more likeable now that I'm considerably more laid back about people "ruining" things. I think the film's biggest problem was that the writers were going for the classic characters, but Uma Thurman and Ralph Fiennes just lack the... charm?

Since lot of independent/art house theaters have closed operations for the time being, many have been partnering with film makers and a variety of one-off streaming services, with a part of the ticket prices going to the theater. I rented one (Phoenix, Oregon) last week with my local being the beneficiary. Seems like a good way to support both the theaters and the films who were slated to run this and the next many months.

All of them are backed by various steaming providers, but as long as you can cast to your TV it works pretty good. The theater web sites should have the info of where to go. I don't think there is a central listing. Just make sure you are stocked up on Braggs, brewers yeast and local craft soda. (Actually, our local brewery has started selling Crowlers- half growlers in cans: I'd never heard of them before, and that has been amazing. But, that is a post for a different thread.)
