After the war was over there were a lot fewer missions that were about killing Imperials and more missions about escorting dignitaries and other non-combat applications. Cara Dune wasn't about that. She was in the Rebellion for vengeance and violence, not peacekeeping duties. So when it got boring she bounced and tried to make it as a merc.

So you see, it's about to happen, but it hasn't happened yet, so that's okay right? So they can pre-feel persecuted for the things that haven't happened yet but totally are about to and you can't get mad at them because she wasn't comparing it to the actual holocaust.

It's something where I can at least understand when someone says something in an off the cuff interview, or like when they've been in 20 press junkets and they say something they regret, either because they truly didn't mean it like that or because they just know it's bad for their brand even if they mean it.

There was just so much tension in the first 1/3rd of the book. It made me want to know what was going to happen and it just came at you so fast. Then the first chapter after that you're just reading about a mountain on coruscant. Like wtf?! I don't need coruscant described to me. I've seen the movies, I've played the games, it's a planet encompassing city. It was a planet encompassing city in the old republic as well.
Then the bad guys are cliche as fuck. Enigmatic apathetic leader who knows things, quiet edgy girl who is secretly the most dangerous, no brains mcmurderhobo. And they're all just necromongers.
I haven't finished it yet, but I started pushing through another malazan book and started the first dresden files book because it sounded more interesting.
