Unless new Bleach anime will get it's ending completely rewritten, I don't know what will even be the point of this adaptation, as it is simply a horrendous conclusion to the story.
Just, nothing works, at all.
It really needed to end with Aizen getting beaten, imo, and go into epilogue after that. It definitely suffered from a push to keep having more stuff going on.
Aizen beaten, Ichigo depowered, world is saved and returns to normal, cut and wrap right there.
also we get to see kenpachi release his zampaktou
then it gets to end
It's really not that cool, sadly.

the build up/fight with the first kenpachi was very good tho
The main problem is that New Big Bad had something like 30 new antagonists in his army, and the only ones that were cool were the Scarecrow wannabe one, and Askin. everyone else was boring, powers were bullshit, and fights had no meaning.
Also, fights went completely bonkers, in a "oh, you have God's powers? Good thinkg I bring out my God Slaying Special Sword today!" kind of way to explain how those people could even be defeated.
I respect series that actually finish in a shortish amount of time.
Yu Yu is only 19 volumes! (Which is still a bit but also not that much!)
Monster is 18 volumes.
Death Note is 12!
Cross Game is 8!
I am packing to move currently, which is why I am aware of these numbers.
Surpisingly I was able to sell 23 volumes of Initial D pretty quick, I thought that would be the hard one to get rid of but I had about fifteen people respond to the ad.
People mocked the Ninja War in Naruto but at least that brought back every character we ever knew or had heard of vaguely. Instead of inventing a brand new "strongest ever" faction out of thin air like Bleach did. Or to correct that phrasing, the faction itself was well established, but every character in it was brand new and complete bullshit.

the ninja war had the exact same problem, in that it created a villain that was literally stronger than everybody combined and effectively took a deus ex machina to defeat
and then it introduced moon lady who was super secret even stronger than said previous god-like being
basically the only good things ninja war produced were night guy and obito/keikashi fight and sasuke finally deciding to not be a worthless fuckboy after 4700 episodes

The biggest problem with Char's Counterattack is that it throws away all his character development from Zeta.

the way people talk about bleach and naruto is very funny to me because it seems like many people think either series was ever anything other than a thinly-veiled excuse for ninjas to do fights on each other

ninja fights are cool, and a lot of the character work is good

Kenpachi saying "hey did you know your swing is stronger when you swing with both hands" is the highlight of bleach
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

The new strongest guy was the inventor of the entire system who'd been hinted at throughout the series. Part 1 of Naruto ends with Naruto and Sasuke battling on top of a statue commemorating
a famous fight that guy had. Then the end of Part 2 is actually fighting that guy. That's a GREAT final villain choice. The moon monster villain is basically your JRPG trope where the heroes have to kill God or the source of all magic or entropy or whatever. Unnecessary, but a threat big enough to justify redeeming whatever villains you'd like to redeem before curtain call.
Bleach's final arc starts out with a good idea. "Remember that whole faction the good guys EXTERMINATED in the backstory? Some survived and they're justifiably pissed!" Yeah, that's a good idea. But then instead of the fight being about the morality of the factions and in some way resolving or changing the world system (something that Naruto is all about) it's instead about "these guys have literally unbeatable high numbers AND they get to steal all your numbers. So every character has to learn a new special move to beat the new numbers. ... yup, that's all this is going to be."
Pop Team Epic looks funny. Is there a way to stream it in the USA?
Netflix and crunchyroll have it. Edit: hell, they might all have it.
Between Netflix, funimation/Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Crunchyroll you can watch nearly any current / recent anime, though they’re all basically locked in various exclusivity wars. But since almost everyone has Netflix or at least access to it, and Prime has a billion other benefits to make it worthwhile, the big anime choice is usually if you want funimation or crunchyroll.

Kenpachi was basically set up to fail in the final arc because his entire thing is just brute force so him getting shikai or bankai is literally just super Saiyan level power boosts (Kaioken if you want given how bad he fucks himself up with it). And then you throw in what happens with Yachiru and it just sucks.

The Netflix version cuts out the second half of each episode
They actually fixed that and it has the full episodes now.
Although they do give you the skip credits button at the halfway point.

Speaking as someone who was a big Bleach fan at some point...
I really can't say I'm excited for this.
The Thousand Year arc was terrible, rushed and dragged at the same time and I hated the ending. I also didn't like how the medical captain got put on the bus so Kenpachi could get a powerup as she was one of my favorites.
I honestly believed the anime as is ended on a better note and would only be interested in this with some heavy...heavy reworks.
Hey everyone! After a fairly long dry spell, I ended up catching up on some anime recently. I started with the first season of Mob Psycho 100, which I enjoyed a lot, though I liked the comedic first half more than the second, when it went all shonen-y.
Though I do appreciate how they then subverted that when Reigen came back into the story.
How was season 2?
I then wrapped up the second half of Carole and Tuesday.
Okay, I know that the plot got pretty nonsense near the end and that the ending was basically anime "We Are the World," but I still teared up at it. I could use a break from being cynical anyway.
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

Fuck, now i want to see Soul Societry vs terrorist cell attacks afterlife for revenge over the whole "Genocide" thing.
Like there's probably a really good story (that you would have to navigate REAL CAREFULLY) in there.
Instead of "We genocided them, but also we apparently missed massive amounts of them and they're super strong and really nasty which is sending some very mixed messages here!
I did like the bearded my sword is a brush guy though, even if he got jobbed hard
The whole reason they killed the Quincy clan is because Quincy stuff obliterates souls instead of purifying them, which was causing massive imbalance in the cycle, and when the Shinigami tried to ask them to stop with the whole "potentially upending the world" stuff they refused and had to be stopped by force.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
None of that came through in the final arc.
Didn’t the soul society also deal with the situation with some serious scumbag tactics as well?
Stuff like “oh, no, we got to the site of that massive Hollow attack far to late to keep them from overwhelming and eating that family of Quincies that called for our help! If only we’d been faster.”
Or “What? No, I don’t know where Captain Mad Scientist was yesterday. I’m sure he wasn’t out kidnapping Quincies to experiment on; that would be wrong.”
Granted, it was Uryu telling the story, but to hear him tell it, the Quincies were the ones who offered to work with the soul reapers, who in turn refused and adopted a zero-tolerance attitude to the Quincies fighting any hollows at all, even in a cooperative effort with the reapers.
Solo Leveling has finished season 1, and is going on a short break, which is going to be EXCRUCIATING.
That being said, it's now basically a perfect time to binge read it for new folks, because there's basically an "arc" ending, which makes for a good break point to come back later and binge again.
