I'm missing Water and Wind phys (although Zack nearly counts there), and fire, dark, and holy on the magic side. I have... virtually nothing at all in fire and holy magic that isn't pushing two years old at this point. Vivi and Papalymo USBs, still rocking the joint.
Did end up doing it, sephiroth aosb noctis lmr. Meh, knew I shouldn’t have. Oh well, at least the Vincent chain is decent for physical.
For what it's worth, it's arguably better than Auron's because at least Vincent can imperil.
Ehhhh, I dunno. Vincent can Imperil, but it’s a magic-boosting chain. Auron gives the party a 50% ATK boost, which I don’t think should be discounted.
I can have Elarra just use warrior's hymn to replicate the atk boost, but she sure can't imperil. My hypothetical Shiva team would be like this after today's pulls:
Noctis Synchro
Elarra
Tyro
Auron CSB
The last spot is either an imperiler (Probably Balthier) or somebody with an AASB who will actually contribute to damage meaningfully. If I had Vincent I could have him imperil, let elarra buff ATK and definitely just use Sabin or Yda for example. Might be missing something here of course, I haven't delved too deeply into Shiva yet. I did see an awful lot of barfire in there though.
On another note, I finally hunkered down and used Lightning SASB to slay Leviathan!
New FF8 event in Japan is futzing with the banners.
It's reduced the number of relics down to 12 from 14. 7* relics stay at 1%. The rest are bumped up to like, 1.4% or whatever. I'm not doing the math. No big bump in the off-banner rate like the last time they went down to 12% though. At least supposedly.
Selphie is also getting a Dress Record that's specifically locked behind doing a gem pull on that banner. It's just cosmetic, so... whatever, I suppose.
Ugh, no, fuck off with that. All the dress records before have been rewards for dungeons or part of events. I do not like them setting a precedent of things you can only get with cash under a limited time offer.
What could they do with a FF7R Banner I wonder. Didn't they have a FF7 themed event just a few weeks ago? Oh man, it feels like ages (pre COVID) when they debuted Cloud's Dark SASB. Could they maybe do a Wind SASB2?

Having trouble with Transcendent Shadowsmith. Not seeing how people are killing his first form, I can barely get it sub 50% before he Entrusts.
If I use AASBs early to kill Ullr, I run out of gas and can't get through Shadowsmith's massive HP and defenses.
If I hold back for Shadowsmith, well, that's not really an option, I can't chew through Ullr's HP without an AASB. Blargh.
I did the fight before the script came out, so I wasn't really paying attention to how much health Shadowsmith had when he used Entrust. Probably like 30-40% remaining?
Used Ultras as soon as they were up, and had Prompto use Chain + Ultra when he got to 4 bars (with Ace Striker). I used one Ramuh on Ullr, and one on Jord (I was intending to use it on Shadowsmith, but I brainfarted and called that instead of banishing Jord, oops). I think I had Prompto awaken for Ullr, and saved Kain+Queen awakenings for Shadowsmith.

I'm always baffled by Japanese game (and anime/manga for that matter) companies monetization stuff. A small developer I follow declared they were closing recently, and so immediately, as usual, it all went to "IT'S ALL THOSE FILTHY PIRATES. ONLY 10K SALES, BUT 200K PATCH DOWNLOADS."
And I can't help but look at the things they did in the year before that. Like putting up a 5 year old game on digital download 'specially' priced at just shy of $100. I can think of some possible reasons that didn't work, guys. The whole entertainment market seems designed to milk a very small set of whales utterly dry.

There's been a massive resurgence of new costumes in the Japan time, but they're gated behind mastering the Torment 3.0 bosses (ie a 100% kill, but whatever time limit), so a lot aren't quite whale territory since they just require a mastery, but they're somewhat close to whale adjacent. I think, at least. I haven't actually seen much attention on how hard these things are to kill when there's sub 30 whale craziness instead.

Elena features much more heavily in Shiva clears than eg Edge in Ifrit clears or Reno in Odin clears because she can imperil bot.
Unless you're relying on like Vincent for DPS and he's already bogarting the machinist stuff.

Ah no. My fire is Locke and terra and Edgar. Maybe mustachioed. Not very inspiring. Looking at shiva also gives me a stroke so I guess it’s not important to get good fire stuff.
I did finally beat ice weak Odin on the count of one. I could not get imperil ice to stick to him at all and had to do the last phase at +3 ice resist.
Ifrit can apparently do instant cast moves? He was able to painflare>flameburst before instant cast medica cast in between.
The Hellfire attack that's triggered at the halfway point of each phase is instant. I guess if you get super unlucky, you could push him into that the tick before he does some other attack, and then the other attack would happen before you could get an instant Medica in

Ticket today got me CoD CSB. Nice thing about having two chainholders here is that I can start off with her BSB2 and Golbez CSB, then refresh with her CSB while Golbez gets to use his USB.
