I looked it up because I was curious, Dorne is ruled by a Princess so I wanted to see what my heir Kime's title was, maybe a Grand Duchess? Nope, still prince/ess. Dorne uses absolute cognatic primogeniture, so the eldest child regardless of gender inherits, so I'll leave it to Kime to decide if they are a prince or princess.

Apparently if you need to distinguish between the two of us I can be styled "the ruling Princess of Dorne." Feudalism!

I believe the term generally used is "princess/queen/empress reagent" to indicate they rule under their own authority.

I don't think the Lords need a dedicated Discord (technically I don't the maesters do either for purposes of the way the game runs online, but anyways) The thread should be fine for general communications.

    Turn 0

From every corner they came. Every freebooter, every wildman with a title and a claim, and lords with hundreds and thousands behind them. The Banners of Westeros rallied. From sprawling Highgarden to the sinister Dragonstone, the armies of Westeros formed to march forth and die to secure the ambition of their kings...

    ***

    Map link

Lords and their Knights will need to decide which of their Strongholds their initial 2 armies march forth from. They have 24 hours from this point to submit their orders. No other orders will be necessary for this turn.

Man, we need a Stark Lord so I can get on politely telling them that I'm breaking our alliance.

You may spare me the politeness, I am no child that needs coddling when you have unpleasant news. Is it true then that the Martels have no further use for Norther lumber or iron?

    Hah. Don't worry Stark heir!
It would be a wild thing for a war between Dorne and Winterfell.
Would need to schedule the first battle 3 years ahead I'd think, for the travel alone.

Beyond that, we all understand a bit of passion and hot headedness. Good traits for a Bold conqueror to be in this day and age.

What need is there of a dispute between the Starks and the Martells? These two houses, built on the bones of this great land from time ancient. Two houses, like many more, who are just in their geographical inheritance to the bounties of the continental wake. Its forests, its hills, its lakes, mountains, and more.

But there's one nation who does not deserve to dine with us. While we fill our bellies and wet on lips on the fruit of this great land, HOUSE TARGARYEN, would seek to sour our shores with their craven aspirations.

@Boomthorkell, @JusticeForPluto, @Chaos_Dreamer, @Zombie Hero, YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE! YOU ARE INVADERS FROM THE SEA BEYOND AND YOUR HOUSE SICKENS ME!

YOU ARRIVE WITH ILL-PURSUITS, BACKED BY FOUL DRACONIC PROWESS, TO A HOME THAT IS NOT YOURS!

IN CLOSING, WITH MUCH RESPECT, GET FUCKED.

Very well then, with all respect to the King in the North we have studied the geography of Westeros and it turns out Winterfell is really, really far away from Sunspear. Since we can't in any real way effect the military situation that far north, not you this far south, we think it prudent that our two Houses seek friends who are somewhat closer.

    No hard feelings.

We of House Arryn seek to ensure peace in our lands, the safety of our people, and the continuation of the centuries of honour, duty, and sacrifice that have allowed us to stand fast and weather any storms and ill winds blowing our way from any side.

Rash action against us will not go well for those that take it, and while our mountains may be slow to move, I assure you that our spears and swords are much swifter, with a keener bite.

These are trying times and I can understand wanting to secure the borders of your lands. When all of your Spears have snapped and your Swords gone to rust you may once again see wisdom to trade from our remote lands.

Comes now Munkus Lannister, first of his name, King of the Rock, Wielder of the Sword Brightroar and defender of the Faith.

To all we offer incense and iron.

To our allies: the sweet smell of incense heralds bountiful alliances, the iron is fashioned into the tools of the smallfolk to enrich the land of Westeros, as the Westerlands provide fast friends and able allies.

To our enemies: the gift of iron through their bellies will be a bitter meal, the incense burned upon their funereal pyre will choke the throats of their widows as the smells of summer will provide no more solace, as the Wroth of the Westerlands is fierce when awoken.

Hail and well met again, Lord Munkus.

We of the Eyrie have no intention of inciting the Westerlands to battle, and would rather ensure a continuation of the prosperous relations that have been ours for so long.

Your steel and ours together are strong enough to ensure that any who try to take a bite will find their teeth breaking - no matter how large and strong those teeth may imagine themselves to be.

"By my lights, it was you who started this," Lord Tywin replied. "Your brother Jaime would never have meekly submitted to capture at the hands of a woman"
"That's one way we differ, Jaime and I. He's taller as well, you may have noticed."
His father ignored the sally. "The honor of our House was at stake. I had no choice but to ride. No man sheds Lannister blood with impunity."
"Hear Me Roar," Tyrion said, grinning. The Lannister words.

As the great lords and knights of the seven kingdoms assemble their armies for war, the commander of the knight's watch reminds them that we protect them all from an enemy more dire than dragons from beyond the sea, and more deadly than all the armies in Westeros. I implore all the kings of these lands to lend us all the support they can spare, and they will find a solid ally to protect them from the dangers of the frozen north, and perhaps some help with dangers closer to home as well. Indeed, as a neutral third party to these wars, the knight's watch can be a useful broker between the great houses, for the good of all Westeros.

Surely you jest. If such a thing were possible, would it not have been done already? Do not trust in rumours and the fanciful tales of simple folk. We lords must heed sound and proper advice.

Just a reminder that everyone has ~6 and a half hours to submit their starting army positions.

I only have two houses who have given me official starting positions (they can still be changed if needed)

You do not need to spread tales of grumples and snarks to seek our aide, though if such fanciful tales shall help your efforts to recruit in the south I shall not hold them against you. Long have the Starks been aware of the dangers to the land beyond the walls and have in the past helped drive back against hordes of wildlings alongside the watch. When such a day comes again know we shall once again lend our arms in service of our shared realm.

The OP says that Heirs may perform up to 2 of 4 actions, but then lists 6 possible actions. Can you clarify that wording please?

What are those gate-looking icons on the map? Fortifications?

What all can resources be used for?

The gate icons are Strongholds. They provide defensive bonuses, and are where new armies can be deployed to.

    Resources are used for:
    Army upkeep
    Army creation
    Can be traded for gold
(still digging to look if there's any other key thing, that I'll update this post is so)

Providing rolls is intended as addendum to any actions that require it. Taking the Black is technically a 5th action, but doing so encompasses all of one's turn. The text will be modified to better reflect this
