I want lava and snow areas.

Let's get 3D Platformer world up in this sucker!

I think those would only really interest me if they presented unique challenges and resources, and I'm not sure how you do that that didn't just end up as "conveyor belts but with covers" or similar.

Maybe if they pushed you too use vehicles, or opened up new power sources (lava geothermal, where you have to manage overheating?)

Snutt just said on the live stream that the new engine broke hypertube cannons. But also that they like hypertube cannons, so they'll probably end up making them official

One thing I discovered is that you can now ride drones, although it's janky.

Another thing I discovered is that if you're hitching a ride on a drone, and you have a lag spike with your server while in midair, when things finally catch up, the only thing preserved is your horizontal velocity, which is roughly tripled and you are flung off the edge of the map to your death.

Damn it, I had like 60 power crystals on me because I was going to overclock a whole production line.

They definitely seem to enjoy the ridiculous stuff the player base gets up to. I look forward to seeing what the canon building looks like.

I've only recently even considered hyper tube cannons because of blueprints, so an actual dedicated launch building? Yes plz, I'd love that.

Then of course I'll have to redesign an my outposts to integrate stuch

I'm guessing they'll just add mark 2 and possibly mark 3 hypertubes so we can get faster tubes (for more energy) without going to the full on game-breaking speeds.

It begs the question, would Satisfactory have as much positive goodwill that it does for an early access Game if they didn't have Jace and Snutt? Did they plan to be on screen talent like they’ve become, or was it a lucky accident.

I think if you leave them out of the picture, the game itself is pretty well-featured for EA. I enjoyed it plenty before I ever discovered the content they were releasing.

I'd say the regular communication is what generates goodwill, but the specific people are less vital to that equation. I don't have any particular fondness for either; I don't really care for their bits or script choices; and I have a generally unpleasant reaction to the name "snutt."

I honestly find them both really irritating when they're meming/larking around. So if anything, they decrease my good will for the game. But that's me and I'm hardly a universal here. (note, tehy're fine when they're just presenting ifno, it's when it degernates into jokes or other silly stuff that irks me - If i'm watching a video, i want information you know?)

Beyond that though, like the good stuff in this game is... the game itself - it's the best iteration i've see nof a lot of the minecraft/factory ideal stuff, the devs in general communicate well, and it's had a solid schedule. Hard to complain!

Judging by how many high vote youtube comments they get talking about how much people love Jace/Snutt, I'd say they've gotten a non zero amount of retention from it.

A recap of the stream Coffee Stain put out a few days ago. Lumen is going to make the factories look GOOD. Oh man. Hopefully lighting performance is improved enough to handle all the lighting that'll be needed.

    New features coming to Blueprints

-Ability to quickswitch between blueprint sin the same category
-Lock mode: Hitting H will lock a blueprint in place, allowing you to walk around it to see if it lines up, also..
-Nudge mode, also coming to regular buildables; if your locked hologram doesn't line up you can use the arrow keys to "nudge" it around.
-Dismantle mode: New mode for dismantle will allow you to dismantle whole blueprints instead of doing it piece by piece. The game will remember which parts are attached to what blueprint, so even if you delete parts of it manually, you can still delete all of the rest with a click of a button, and building stuff onto the machine won't interfer (that stuff won't get deleted, of course, you'll have to do that manually)

No update video today due to engine troubles, so here's an video about that.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-MGfaCJfrw

They've basically abandoned any internal dates for Update 8 (Was May 9th apparently) due to the engine changeover taking more time that expected to smooth out the bugs.

100%. At this point I'm pretty much waiting for 1.0 and I really don't care how long it takes them to get there. Been too busy for all that much gaming lately.

I was talking to a guy the other day, boastin' about how I spent hours getting my factories to look so neat and clean.

You know, all right angles and straight lines. Hidden belts and well-organized rows.

Then he's like, "You know the spaghetti-soup factory I threw up in fifteen minutes is just as efficient as yours, right? Sure, it's got sixteen belts clipping through 10 miles of terrain, but I'm actually producing more super-computers per minute than you."

And so that's how it is.

Here's the link to the planned map changes - biggest takeaway is if you built a factory in the desert canyon area, you're gonna have a bad time. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/10hrRERI66Yi494Qlm48rIiICeh-MWtqh

Also apparently people need to be told not to build inside caves? Don't build in caves.

Part of my oil production was in the desert canyon area. I visited after the previous map changes and most of my refineries / oil extractors are now buried.

Everything still works and it's producing oil and refining it into fuel so I'm just ignoring it.

Apparently all the caves that don't "go anywhere" are getting a major overhaul and they're not trying to be mindful of buildings that might be inside. Caves that are also ways to traverse an area are OK for now...

Not only that, but clean factories are way easier to debug and adjust as needed. Messy factories work for about .5 seconds until you realize something's horribly wrong and have to figure out what the hell is going wrong and why.

Also if you're like me and build aorund trains, you cant clip trains without HORRIBLE DISASTER, so you know.

If one of my factories is below efficiency I simply let it run as is and start building another factory. In terms of end product it's far more efficient to build a new ideal setup alongside the old setup rather than retrofitting.
