I get sinus headaches pretty often - they start off with tension in my shoulders and upper body, and then proceed up along my neck, into my sinuses and my eyes. They're usually tied to the weather, and become especially bad on overcast days. As annoying as they are, I've learned to cope with them, and can ignore the pain, at least during the day.
At night, however, things change - I drift off to sleep, still with a headache but sleep usually wins out. As I lose conciousness and start to dream, my dreams inevitably turn to me gouging out my own eye. In the dream I can still feel the pain in my eye, I move my hand up to rub it, and then somehow press on it so hard that the eye pops right out of the socket.
The funny thing is, is that the fear and shock of that cause me to sit up in bed right away, and I find that my hand actually is pressed up against my eye, as if I actually were trying to gouge it out in my sleep. Eventually I manage to calm myself down, lie still, and go back to sleep, and it will happen again, and again, so that after lying in bed for some 8 or 9 hours, I've managed to get a whole hour of actual sleep.
I'm sure this has some deep, inner oedipus-related meaning, but really I just want it to stop. I like my eyes.
Does anyone know a good way to stop yourself from dreaming? Or if it actually is possible to poke an eye out in your sleep without knowing it?
And more importantly... Social Entropy you're all a bunch of fucked up dudes. Tell me what the fuck is wrong with you. Seriously, SE++, what the fuck?
