Tactical squad combat in which you control the members of LFO. The soundtrack is just Summer Girls on endless loop.

Weren't they trying to make it a drama instead of a comedy? Or am I thinking of something else?

so in my hunt for a distraction an a sense of control over my life I did buy Anno 1800 on the epic store

there's something very relaxing about those games, especially since we've moved on to quint victorian take on empire building through mutually beneficial capitalism

it's revisionist escapism, sure, but god damnit I have had my fill of dystopias, including the one we're currently living in

also the actual gameplay is good I guess

Anno 1800 is a lovely plate-spinner. They incorporated a lot of design lessons from the past ten years of the Anno series and made 1800 very nicely streamlined, while still avoiding too much hand-holding with the interface.

Signs of the Sojourner has some interesting things but the playable character has cat ears and nobody else in the game has car ears and I really can't take that seriously

I've got the DLC and I enjoy the added features. The three in Season 1 add: a new set of expeditions with botany items, and a new modular culture site to exhibit them in; a new zone with a large land mass you're given, along with a trawler with a diving bell you putter around the map looking for treasure; and another new zone in the frozen arctic. It's a lot of content. Season 2 has seen one of its three releases so far, but I haven't been playing Anno much lately so I can't comment on the new additions there.

Well that was an amusing Noita run. Turns out the current daily build lets you get electrification of everything around you, as well as an unlimited Sea of Water spell, within the first two perks, and then you can just kinda drift slowly down drowning or electrocuting every single enemy you run into.

Naturally, I never managed to re-roll enough to get any breathing or swimming perks, that would've been too convenient.

I have completed the core objective in Witcher 3 and can now move on to Blood and Wine

Hearts of Stone continued to be pretty good, CDProjekt have a set of writers who are very good at spooky ghost stories, they should do more of that.

Bloody Hell Toussaint looks amazing, only had time to dip in the first couple of quest stages but hells yes this looks like it's going to be great

Old Man’s Journey will be leaving Game Pass at the end of the month, so I played it.

It’s an easy puzzley game with a sweet story. Only took 1-2 hours to complete. If you’ve got Game Pass I’d say give it a try before it’s gone.

Yeah, I was holding onto Blood and Wine until I finished watching the Netflix show, which I did about 2 weeks ago, so I'm probably going back to visit Toussaint sometime soon.

Monster Train is a lot of fun. I got bored of Slay the Spire a while ago and haven't gone back. This game fills that void and builds on it really nicely

The biggest issue I foresee with Monster Train is that the synergies are so absurdly powerful and the growth is so exponential that there just isn't any middle ground; your run is either doomed trash or totally broken. The nature of hyper-synergy also seems to make lots of cards totally worthless or archetype locked far more than in StS.

I've been playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

It's been an incredible amount of fun. I'm really enjoying running around and stabbing people in their butts.

It also took me slightly more than 6 hours to leave Kefalonia.

I think this game is going to be long.

I am now 16 hours in and this world is feeling pretty damn big.

I played the game in spurts. Twenty hours of quests, then thirty hours a few months later. I’m currently in Hades, so it is nearing the end.

The game really supports this playstyle. There’s something about the way the game is structured that makes it feel like it takes place over many years, and that really makes going back to it work.

it is a 100+ hour base game if you try and do everything

    the dlcs adds more

I like the game a lot, but it's just way too much filler

You know, this Spring Cleaning Event has me thinking. I could try to play my installed backlog, starting at the very bottom of "recently played".

Guess what would be the first game then? Braid. I never played past world 2.

I'm sort of considering dipping my toe into the world of online MP, which I'd want a mic for. Anyone got any recommendations? I already have headphones I like so can you get a mic separately, or is it better to have a combined thing?
