I've been playing Crying Suns, a sci-fi ship combat roguelite which is on sale right now. It is extremely My Jam. Like FTL but less punishing and with really good/cool writing. There's basically a checkpoint system where after every boss fight, your future runs can start from that point
Hidden Folks is changing their DLC model. From now on content will be rolled into the main game for free and the price will be increased when new content is added. Similar to what Shovel Knight has been doing.
HiTBiT lifts a giant rock over his head to crush his opponent.
Florin responds by
Holding up a simple piece of paper.
Rattled, HitBiT fumes, only to realise the giant boulder is in fact paper clip art, it crumples over his head and leaves him covered in paper.
Round one goes to Florin! I doubt I'm going to manage to keep this up with Scissors. I think it's year of the paper folks. Too many Simpsons fans.
Here's the next matchup
@madican vs @Jazz
Just send me your choices via PM any time now. The results will go up tomorrow if I hear back.
When I see a game called RAD mentioned I always think of that PS2 game Robot Alchemic Drive, whose acronym was plastered across the cover art. That game was nuts.

That the one where you controled a giant robot as a swuishy human on the ground with a controller, right?

Yeah. With the sticks and shoulder buttons controlling the arms and legs, if I remember right.
I cannot recall a game that adequetly let me recruite a crew of bastards and lead them to glorious adventure.
Still, on the scale from Malcolm Reynolds to Jean Luc Picard
Ftl
Sunless sea
That ftl like game set in foundation like universe
Orion Trail has a touch of this, but you are more Kirk than Picard.
There's one random event where the ship's computer achieves sentience, tells you that it has learned all that is learnable aboard your ship, and asks you to let it go explore the universe on its own. Your options are (1) give it a shuttle, (2) point your weapon at the core, or (3) say "That's nice" and wipe the memory drives.
I took option (1), rolled well on my Diplomacy, and got: "You have a quiet conversation while staring into a distant nebula, then give it the shuttle it requested." It was a very Trek (Next Gen) moment. I could see my captain alone in the observation lounge, looking out the windows with hands folded behind his back, musing on the infinite cosmos with all its wonders and the place of sentience, both "natural" and artificial/emergent, within it.
(And then of course, at the next star, half your landing party gets killed by hostile natives or a meteor storm or something.)
Hi Steam users! I´ve been reading the PA forums from the shadows for quite a long time but never was very active. Finally after years of lurking and a lot of coaxing from a regular user (that evil madman you know as HiT BiT) I´ve gathered enough courage to introduce myself.
So, I´m Shatania a crazy cat lady-gamer. I enjoy playing platformers, roguelites ( especially The Binding of Isaac, my neverending drug) and The Borderlands series, but above all I love my two rescued cats. (Even when they attempt to not let me play and all I can see in front of me is their lovely fluffy rears).
Even though I rarely play online if anyone wants to send me a friend request it will be very welcomed.
15 bucks seems like a great tier for that Humble Bundle. The BTA has some of the best stuff (katamari!) but for 15 you get Tekken 7 and Tales of Berseria.

Anyone with the original Mafia II, you should have gotten the just released Definite Edition for free. Might have to restart Steam to get it to show up in your library.

Crying Suns?
If not Crying Suns, than what? It sounds like I might enjoy it.
Mass Effect 2.
It's hard to think of a AAA title scratching that itch, but yeah, the Mass Effect series totally did.

The universe has done me a disservice for however long that game's existed and I didn't know about it, and at some point it will need to pay up.
I mean, sure. But for "crew of bastards on glorious adventure" it's right up there.
Death Road to Canada
....... what? Why are you looking at me like that?
Also thanks to @Spoit for The Wizards!

Steam "This game is on your wishlist"
Me "o.O"
Added 1/27/20. Let's see what post inspired that.
Yeah I'll have to keep a closer eye on it during the summer sale.

Thanks @Iolo for Destroy All Humans!
In my defense, it was literally the only purchaseable item on your wishlist. You left me no choice.
Huge congratulations, Karoz!!!

To be fair, Stabby mentioned that right there!

Kinda disappointing; the theme seemed interesting, but I have an extremely low tolerance for joke tits these days.

I basically assume that any game Stabbity gets on steam is a porn game until proven otherwise.
