Small but significant change for those of us that use my sigs and play a lot of VR. The signatures will no longer show SteamVR as your most played game.
MGS V is one of the starkest examples I've ever seen of a game with a great gameplay loop, and absolutely garbage narrative. It's one of the few times where I actually played until I was just done. Like, there was game left, but ... eh.
Kojima needs an editor and a supervisor.
I submit that to a significant portion of his fanbase, seeing what crazy shit boils out of his head and onto the screen, completely unedited, is the point. "Making sense" is way down the list and possibly not on it at all.
Thanks so much to @Viking for Aegis of Earth, to @Jazz for Spring Falls and to @Massena for Heart of Iron IV! My cup runneth over this sale. I appreciate it very much!
@iolo is not only a bastion of class (you all already know that), but modest with it. So I checked first that he was okay with me posting this, given the message. I'd just fired up Steam to show my dad (visiting and helping massively in this very hard time) some F1 2019, and this happened.
Horizon Zero Dawn!
Thank you so much, Iolo. Class of this magnitude deserves recognition, as do your kind words. Much love, mate.

Okay, so I have to share this with the thread. When I was looking for that gif, I found I had done a custom one for a specific thread participant, and it's probably not who you think.
I have to say, it gave me a bit of a chuckle.

I honestly don't remember which event led to it being created, but I'm sure I deserved it.
And now that the sale is over, time to give appreciation to the people that gifted me. I'm also including some thanks for gifts pre-sale because I've been lax about showing appreciation to gifts in here.
Oh, and I also bought myself HZD and Assassin's Creed Black Flag and Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
The two Ass Creeds' were way too tempting for $26 total.
Edit: Nevermind. I found the cause. Yeah, it was warranted. Also the event I thought it was.
You know. I think this is the first big steam sale where 0 new people joined the steam group. The group even lost 2 people during the sale. That is a little sad. More of you should join the group and join the chatroom.

The leap from lurk to active during a sale with you monsters piling gift cannons and looking for targets can stir up all sorts of imposter syndrome and anxious thoughts about what the community thinks about their contribution compared to what they were gifted... Took me a couple sales to jump in lo those 8 years past.
Just wanted to thank everyone who sent gifts my way for the sale. It cheered me up when I needed a bit of cheering up. Now if I can just get some proper hardware to play the heavy duty games on.

Yeah Thanks to Isy (no really, I cannot thank you enough) my PC upgrade has been brought forward to this year - just gotta decide what I actually want
It has been over 3 years since I have last logged on here, but somehow I was gifted by @Trask ?? His classiness knows no bounds. Nor does it know time. It certainly knows no time bounds.
Today is a landmark day, because @Iolo apparently gave me my 1500th Awesome. There must be some sort of error though, the awesome is not in me, it's around me. The awesome is you.
Nice to see you all too. It warms my heart that with all that's going on in the world, I can come here and see pages upon pages of people being nice to each other.
Now that the sale is over and we are all somewhat safer from random giftings, I have something to share. It's
Of course. I have this in my Steam inventory which means I can only send it to Steam friends, so you'll have to accept a friend invite if you do win. Open to the PA Adventure Group.

I wish I was fuckoff Bezos rich. I would give Kojima's new studio 250 million dollars, a promise of no outside meddling/involvement, and a five year deadline just to see what the hell he would make.
I would also do the exact same thing with John Romero, with the only stipulation being that it be a Daikatana sequel.

Likely just some high rez monster energy cans, poo grenades, and a pompous attitude about people not "getting it."

I love the kindness, help and suggestions on particular games, camaraderie, gifting, treating gifting as a battle to be won, and ridiculous arguments in this thread. More than anything, what I love is that no matter what's going on in my life or in the world, when I open the Steam thread (leftmost tab of many) the rest of the world doesn't exist. It's just about the games and the kindness.
Thank you all for being an oasis niceness in a world that isn't always so kind.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

I can't help but wonder if Pixie manages to play any of the accumulated trove of software, or just stares at the pile in wonder before napping on top of it, Breaking Bad style.

Thanks thread and thanks Iolo for being a great guy.
