I'm sure they have the data on hand to restore everyone's stars to the correct level, but the simplest fix would probably be to roll out those 10 free levels as 11 instead and call it a day.

The only Lifeline thing on the pass is a holospray so do the levels really matter.
Anyway I can totally see progress being reset unintentionally as a result of messing with the system.
Estates is the new Skull Town. Over the past couple days I'd say a solid 1/3+ of drops by my team are directed towards this meat grinder.
It isn't even fun like Skull Town!

intense drop at Bonsai Plaza where we beat a team on drop, then looted a bit and ziplined up to the skywalk area where 2-3 teams were brawling only to get pincered after 1 team finished their fight and another came in from the side ramp. the Spitfire carried the day for me and we looted up, then headed off to the side village when we saw a team running in and looting the village to the west of Solar Array - we jump them and loot. after that there's only 3 teams left, so we back up to Bonsai Plaza and I almost facecheck the enemy team going up the zipline to the top area but fortunately jump off before any of them can react. we pull back to the garden area and find the 3rd team, then kind of skirmish until we see the team that was up top pushing around. then we zipline up to the high wood wall at the north end of Bonsai Plaza and murder both teams as they push in on each other due to the ring forcing them in.
dropped Estates, beat a team there, run towards Turbine south entrance when we see one team up top shooting down at the other one and then both run into Turbine via the side entrance. We follow in and finish the brawl and gear up really well off them, then come back out towards Phase Runner intersection when the circle closes in on that area. We catch a team of two also trying to get in, then a while after a team comes up from the other ramp and we manage to get them after a well-placed thermite by my friend. There's only one squad left and we see them looking at us from one of the Grow Towers, and we exchange fire. My friend picks up a Kraber off a care package that landed nearby us and as the enemy team tries to push in scores an instadown on one of them, leading to us sliding in on them for the win.

I made it to silver rank! Now, I notice that I have to spend RP to play at this point, which given my track record means I'll probably be hemorrhaging points quite alarmingly, can you drop down ranks if you lose enough points, or does it lock you into your current rank? Not that I mind much either way, I'm quite happy to bob between bronze and silver or whatever, but it'd be nice to know beforehand and avoid the inevitable disappointment.
Did they say when they were gonna give the 10 extra levels? Because I haven't gotten mine yet. Do you have to buy the season pass to get them or something?

Holy moly I almost had my first bad night of Apex.
Just game after game of either instantly going down or being brutalized in the first fight. The one game where I did well (5 kills by the time we got out of our drop zone) had one of the very few toxic players I've come across yelling the whole time. There was even a match where my two teammates randomly ran off in opposite directions after we started moving out and I thought, well, I'll stay in between them and see which one spots enemies first... and then a Lifeline skydived down on top of me out of nowhere and Mastiff'd me to death.
BUT the final game of the night was good and we won so all is well.

I had been playing daily...until I tried to upgrade my CPU and now nothing boots. Contacted ASRock and they're going to RMA for me, but now I'm out of commission until it's back together. :bigfrown:
I haven't been playing as much either, mostly because I've been getting wrecked every game recently. My K:D average this season is lower than my overall average (so, including all the time I was complete trash at the game), which is not raising my confidence in my own abilities. Usually this doesn't start happening until like 1/2-2/3 through the season.
I play pretty regularly, but am still wood league in terms of skill. Happy to get shot anytime though.

I'm still playing a bit every day, though I suspect my timezone means I don't often see any of you around! (Though also I don't know that I've done much friending on here either). Feels like I get the 'Evolve X shields' daily challenge every other day, but at least they've lowered the requirements enough so that I can normally grind it out.
... it just occurred to me that I can log into the game on PC and should get the 10 free levels.
I'm at battle pass level 38 on PS4, and cannot fathom putting enough time into the game to cap out on both, but hey, free loot is free loot.
It's tempting to dive into it a bit and see how the other half lives, as it were, but I also have enough of a show, reading, and game backlog that picking a fight with my own free time seems unwise.
Edit: and of course, the hope is that they eventually consolidate progression. Yeah yeah, I know it's not likely to be anytime soon, and may not happen at all, but they have mentioned it as a possibility. No point putting in time (let alone money) on something that may eventually sync up for free. Honestly, the thing I want most is the Steam gun charms on my PS4 account. Having access to my PS4 stuff on PC would just be icing on the cake.
Edit 2: oh god, I have nothing unlocked, default skins for miles, no sound tracks, so few Legends... wow, what a difference half a year makes.

Same here. Not that our schedules even line up much, but since the in game benefits/expectations aren't very high, it doesn't seem like a big deal.
If they did some full on Mobile Game bullshit where a Legend could only be unlocked by having your club get 1000 wins or something, it'd be another story. But some badges being just about the only thing (I can't think of) that's in place, aside from matchmaking opportunities (which isn't a small thing, granted), I'm okay with it.
... I'd probably just be solo-queueing anyways.

So... one of my quests this week is to hit 8 targets with Bang's smoke grenade. Not her ultimate... her smoke grenade.
She's in my top 5 most played characters and I'd guess I haven't hit that many people in the year and a half I've been playing. So uhh... guess I'm not getting that one. It's worth a full level, too. Really sucks.

I think after the canister breaks into three each one of those does a little explosion when they pop the smoke that deals damage, but I'm not 100% confident on that.

Yeah, my guess would be getting a hit marker with it which includes the split cans. If so, it's pretty easy to just shoot at the corner of cover if someone is shielding up.

It's pretty rude when the ranked queue puts you in a squad all on your lonesome! I know you can just sneak around to get into the top spots to avoid losing too many points, but that's not very exciting...

I'm closing in on gold rank though, that's neat.
I don't mind the occasional game where that happens. It's like a whole different sneaky apex experience! Plus if you get down to the final 3, trying to time the 3rd party to sneak a win is pretty sweaty!
If you just want to jump in and shoot bad dudes though, it's definitely annoying.
On a related note, the game is definitely the most unstable it's been in a very long time. We're fairly frequently not all connecting into the game, or just straight up CTDing. The latter I've not really seen since S1/2!

I had a win earlier that involved dropping a mobile respawn and respawning our third (whose token we'd been carrying for several rounds) when there were 5 teams left and I thought that was helpful, but this Wraith, right here?
This Wraith was a scholar and gentleperson. The other two of us got downed when three other teams all converged on us, the Wraith ran away, waited until they were fighting each other instead of all shooting at us, rezzed our Loba, murdered everyone, grabbed my token, grabbed the mobile respawn I was carrying, respawned me, and placed a portal by my death box so that I could grab my stuff and portal out of the ring.
I had a win yesterday where I left the ring to respawn a teammate (though not into the damaging area). Only afterwards did I actually look at my inventory and realize that I had a mobile respawn beacon the whole time.

I made it to gold rank! I recognise that's not actually all that high up the ranks, but it's better than I thought I'd be able to do. My qualifying game was pretty decent too:
I played my first round of Apex since about March and won
I swear that the matchmaker favors returning players to give them wins/good teammates, because the other couple of times I took breaks, I came back to victory streaks then, too

Felt pretty good about this one, sneaking closer to that 50 Loba wins badge...
Dropped at Bonsai Plaza with a few other teams but landed outwards so we managed to scoop the loot in the underside and then third party the fight happening in one of the two buildings. After looting up and doing some printing, we drove over to the small building area between Hammond Labs and Estates to look for a few sundries when a car goes by us and we crack shields as it zooms off towards top of Turbine, where we had previously heard shots. We immediately hear shots break out, a team goes down on the kill feed, and we get up there in time to catch a respawn from the team that won that fight, down the respawn, and then get the other two after a tense fight where the 2 survivors got the drop on one of us. We hear shots at Energy Depot so we run over there in time to third party a fight, then beat another team that tries to get in on the action. At this point we exit Energy Depot and there's only us and the other team, and we see them peeking at us in a building in Rift while we're at the top of the ramp connecting Rift and Energy Depot. We trade sniper shots and win hard, especially when I land 130 damage on a Crypto on the roof and my friend hits the 70 Sentinel shot for the down, and we push in hard off that. I zipline my friend on Lifeline and I in, and i bust inside the building as the enemy Horizon tries to toss an ult to stall us and barge on past it to catch the freshly revived Crypto trying to heal and drop him again, then climb up to the 2nd floor where my friends are exchanging fire to perfectly catch the Horizon off guard and drop her with my Alternator. My friends catch the Loba with Wingman shots and a Peacekeeper to finish it.
We then won a second game immediately after where we weren't champion due to a Pred badge squad taking the spot, and land at Bonsai Plaza again where staggeringly, nobody is around. We roll out of Bonsai Plaza with full purple armors and drive on over to Estates just in time to third party and basically get delivered the loot since the champion team and whoever they were fighting only had 1 person each up. We start looting and I scan the beacon when i start getting shot on high from the Agriculture entrance of Phase Runner, and i have to scramble off the roof. We have a standoff, and then the team up there tries to rotate down and we catch them out and kill them, then take out a team of 2 that just revived and is fleeing in from the Ring. After that we just kind of stare at the map since the Ring is closing in on us and everyone else still alive is fighting in Turbine, so we just sit at the ramp in between Turbine and Estates to try and gatekeep. After a bit we decide to check behind us due to the fact that a tiny sliver of Turbine is navigable - lo and behold, a full team is there and we take them on. After a lengthy fight, we drop them and the last team, a single Octane runs in and my friend blasts him.

You can drop from silver III to silver IV, but you can't drop from from silver to bronze.

Speaking of respawning, I swear there used to be voice lines for pinging dropships, but now it just does a regular enemy ping when pinging one.
