    I don't really like any character that can warp the entire game around them. If they actively make the game less fun by their presence, I don't like them. Abathur and KTZ are the major ones. Abathur enables way too much without any risk of punishment. They had to buff him until he contributed meaningfully without thinking about what removing a body from the field does. Murky is annoying, but he just needs a babysitter. KTZ kills me because my teammates are dumb. Which is absolutely normal, but he also combines my hatred of combos of skills being able to one-shot people. It makes me feel like a well-coordinated CC chain has been used on me except half was done by my own teammate. I don't even get to go, "well played," when it's because John McSpreads-Living-Bombs sucks in a new way.

    Holy shit, since I'm not playing HotS anymore, I had no idea just how strong Zag is now after the patch. That Baneling range is insanity and the cooldown short enough that you're basically playing as a more mobile Sgt Hammer.

    Basic Attack damage reduced from 85 to 83.

    Baneling Barrage [Q]
    Mana cost increased from 10 to 15.
    Cooldown increased from 3 to 4.
    Damage reduced from 86 to 80.

    Talents

    Level 1
    Volatile Acid [Q]
    Removed functionality: No longer increases Baneling Barrage’s damage.

    Level 7
    Baneling Massacre [Q]
    Canged functionality: Gain two additional charges of Baneling Barrage, but increase its cooldown by 2 seconds.

    Level 20
    Pack Instinct [W]
    Damage bonus reduced from 25% to 20%.
    Duration reduced from 3 to 2 seconds.

    Developer Comment:

    In contrast to our usual ethos, Zagara is seeing her talents pay the price for an increase in power to her base kit. While the immediate effect is Zagara has less impactful Baneling talents, we feel that Baneling Barrage is a more interesting ability than from where we started, and we have more room for future changes.

    These are the changes for Zagara that are coming. I'm not sure that she doesn't also need baneling range nerf too

    Zag changes are understandable, she's still fine.

    Nothing about the good Naz build changes, except in the matches you pick Superstition to counter Mage carries, you get a free Spider proc. Neat way to proc Vile Infection. Other than that, it's just bonuses to shitty meme builds to make people continue to play them rather than the build that actually wins matches.

    The Blood Ritual buff is nice, but I think they could have taken it to 10 stacks. Still doesn't help make Naz playable on wide, 2-lane maps.

    I read the HotS tweet about Zag being locked and boy were the comments toxic. I'm used to a kinder and gentler (ie understanding) tone from most people in regards to HotS, even outside this thread. I guess the Internet is going to Internet sometimes.

    The zag mana and baneling cd nerfs are too much imo. She's already mana starved 2 mins into the game if you're doing heavy sieging.

    Add to that that banelings now do both less base dmg and don't get the 50% dmg from lv1?

    She'll go back to rarely ever being seen.

    Additionally, outside of ARAM, are there really any situations you find in which you're spamming abilities on CD? Zag's abilities are really situational: Creep and Roach Drop provide vision; Hydra is to punish enemy orb pickups; etc.

    I would also argue that heroes should exist in a state in which they're rarely picked. Where they have situational value, and they're chosen with precision because they bring the right tools to the table. Any character that exists in a state in which it is always useful is almost certainly overpowered and in need of adjustment.

    You really shouldn't pick Naz on wide, two-lane maps, to be fair. But even if you do, it's still very much possible to complete Vile Infection by 20.

    We have a solo-lane samuro and a azmo, so since I'm rag I think "finally, a Sulfuras Smash game"

    According to our Tychus, my bad ult choice is why we lost the game. Nevermind that in a 13 minute game Samuro had 15K of soak

    or that he had 13k of Siege damage. as tychus. on battlefield

    I swear to god its always someone elses fault in QM

    More often than not people have absolutely no idea why they lose games in QM. Because all they do is play QM, and the sheer amount of noise in that game mode makes it impossible to determine what won or lost you the game beyond the blatantly obvious. And even then, people often give up far too early given the vaunted comeback mechanics in the game, and the fact that there are almost never any healers to push the core when a "real" game would've ended, so you often get several more chances to win the game when otherwise it would've been over already.

    To be honest, just forget that Sulfuras Smash is an option and commit yourself to Lava Wave. Ragnaros isn't what I'd consider a top-tier character by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think he can be situationally powerful in QM and up to about Platinum in Ranked, where he simply guarantees that your team (who are likely going to be completely uncoordinated, or making terrible gameplay decisions, or both) can't fall behind in Soak. Lava Wave ensures that you'll always be in the game in terms of XP, and later on, it can more-or-less completely negate the loss of a Keep in up to two lanes simultaneously.

    You play Ragnaros, in my opinion, to make sure your team gets to 20 on time. You're kind of playing this meta where you know your teammates aren't going to soak, so you just do it for them, remotely with Lava Wave. It's kind of a similar situation with me and Nazeebo -- I have always played him a lot in QM because it is very likely that my entire team is going to be full of mouth-breathing morons, but I can literally just ignore them, soak to 20 and win the game myself.

    Rags doesn't have that same power spike at 20, but he gets you there a lot faster.

    Quick check in. Spoiders are good, sorry. Easy quest, good upgrades, the slow is very helpful. Once upgraded they make ritual farming even easier.

    Anywho. Had a game go hella long. Ended with 434 stacks. Very gross. Very large zeeb.

    I've had matches like that before, lol. Usually on Volskasya; once, I had the team stall the first objective while I double-soaked Top/Mid. Ended up with Vile Infection stacked before the first Protector came out. It was wild. By the end of the match I was basically Cho'Gall.

    Heroic Molten Core is a shockingly good power spike at 20 below Masters ELO levels. And the ability to de-push lanes with wave means you aren't going to lose a game purely to macro.

    People tend to sleep on Rags but the boy is really good for the majority of the skillband in hots.
