Welp I was way off on this patch. Guess the D.va rework will be next month, and Cassia was barely touched. Mei's talent retuning wasn't much, but the Avalanche cooldown nerf is at least significant.
I still don't ever see myself picking Ice Wall since it's so much harder to get value from.
Those Qhira changes are SUPER interesting. As someone who likes Qhira quite a bit but always felt like Healmonger was 1000% required, this changes things up QUITE a bit.
I tried out Q build today, rocking the new The Thirst talent. That extra healing is NOT insignificant at all! It does inherit healing from the level 1 Q talent as well, so the extra burst damage that Maximum Effort does will also give you extra burst healing. Combined with Chainsaw at 13, you get a LOT of extra healing that is no longer tied to one single button. All that extra healing PLUS your W healing. It seems quite good! Honestly, Maximum Effort is also quite nice, really. You can lead with a Q to get the slow off into an easy fuckin' E stun. I do think The Thirst has comparable healing output to Healmonger, especially when you consider that it's tied to a separate source now. Nailing multiple people with Q can really lead to some juicy fuckin' heals, too.
I haven't tried out AA build with Siphoning Link yet, but I imagine that lifesteal must be pretty juicy as well.
W build seems silly as all get out. We had a Chromie in our game just DUNKING people super fucking hard and then snaring them with the center hits, it was amazing. Time Loop meant perfect lineups for my combos+Ult as well, but honestly Chromie would just destroy people on her own.
I'm glad they brought back the center-hit thing for W in a more meaningful way. Seems good? I'll have to try it out myself, given that I'm CHROMIE GOD also quite partial to Chromie.
Um, am I missing something, or does Encore seem really good now? Isn't that basically ~10 seconds off of Mosh Pit cooldown per hero hit by W (and as a bonus, the subwoofer)? Bringing the cooldown of Mosh from 2 minutes to a minute or less shouldn't be uncommon at all.
Also, me every time I see a Muradin buff in patch notes:
I am not happy to see a Slowing Sands buff. That thing is super annoying in ARAM due to the limited play space and choke points. I once had a game where two enemy Chromies both took it and the zoning was real.
Also, I feel the need to do a ranty follow up to my Muradin mention above. Blizzard said this:
Developer Comment: It was not our intention that Muradin have more Mana tension when his baseline quest for Storm Bolt was completed. Since Muradin already has a decent amount of Mana tension, we felt it was appropriate that this was lessened once he completes his quest.
Oh, that wasn't their intention, even though it's fucking absurdly obvious that any talent that reduces the cooldown of an ability without reducing the mana cost by definition will increase the mana tension of a character? How the fuck do they keep forgetting this lesson? Look, HotS team, I appreciate you, and I realize your team got gutted, but that was at the end of 2018. Muradin got the rework that gave him the baseline Stormbolt Quest in October 2017. Why did it take almost 3 years to make this connection? Holy shit.
There are still other high mana tension heroes with cooldown reduction talents that offer no mana reduction/sustainability perk. Hint: you just increased the cooldown reduction/mana tension of at least one of those talents in this very patch! Come on!

I wonder if the ETC buffs/changes will make an AA build any good? Also, I love the addition of CD reduction on his Power Slide talent. It's basically the D.Va treatment.

Yeah she should've picked it up and dropped it ASAP, but for some reason she tunnel visioned on hitting the turret and using her Q to heal instead. Which worked out, I guess.
The whole game was watching my team waste items. Before the first objective Tyrande dropped a turret in front of the enemy team's wall while the objective was up and we were standing on it. So the other team just went back to their wall and both teams just like...stood there and watched it die.
Before the clownfiesta bot objective the exact same thing happened except Greymane was the one who did it. So again, the other team just waited for the turret to die and then dove us.

To be fair the other team was bodying us all game. They were a 5 stack, won every objective, and my Malthael died 6 times up to that point. So I think they were just doing what everyone does and riding the high. Why not fight - it's not like we posed any meaningful threat up to that point.

When specced properly, E.T.C. has actually been a pretty good 1v1 hero for a while. Similar to Garrosh. At one point E.T.C. would absolutely destroy Illidan in the solo lane. A lot of heroes work this way - the 1v1 matchups usually have very surprising results. Most ranged beat most melee (unless the melee can land cooldowns). Dehaka beats Illidan if he lands tongue, but otherwise Illidan wins. Murky bodies Malthael. Illidan bodies Zagara. Samuro wins vs. nearly everyone. Before her last rework, Johanna actually won a lot of match-ups and had better waveclear than most standard bruisers.
People keep doing this thing where they assume that bruisers are the best solo laners because that's their "role". The reality is that bruisers are solo laners mostly because they are less susceptible to getting ganked. Which is not something you can control for in QM, and rarely happens in the vast majority of SL games. Most folks needs to stop listening to former pros and GMs because the majority of their advice is just plain not applicable to the rest of us, particularly when it comes to talent choices and drafting.
AA ETC build is fun - you can sit there and smash someone and uptrade - but like a lot of 1v1 matchups - it requires your opponent to be overconfident and know nothing about the matchup.
You'll win a fight if they fight you while your E is up - but if they just walk away for a couple seconds - there's not really much you can do since the build sacrifices waveclear.
The encore buff is just dumb and I'm curious how long it lasts before they admit to just having no idea what they are doing - I hate encore and if you have a lot of skill shot dependent teammates it's going to mess them up - but no way am I passing up that sweet sweet CDR

There are at least 3 or 4 of these types of things that I know of, or at least that seem popular as I'm sure there's probably more. There's the "WTF" moments like Dover posted the other day, there's the "Funny" moments like I just posted, and there's 1 or 2 others that are basically the same but they seem to mostly get their videos from other regions. Not sure which exactly, but you'll see the in game chat in those is in chinese or korean or something along those lines I'm not sure what it is.
Sometimes there's overlap in the clips as people will just send them to all of them to try to get in one.

I had to find out from one of the other players that he didn't snipe, sending me a message saying "I guess Beast Coast is no more."
So either this guy does not give a shit about his friend's feelings, or he just disregards them compared to his own.
Either way I'm in no mood to play this game right now so I'm taking a break.
