So i have a theory as to the identity of the dude that crafts your legendaries. I just unlocked him earlier and it clicked on my head. It's not a spoiler of you've made it they far, potentially spoiler of you have not. This is just my speculation on the other hand, is highly likely in wrong.
I bet it's the Maldraxis Primus. The one that mysteriously died. And he created the Lich King helmet and Frostmourne and then all the Scourge structures look just like Maldraxus structures?
Calling it now, for even they reveal it like 3 patches later.
I've not played since I raided heroic in Legion with a guild that ended up turning right-wing and so put me off playing again yet... new expansion is making me want to play...
But i've got so much else to play...
Please convince me not to play. Tell me it's bad.

I wouldn't say it's bad, but it does feel very underwhelming.

Decided to move WoW to another drive. And then I wanted to scan and repair just in case, but WoW Classic started updating. So I decided I may as well uninstall WoW Classic.
Apparently Blizzard doesn't want me to do that, because I've been trying now for at least an hour. It took about thirty minutes to run through the bar to the end, then sat there for twenty minutes. So I close Battle.net and reload it. Still can't scan and repair retail. Close it, delete the empty classic folder, restart.
It starts reinstalling Classic. I click ininstall before it can download anything but a manifest, classic folder is completely empty. About 15 minutes into 'removing files and reclaiming disk space' despite that.
edit: This time the Agent asked for admin permissions at the finish line and cleared it without a fuss, so I guess maybe it was a Windows 10 problem instead of a Blizzard problem, because I never got a popup.

I'm liking the expansion so far. The artwork is pretty good as always but I'm only just now starting Maldraxxus at lv55 and it seems like its all grey/brown. I feel like I'm leveling too fast for the main quest chains but I guess that's been happening to everyone.
Right now, I've just capped and finished the levelling campaign. There is a stark contrast between SL and BfA at this point. Right now, it feels like there is an OVERWHELMING amount of stuff to do. But.....there's no rush to do anything, and no requirement to do it all. There's a few chores you ought to get to before the week is out, but even then, you can catch up later if you want.
I'm still powering through it all like an idiot to keep up with guildies, but hey I took leave for a reason this week.

Yeah it’s hard not to want to keep up with everyone. Was off Tuesday to help kids with school which has been a thing for weeks now. Allowed me to poke at shadowlands all day and actually hit max last night. I started trying to take it slow but seeing all the guildies at 60 had me speeding up until it was a mad dash to hit 60 last night at like 1 am.
How was jumping into a heroic the second you hit 60 as a role you usually don’t play coco?
mildly impressed so far with shadowlands, but only a few hours in
Bastion is a cool place. Great graphics. I like that they've taken the okay storytelling and quest designs they established in BFA and uncorked it on something much more interesting. I could definitely see myself replaying this content with enthusiasm (so far).
The covenant system being MUCH more inviting to alts so far than the Heart of Azeroth system so far is a welcome change. And Torghast is a LOT of fun. I see myself wishing that I had a lot of the anima powers you get in Torghast out in the open world quite often.

I saw you can do the whole alts thing where you skip to endgame, but can’t go back. Yet if you choose to level along the main quest line you can jump to endgame at any time. I foresee people doing bastion then jumping to endgame to finish since bastion is a super fast 5 levels at least.
I'm 100% convinced there is like one guy on the quests team who thinks the game peaked in Vanilla or TBC. Just randomly out of nowhere there'll just be a slog of a quest, just wandering around killing bland underpopulated mobs with unreliable drops.
game: you need some sort of artifact that has ties to your world, something that really says "azeroth" to it, to form a link for a portal
me: ah of course my neckla-
game: how about 35% of the lich king's hat
That would have been good. Personally I thought it would be our Hearthstones that we've had for like 16 years

Yeah but that worked in Outland/Dreanor too, and the DH and Void Elf starting areas too.

This is true! But I was thinking a rock from Azeroth = A piece of Azeroth, and we've had it as long as we've existed = bonded to us.

Can't be Heart of Azeroth because with Chromie Time, a lot of characters in the Shadowlands campaign will never have set foot in BfA content and won't have a Heart of Azeroth.
Helm of Domination works because it's agnostic to whatever the specific player has actually been doing.
Anyone found any unique dialogues or reactions for any particular class or race? I noticed my draenei could say they were from Azeroth, Draenor, or Argus when asked by the Greeter at the very beginning of Bastion.
Faeland was a little meh for me, but Revendreth was very pretty. I did every quest in the first 2 zones then started only doing Campaign quests for the last 2, and I hit 60 on the final Scenario of Rev, so that felt really good. Unlocking everything after that does feel pretty overwhelming, but I also don't really feel like I'm in a rush, so I think I kinda like it.
Just threw in with the big blue girls, and it's go time!

I didn’t expect to really like all 4 zones as much as I did. Never has each new location in an expansion felt like a completely new, unique experience.
The zones kinda remind me of Legion. Where each zone feels like it has it's own unique theme. However, with Legion it always felt a bit off since they were all on one island yet so different from each other. It felt more like a theme park divided into zones than an actual island.
With this it makes sense because they are all different realms of the afterlife. Of course they are completely different.
Ugh, I know Actibliz has like 47 UX designers on their team. Why the heck is the eye of the jailer dead top center just at the right place to block mob health bars and tall character (of which their are 10 milllion this expac) quest bits? Marketing Hulk SMASH. Design Hulk ANGRY.

They've been letting that guy make like 3% of the quests for the last decade.
Officially the unluckiest CCG player ever.

sometimes i think blizzard devs don't actually design with default UIs in mind, because very few player-made UIs are going to have anything up there so it works fine.
A world quest in Bastion has you going around beating the shit out of 'Doubtful Acolytes' at the Path of Wisdom. Yellow mobs. Neutral. They're just aspirants sitting around. That you KILL. Not weaken - you kill them (or 'subdue' as the quest suggests).
Oh well, sorry guys, I know your thought police state is unfair but this quest gets me a Conduit, sucks to be you.

I didnt finish that one, because I only had one left to do and instead was able to bounce up flowers. Then I found a chest that I had to figure out how to unlock and now I have a bastiony back transmog.
I hit 60 without finishing Revendreth (barely started it actually). Guess I need to finish the story there to unlock everything like Torghast?
yep, you have to finish the whole campaign no matter what
I found the pacing of the campaign a bit awkward. I guess it's designed so if you do literally nothing but campaign quests you will still get to 60? I also capped at the beginning of Revendreth which sort of sucked the fun out of the zone for me, because I was wanting to rush through to get to the covenant stuff. In hindsight I wish I just skipped all side quests in earlier zones.

Some of them go green at 1% hp and go "oh yeah I'm motivated now" and run off.
I think (hope) at some point it's addressed, the whole Bastion thing.

there's so much to do but none of it is mandatory so I'm having fun choosing what feels fun rather than slogging through what feels obligatory

Had more fun than in Bastion, the quests are entretaining and is more involved with the main storyline.
First impressions of Ardenweald. Damn, this place is gorgeous. And really needs the help. Oh, and one of the rares is a top tier reference:
So having fun there.
Oh yeah Vashj gave me shit for killing her, and talked about how much more she loves Maldraxxis than Outland.
