JoJo starting out advice: embrace the camp. Part 1 is SO OVER THE TOP CAMPY you can't enjoy it unless you take everything super seriously and at face value and just REVEL in the sheer campiness of it.
The campiness slowly dissipates into an omni-present goofiness/absurdity in later parts. A bizareness, if you will. And you'll have trained yourself to enjoy that aspect, so it'll be fun. Aside from certain problems.

1 is kinda boring and the least absurd of the jojos, and jonathon is a very boring strong boy
2 is where it gets silly and joseph is the best dirtbag
part 3 is where stands show up and the series goes full bonkers

Because the first two series had an entirely different power being used. The third series blends things and the fourth totally abandons the first in favor of stands.

I went to a convention around this time, and attended the AMV showcase/voting. There were around twenty or so videos shown. At least ten used this song. After about four, people began groaning. By the end the entire audience was just groaning and booing as soon as the music started.

Things get changed up pretty heavily in part 7 too. There are stands but many of them act so differently from past stands that you could rightfully imagine it a different series.
