I just picked up Dark Horse's "The Art of the Android Universe." Which... well, might as well be "The Art of Netrunner," but that's okay. There are some things from Android, Infiltration, Mainframe, and the novels... but not a ton. It really is just a gorgeous gallery of the card game's art.
I miss that game. I keep saying I should get into Nisei, but I don't really have anyone to play with. L5R is getting a similar treatment, as the Emerald Legacy project seems to be picking up steam.
I had a lot of fun playing the Android setting for Genesys. I really need to run that again.

I did a mini campaign with Genesys using the Android setting but with some tweaks to do our own homebrew Shadowrun system. It was fun.

My great success was setting up an OLD industrial tablet PC with linux and when it was time for the decker to do his thing I would give him a USB stick with the system schematics on it, and he would have to pull it up. It also had enough memory to be able to run an MP3 player so he also managed the music for the campaign.
I took a big gamble. I've been playing Elden Ring and when I saw Dark Souls: The Board Game in stores, I caved and bought it. It has mixed opinions, but the community's house rules reportedly resolve a lot of the grind issues.
I did get a broken figure in the box, so I'm a little bummed about it. But how's the game?
Actually pretty fun! It mimics the mechanics of the video game fairly well while offering a satisfying combat puzzle in each room you traverse. The house rules meant I was gaining souls much faster and couldn't dally as much due to also limiting the "spark" limit (essentially how many lives you have). I may pick up the Explorer and Character expansions for some additional gameplay options, and later get one of the larger packs for more enemy variety.

I've been really into this new game living forest. I played it a bunch on BGA and had a copy shipped to me and will try it out on my weekly group tomorrow
I got to play Arkham Horror (the old one, not the latest version) over the weekend. Only used a couple of expansions as the table wasn't large enough for the fully-ridiculous layout. That was my favorite boardgame for several years but I'd not played it probably close to a decade. I'd forgotten what a glorious mess it is. We almost won! And probably would have if we'd realized one investigator can pay at the church to bless another investigator two turns earlier than we did (the last gate we needed sealed hung on for 3 turns due to the investigator trying to seal it being cursed and unable to roll a 6). I don't think I'd want to go back to playing the game on the regular but it really is a ton of fun if you can appreciate it through the absurdity.

This didn't go great 😔
Kind of fiddly and hard not to accidentally cheat in person
Disappointing because a half deckbuilder with the hand draw mechanic from mystic vale was a great pitch
I don't know how long my friends will stay interested in playing on BGA.
It's so pretty, maybe it will make a good game for new board gamers?

I don't know what I'm more excited for:
My copy of Libertalia coming in... Or the metal coins I ordered with it. I swear. You say "metal coins" and I'll hop on any game.

I love Xia's metal coins and ever since I got that game my kids wonder which other games have them too. One keeps trying to pitch me metal coins for Viticulture.

Libertalia is my go-to 6 player game, and it's been a hit with all sorts of folks. Even folks who normally only like co-operative games. I don't know why that is. It could be the pirate theme, but other pirate-themed games often fall flat.

Ever since the incident involving the CEO of Broken Token, I haven't visited their website or looked at their offerings.
Today, I noticed an email from them advertising a Twilight Imperium 4 organizer. Still didn't look in detail, but it was $99.
... My god, I cannot begin to imagine how heavy that would make the box. Hell, even with my Folded Space organizer, it's a hefty solid brick!

I'm planning on running a Diplomacy game for my friends. Maybe something like 1 turn a day, very slow paced. Which online version would you recommend? I'm leaning towards Backstabbr.

It's pretty neat so far. It's basically the third game in the Mystic Vale series by the same designer, so if you're familiar with how card-crafting worked there you'll know a bit how your deck works. This time your deck is made up of your crew of your ship, which all have icons that on your turn you can play and trigger to make your ship... well, go. Sails will make it move, barrels will produce units of cargo that you can load onto your ship and haul out to buy upgrades or build fortifications on islands you control, your Buccaneer can drop influence cubes onto the island you're currently at to try to take control of said island (so you can load resources and coins off it), your Purser will cause islands to Produce their production, etc.
On your ship, you have four... I honestly forget what they're called, but basically cargo holds. Two of them have Sails that you can use by default every turn... unless they're holding cargo. You can upgrade the ship to make the other two active later on in the game via ship upgrades. Whenever the ship takes damage, you stick a Fire counter on one of those. Once all four have Fire, and you take a fifth, your ship sinks and you lose a lot of what you're carrying and go back to the Harbor.
Combat's resolved by the big Battle Ship in the back there. Each player/NPC will contribute a number of cubes that'll get rolled down that tower, and where they end up on the grid below is what they do. Crowns count towards winning the fight, fire spaces do damage to the opponent, resource spaces let you Pillage resources or coins (the victory point equivalent of the game) onto your ship or the island where you're fighting.
At the end of the turn, after discarding the cards you played and drawing back up, you have the opportunity to upgrade your crew members. They start at level 1, and go up to level 4. (The backing card they're printed on will come out of the sleeve and rotate/flip to their new level.) They gain new abilities or maybe some specific effects you can use.
The game ends when... oh, back on the Harbor board on the wide layout, across the top? There's achievements you can work towards and complete for points, the game ends when a player has completed six of them. At the start of the game you draft a bonus achievement tile that will give two of those extra points if you complete them. Some of them involve having explored and flipped over five tiles, others involve sinking ships, or having at least 30 coins banked in your chest, or having upgraded your ship a bunch, having a lot of buildings on islands you control, etc.

Oh my god.
The hype video alone...
Edit: Okay, looks like they do a lot of lore work. Looking at their previous releases, I don't really recognize any of them. How is the quality on their games?
Edit 2: Hmm. The comments have some worrying stuff in them, and apparently there's no actual gameplay info beyond the basics posted there. That's a touch concerning.

comments are just people bitching about the price; KS projects going forward are going to be a LOT more expensive than ever before because of the shipping companies jacking up their prices 1000%
the rest is some weird way they have of categorizing their games under different companies which does seem extremely fishy as well as at least one game that hasn't delivered yet, but they do have a progress page for that: https://luudos.studio/#progress
i will say the pledge tier locked at 9 fucking euro is the height of bullshit and a massive red flag

I bought metal coins and wooden shields off of Etsy for King's Dilemma. It really heightened the experience. We also had an Infinity Gauntlet bottle opener and a real gavel for those roles in the game. Would recommend.
File metal coins under things I would never spend extra money on. They're fine?
I generally feel the same but there have been exceptions. I bought metal coins for when I was playing Netrunner and that was - frankly - a great investment for the time. Sadly they just sit in a bag these days because cyberpunk isn't all that common a genre. =_=
I also picked up themed metal coins for Terra Mystica and Trickerion and enjoy them for those games.
But so many metal coins are just ... crappy. And I certainly have some because Kickstarter stretch goals but if you're not going to put in some real effort (making them feel good and be in denominations useful for your game in volumes that matter) then I would prefer you save me the money and the box weight. I can't imagine willfully buying more at this point.

Now.. you wanna talk 100% unnecessary accessories?
My newest Here to Slay swag just came in.
So the game has you choosing a class, and then assembling a party of all the other classes. Your hero is like a superpowered version of the various classes, which represent various animals. This pack is "Big cats" and "dogs." Each class gets its own set of accessories.
The mats are pretty self explanatory. They do provide guidance on how far you are from your objective.
The standees act as a reminder of what class you are playing, and count towards your party total.
The dice are just extra Unstable Unicorns themed swag.
The meeples.. LITERALLY have no purpose. The suggestion is to use them to better indicate what classes are in your party (along with the standee) to help other players see how far along you are. I haven't figured out the best way to store these yet. Otherwise, TeeTurtle / Unstable Games just made them because they were cool. And hey, they aren't wrong...
Put them together, though... and it makes quite the intimidating team.
Only problem is that my swag box was already a bit overflowing...
