doesn't the pact of the 7 part universe kind of need 7 parts to work?
Is it working?
In that everything is not on fire, yes.
Not saying things are good, or that lot of things are not on fire, or would not be improved by being set on fire, but atleast there are some parts that are not currently on fire.
Solomon goes, and you suddenly have one 7th of the universe up for grabs.
If the idea is that David just up and leaves, that's a problem, since I think you need him if you want to keep the other demiurges from conquering the place. But David still around to defend the empire but no longer head of state might work.
I think it's a pity that the Solomon arc seems to validate the advisor's concerns from the opening and hint at a rather shallow concept of Pride - not that Solomon's people live well but Solomon must nonetheless make the hard choice of giving up rule, but that Solomon makes straightforwardly bad decisions out of arrogance, like holding the Circle of Strength when the international system is teetering on the edge of all -out war. The "tell" writing wants the former but the "show" writing has the latter
that's like, the grade school morality tale version of Pride, where the Hare takes a nap just because, rather than the Hare winning easily and then being tormented by meaningless achievements

I don't know how I feel about this part of the story but I find it very difficult to agree with the idea that Solomon refuses to give up control for no reason. His backstory seems to be built to justify that decision.
Probably reading too much into a single expression but man I don't know if SD is feeling that suggestion I kind of think a bit of a tanty might be incoming
So everyone has an aura in the last panel, and Nyave's is green. Is it just her own will, or is it Gog-Agog? I'm kinda thinking it's just coincidental that it's green, as it seems to just be part of Nyave's color scheme.
I will say that if the green flamey flames are supposed to indicate she is wormed up then the hints have been like pretty fuckin agressive like she has been plainly depicted with green flamey flames multiple times

Zaid even has one. Which is kinda purple? All the rest make sense, Angel, Devil, Key Holder, Worm, but what is Zaid? He's been depicted a void before, a kind of anti-Alison. The gatekeeper to her keymaster?
If only someone had told them not to do it... lol.
When a literal god tells them to do it, that's hard to argue against.
He didn't though.
Tell him to go about it the way he did that is.
Maybe. But I think Durkon thinks that if they just defeat Xykon and Redcloak, all they've done is kick the can down the road, and judging by the Azure City Gobbotopia rift's dramatic expansion, that can ain't going very far. Roy was clear that defeating Xykon was Plan A, which means if that how things turn out they lose the only chance to permanently address the Snarl. So Durkon concluded he had to take the chance to fulfil his God's order in his own way.
Also Burlew is pretty consistently good about showing that sometimes Good characters takes risks on the behalf of others. Durkon knows this was a bad plan but he thinks the risk of a better outcome for everybody, including Redcloak, is worth that risk.
I keep going back to how much I love this new Tigress Queen page.
They are already terrified of her just because of what she has been doing as a ruler and military commander, and what she can do in direct combat, and now she can also sneak up on them from the front without even knowingly trying to. Even if Zusufula did assist as kind of a large visual obstacle.

Who was it that said that Zoss is probably cheating with Time in order to redo giving the key to people because I just saw this :
Why are the Seven so completely convinced that Zaid is the Successor that they take for granted that Allison isn't? Is it because Jadis says that he will be? She may have seen the Shape of the Cosmos, but does that mean she has to describe it truthfully?
A
She is quite literally omniscient
EDIT: ANd oh hey, hella relevant:
Does Solomon let his centurions construct the arena instead of just snapping his fingers and assembling it in ten seconds with the Art in order to give them something to do ?
A
I mean the guy could probably build it in a day or two but that’s not the point. If he can’t leave his empire to someone on his level he can pretty clearly see that it’s going to be trouble.

I haven’t gotten around to doing a re-read of the comic yet so maybe I’m completely wrong but wasn’t the situation with the prophecy that it was a bit vague and when they had the choice they assumed it would be the boy?

Purple is Salami Dave's color, so maybe it's because of that.
The thing about the prophecy is that she starts speaking, but one of her priests quickly starts reading the writing on her encasement and speaking for her, and it's not clear how much of that is him interpreting and how much is her own words. The only words Jadis herself explicitly says are "The successsssssssss" (she does not successfully say successor) and the title drop when she utters their name, "KILL SIX BILLION DEMONS"
When Zaid first showed up he was a scrawny powerless dude, Solomon probably saw it as his personal obligation as the Greatest Karate Master in Existence to train the guy a little bit.

not well, but better than a 7 part war I bet

it's a tried and tested thing that has never had any downsides whatsoever

We already knew the comic was heading in this direction, see Nyave's speech here...
the next god however - Gog-Agog, the Queen of Worms, who already does not rule but leaves her worlds in a leaderless, self-consuming chaos - would be well-positioned to provide a narrative bookend

I figured it's more of Salami Dave's techniques and way of thinking and whatever rubbing off on Zaid.
