ideal heist gameplay being sprinting in circles kiting the guards then making them de-aggro by going too far away and not killing them is uhh an interesting design choice

Yeah, it should benot killing guards that increases the timer. Everything else feels ok except sometimes way too rippy mobs

My builds damage is getting better (boss damage, clear damage is lols), but now I'm super squishy (part of that is the act 6 resist drop), and I'm not sure how to really fix it without dropping a bunch of sockets.

Honestly just power through it until you get to a10 when you’re gonna be buying your intro mapping gear

Yeah, just miffed after dropping a couple Chaos in failed heists.

I think they’re a great idea for making it feel like you have some agency over your rewards, just hoping the mods tend to have a good split like yours so it doesn’t overly incentivize carrying a “chest” trinket and a “drop” trinket at all times.
I’m sure someone will do it, but as long as it’s a marginal difference for the effort then I think that’s fine.

I really hope it's a prefix/suffix distinction between chests and drops.

I know they targeted nerfs at the 1 cast of brands and repeated recall playstyle, but how effective was the nerf? Is the playstyle dead?

Like most things that are wildly popular and then after a nerf nobody plays it: brands are fine. You have to recast brands a lot more. Part of the appeal was a playstyle that let you run full tilt through a map mashing an instant cast spell that obliterated the screen around you. Now they are just strong skills that play normally.

Right, but the "put recall on left click and ignore map" option is gone, which is mostly what I was hoping for. Just looking into super e-z mode farming build to just sort of relax and run around. May go back to spectres.

My character is a mess right now. Trying to figure out where the hell I'm pathing with my tree, I've got a ton of empty sockets, skills I don't even have the mana to use... But also Ignite still pretty much kills anything and everything.

I got void sphere last night and on a whim I threw it in my flame dash that’s linked to second wind. It was a huge QoL increase for my spellslinger ED/Contagion leveling build. It groups enemies for a better spread and slows stragglers from getting to me.

Choke Points in Heists
We are reducing the number of rare guards that can gather in formation behind Heist doors. This change should be out today. We're also planning to make it so that some monsters will release their skills in a staggered way so that you are not being hit by many skills simultaneously. Fewer monsters in these choke points will have their abilities ready to go as soon as the door opens. This should make these encounters more manageable and less about being blasted in the face with damage.
Thank god. At 44ish I did a 35 heist that when the door opened I got charged and it did like 300% of my max HP in damage to me because it was 4 or 5 rares
Bless your heart.

It is not. At the end of that description, it says "it should go up today unless we run into problems in testing," then someone inquired on Reddit and Bex confirmed that they ran into problems in testing.

What I want is the fix where one of the Rogues I brought on a Grand Heist decides to not enter the fucking mission with me, and is responsible for opening the final door.

Choosing between looting 9/10 chests or 8/10, but getting an extra large chest isn't really an interesting decision though. Also, instead of running past guard because killing them would raise the alarm, you run past guards because stopping to kill one or two enemies is a waste of time.

I have brand recall on my LMB, so once I've start casting brands, I just sort of kill everything for a bit until I stop for a bit to let them run out.

this league u can use alt quality supports to stop ur phantasm shots piercing
this opens up so many fucking stupid builds i cannot express
ALT QUALITY CHAIN 80% NO PIERCE
CHAINING PHANTASMS ARE ON DA MENU BOIS
If you put that on Soulwrest does it apply to those Phantasms?
yep, all gems in the soulwrest apply to the phantasms, including another summon phantasms allowing u to break the phantasm cap because it adds the phantasm count
God I love Soulwrest. I will build something that uses it this league, as I always do
I tried Hexblast as a league starter and basically just never switched off off Fireball Ignite (with Fire Trap for supplemental single target). I tried a couple times and it just didn't do any damage.
So I rolled Archmage Cremation Necro, a build I played in Delirium, and it just feels off. Arcane Cloak is the main culprit I think, it feels necessary to have for damage but using it that way attenuates its utility as a guard skill. Beyond that I have had too many enemies just walk out of a Cremation still alive, so really it just needs a lot more damage, which mostly comes from getting a ton of mana on gear.
I put together an exciting PoB for a Crackling Lance Hierophant and started to level that. But I felt a strong urge to just play something that I knew would work, that I can level up without having to constantly reevaluate my choices, that plays smooth and can run maps while I build up gear for something weird.
Cold DoT Trickster it is. Final form has around 1.5mil boss DPS on a 9k ES pool. Budget endgame life hybrid version is 5link around 600k. 10k+ evasion sans flasks, 75/60 Glancing Blows block, ailment immune, 6k+ life, Ghost Shrouds restoring a 2k ES pool, and a bunch of regen. This should be tanky as all hell and with enough damage to handle everything. The Occultist version of this I played in Betrayal was one of the best builds I've ever run.
It's just so cozy to play.

Do you mind posting a PoB/character link for your cold dot trickster? I think I need some better defence, and I'd like to see what other people are doing to pick some up.

Heh well Ares and I both started out with the same hexblast/ignite planned build, and wound up on a remarkably similar sounding one, so I can give you my link at least!
Here's a PoB pastebin for cold DoT trickster. The details are in the "notes" section of the PoB, and it requires the community branch.

Low-life with a Vertex and a Presence, a Thread of Hope, and some excellent-but-not-insane gear. Since I play HC I make ailment immunity a high priority, if you aren't going for that you have a lot more flexibility on boots, gloves, and anointment. This is ultra-tanky with very good DPS. Make trade-offs for damage at the expense of defense as needed. Sacrificing Arcane Swiftness for Fringers of Frost is probably a good damage change, and anointing Divine Judgment instead is a big DPS boost.
The life-based hybrid setup, with my actual level 77 imported gear (which is pretty bad) and planned high-level passive tree, as well as a plan for going CI when I have gear (not shown) for it: https://pastebin.com/H5x0WwqM
I think I forgot to work Frost Shield and Vaal Grace into both setups, but getting a couple sockets open for those isn't terribly hard. Frost Shield seems insane for Heist and a lot of boss fights, Vaal Grace is always a big help in dodge-based builds.
I've always loved the idea of an ES-based build using a lot of dodge and evasion to cover a huge eHP pool, and this should do the trick when built right.

I failed my most recent one, because I misread the map, and ended up going the wrong direction and killing too many guards.
