the funniest quarantine thing to me re: podcasts is when professional podcasters whine about how much harder it is to make episodes when you don't have access to a studio and have to record over VOIP so you don't get any of the energy of being in the same room

So, I know literally nothing about Ontarian sugar shacks, but the best ones are in the Laurentides, north of Montreal. That's the epicenter of the world's maple production.

You have to reserve WAY in advance, talking the middle of winter for a March/April reservation. These things fill up fast. Hopefully we'll have a vaccine by the time reservations open for next year?

If you decide to make that trip, let me know, we'd definitely be into tagging along. Unless you don't want to hang out with two sugared up kids, in which case I totally get it.

Yeah, I asked that question with the understanding that the recommendations would be Quebecois, because they'd have to be

I don't think we'd make reservations this winter; maybe next winter, assuming we've got the vaccine by then (or assuming COVID is under control)

Maybe that'd give me time to learn Parisian French and piss off errybody

Sugar shacks being big tourist destinations, they're used to accommodating anglophones
