    still cheaper than gas

Yeah gas, coal, lp, and natural gas are "cheap" if we completely ignore the costs they present in long term effects to our environment and the efficiency they had in their creation. So even 50% efficiency is good for the energy loss in hydrogen probably.

    I guess I'll never know.

There's a cooking implement called "ricer" that's basically like a big garlic press with rice grain diameter holes. Using it is called "ricing" and you use it on boiled potatoes when mashing would produce the wrong texture.

There's also ricin, the very deadly toxin.

Hmm. I had a vague feeling that ricing was some kind of torture method or something. I guess you could use a ricer as a torture device but I don't think that's where I got that from.

The reason we use gas and coal is because all the "efficiency" we gain from it was created over millions of years of heat and pressure. Having a 50% efficient model with a few hours of electrical generation from our star? Is that even a fair competition? Hydrogen wins every time.

The effects hit our planet anyways, at least we can capture some of it and make it do work for us.

That's a win in every conceivable way.

Now if we can figure out fusion we'll be an interstellar species in a generation.

That's the one part no one talks about with global warming, sure humans are fuckmuppets, but we're going to need to do something about our sun because it's getting hotter as it burns through its fuel.

We've got maybe 2 billion years before it'll be too hot for any life, and about another 4-6 billion years before it goes into the red giant phase.

i wanted to fact check and it turned out to be more challenging than i expected to find out if christ church oxford is anglican or catholic

i mean i was pretty sure anglican but it's good to be sure

wikipedia led me there but it wasn't just like straightforward "denomination: anglican"

it did however have a straightforward "named after: jesus christ"

as if there might be some confusion on that point
