Has Jimmy Fallon ever spoken in hindsight about how stupid and wrong it was for him to have Trump on his show?

none of these sick dunk interviews are mean enough

    yeah i'll agree with that

    this was like, the baseline

Axios is a committedly 'centrist' organisation who have been prioritizing presidential access over calling out Trump's shit since day one of his presidency and I absolutely can't stand their weaselly mealymouthed shit, so really it's amazing they were even this hardball.

I guess a journalist with access to the POTUS doing the bare minimum feels refreshing at this point

This really should have been a slow pitch soft ball knock it out of the park interview that's actually a campaign ad,

If Trump and his regime had actually done anything to help anyone other than the tip top of the 1%

Yeah, he's said he regrets it and people being angry at him about it makes him sad.

I recall an interview with NPR a couple years ago, where he essentially said it's his job to tell everybody everythings all right as they go to bed, so...no.

    He has no hindsight.

Trump overloads the sense by continuously doing heinous things.

Remember when he pulled troops out and abandoned our Kurdish allies to a grisly fate? That feels like a million years ago.

Did he actually do that? Or did he just make a big announcement and then do nothing?

I literally don't know at this point if he actually does anything he says he's going to.

No, we actually pulled troops out. I distinctly remember it, and I remember focusing on it because people were going to die directly because of the action, people who were our allies and I didn’t want their deaths to be lost to the heinous overload.

How naive 2019 me was, as thousands die a day now because of Trump’s malfeasance and he doesn’t bat an eye.

Last night I watched an old No Reservations episode in Kurdistan and all the people he was talking to were like "we are confident that the US will never abandon us and we will be able to turn our autonomous region into a real state very soon" and I was like ah no, oh no, oh dang
just the worst kind of hindsight

We'd already burned them several times but hope springs eternal I guess. :/

Ah yes, giving Trump loads of media attention to show what a boob he is certainly has worked out well in the past and is definitely not one of the mainstream media's worst offenses in recent memory.

Many people fully believe they can be "apolitical" and have not one iota of the thought required to know that isn't possible. And reasons to not think about it just stream into the bank account. I'm probably extra salty about this after listening to the CEO of the biotech I work for rail against academia for having "perverse incentives" like dude wtf do you think drives this company?

They make other people feel guilty, so it's an out of sight, out of mind kinda of thing. Don't be homeless where people can see you or else you might make them feel bad!

Also, this country is REALLY good at being mad at the poor for being poor, as stupid and counter-intuitive as that sounds.

re bolded: It's not. Most of the sweeps SPD does are illegal, because you cannot penalize someone for being on the streets unless you have an open place for them and surprise! We usually don't.

When wealth is portrayed as a result of ambition, character, and virtue, then poverty is naturally the absence of all three

    Oh you sweet summer child

We only very recently stopped enforcing "vagrancy" laws

And not because you can't punish people who don't have somewhere to go, because that would imply that we care about that, no, it's because those laws were too vague

vagrancy laws also result in arrests and having to provide the homeless with food and medical care

which I can assure you the prison system does not want to do
