So this took longer to set up than anticipated! But I flattened out Blu Vistas and turned it into a trading post!
Right now I have lettered spots for DIY, Fossils, and Items! Just roughly grouped by first letter, nothing crazy yet. If you dont feel like sorting yourself, drop in the unsorted section and I'll clean up later.
Unfortunately my turnip numbers are trash, but I'll try to start tracking those on this island too for more reasons to drop by and leave your shit. I'm going to open up a couple times this week, to see if there's any interest in this. If It picks up speed, I'll start a keeping a spread sheet with island inventory!

I have a theory, and it goes something like this: There is a hidden score when designing a house, and you have to reach it in order for them to give you a gift "later" (is it even the next day? only one a day? I dunno!)
I'm trying to test whether it's "use a lot of the items they like" (they will react to things you place), or "spend a lot of time" or both. With time, they will comment when you did it quickly or took your time.
I might resort to some time traveling for further testing. Also you don't have to wait for them to be hanging out on the north beach, you can just visit their vacation home from the HHP app or talking to Niko.

I always read Gulliver as the lowest ranked member of the boat he works/serves on, not the captain, so the crew intentionally throwing him overboard isn't mutiny but hazing. Gulivarr, on the other hand, is explicitly a Captain and so he's probably getting wasted and falling off on his own.
In HHP, Roswell wants a home that's some combination of sci-fi, ancient ruins, and vaguely ominous mystical stuff.
It's the Animal Crossing X Shin Megami Tensei crossover I never knew I needed. I left him a vacation home where he can work on his demon summoning program in peace.
Also, I'm gonna have to start paying attention to Saharah again, I guess. I really want that wooden floor with the mystical circle drawn in chalk.

Well it rained a lot and flowers/tulips took over my island. So I bought a few trashcans and made a bunch of shovels so I will dig up till I get bored to clean up my island before it snows
I am not as naive to think winter will do something about it like it used to in previous games
