Morrowind was really revolutionary for its time, had some really great writing and an interesting plot and characters at times, and also 95% of the gameplay was complete butt.
In spite of that the things that it did right were good enough to make me put 30 or 40 hours into it every 2 or 3 years.
If they ever did a modern remake or skywind came out I would probably never go back to the original though.
I'm glad I played Morrowind back when it was current, because in terms of both promise and weirdness, it was by far the greatest Elder Scrolls game for its time...but man, as sterile as Skyrim feels in comparison, the infinite quality of life improvements it and other games have offered in the years since make me skeptical I could ever go back to Morrowind again without a hundred mods rebuilding the core gameplay.
'Course it'd be about worth it to go kill some Ordinators again.
I love the Skyrim dlc with the morrowind island, or solstheim or whatever, it’s the morrowind ecosystem and has all the morrowind critters and armours and it’s so great
Oblivion was my TES entry point. Everyone was telling me, "oh but you have to play Morrowind, it's so much better."
"This game looks like ass. I mean, it looks like ass compared to other games that came out the same year. ... oh, it was their first fully 3D game and it also had to run on Xbox. That explains much."
*downloads a dozen mods and patches*
"Okay, now it looks... acceptable, but the gameplay is still bullshit."
*finds out how to stack Fortify Alchemy, Fortify Intelligence, etc etc and break the game wide open*
*brews potions that let him leap/fly halfway across the island in a single bound*
"I begin to see the appeal." k-k-kreeeeh!
"AAAH FUCKING CLIFF RACERS"
The most important mod for Morrowind is the marksmen modl.

Odd question but I I feel someone here might have what I'm looking for. Has anyone made a spreadsheet or something to keep track of their games? Between Steam, Origin, Epic, Ubi, Twitch, Game Pass and whatever else I know I have multiple copies of certain games. I'd like to find out for sure.
'Course it'd be about worth it to go kill some Ordinators again.
"Oh, the armor? Found it. On a body, in a Sixth House ruin. Yes, they were dead before I got there."
*flat stare that says "I'm not lying, but go ahead, I wouldn't mind having another set for my collection"*
I still remember looting the Telvanni vault and getting a ton of high level stuff from there. The whole world-levels-with-you that they implemented in Oblivion took out a lot of fun out of those kinds of things.
I use GOG Galaxy to try to manage my collections as much as possible. It's still in beta but works quite well.
GOG Galaxy has been real funky for me the past week or so, but its apparently just an Australian thing because switching on a VPN cures it's connection issues. Hopefully temporary!
Also, holy fuck Orivon. You're just running down the isles of Steam with your arm out crashing entire shelves worth of goods into your trolley, aren't you? insane

I used that too, but more of what I'm looking for is something to tell me what doubles (or in some cases triples) that I own or have access to (like game pass). Sometimes I want to buy a game on Steam but I honestly don't know if I own it somewhere else.
After I rapidly got bored of Borderlands 3, I'm curious how Outer Worlds builds upon the FPS/WRPG formula, so I picked it up.
I also got quickly bored with Borderlands 3. Thought it was just me.
Outer Worlds is FANTASTIC though.
There's a lot of very vocal Outer Worlds haters out there, but I've never really understood them. I guess they were expecting Fallout: New Vegas 2 in Space and are now eternally mad they didn't get it. At least the Steam reviews are very positive so it's clear they are in the minority.
In Obra Dinn, were there any scenes where there's a bunch of seamen in their hammocks other than the one in The Doom and the one in Bitter Cold? The endgame of trying to piece together the identities of the last few seamen and topmen was pretty annoying, and I'm wondering if there were some clues I missed or something.

Possible hint, if you haven't twigged to this already:
Shoes are super important for correlating those hammock scenes with other chapters.
Outer Worlds was totally fine. It's a very Obsidian game with some good writing and good characters. The story is fine (if somewhat overwrought), and the world is fun to explore. The combat is very unsatisfying, in and of itself, and then enemy variety is low. One of its chief selling points to me is that it isn't too long. It really wraps things up right at the point where I was starting to get weary of the mushy combat and returning to locations for fetch quests.
It was most certainly worth playing on gamepass for 'free.' If you like Obsidian RPGs, you now what you're getting and its worth a pickup. In some regards it feels like a bit of a throwback, but for the most part it delivers the goods.

I already 100%ed it and completely missed that, yeah. Shit. Well, I still have those "leave the ship without confirming everyone's fates" and "say the captain killed everyone" achievements. Maybe I'll go for those achievements and see what the deal with that is on the way.
@destroyah87 shouldn't listen to Isy. I also shouldn't use words. Senren*Banka seems to be quite good and I am an absolute sucker for romance stories. Thank you Destroyah.

That second achievement is kind of annoying because it would take ~40 seconds to do without all the unskippable cruft, instead of like 20 minutes.
Huge thank you to @destroyah87 for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered! So many great memories playing this one back in the day with you lot :heartbeat:
Finally pulled the trigger on Game Pass Ultimate. Played a little New Super Lucky's Tale this morning on XB1 (it's adorable) and I'm installing Gears Tactics as we speak. I'm very excited.

Gears Tactics is sooooo good. The side missions get a bit repetitive near the end but at least for me the game ends before it gets too bad. One tip - level up a scout and get all the frag grenade talents for him/her. You get an endless stream of higher and higher level reinforcements so you don't need to level any other types, but if you keep on using that one scout all the time they end up higher level than the recruits.

I just watched some clips of him in Blade:Trinity. Good as you would expect.

When I thought that HiT BiT couldn't get any better than his awesome gifs, he does that. What's next? Ability to suddenly photoshop in the real world?

I would put it more along the lines of KOTOR and/or Mass Effect (1), but it's such an amazing game if that's something you would enjoy.

Hmm, it's a few cents cheaper than the launch discount. I hope it's selling well.

And thanks to everyone for the lovely messages!

Yeah. I wish they would have branched out just a bit in the plot, because it was a bit too one note for a game that long personally.
